Went into this with pretty low expectations, but were pleasantly surprised. Other than the odd portrayal of the Joker, the characters were all very likeable and endearing. The action was great and the story itself had a cohesive flow that moved things forward nicely. In terms of the bluray, the picture was gorgeous with vibrant colors that popped and nice, clean lines. Very enjoyable and highly recommended!

This is not a slapstick style comedy where the corpse just flops aound like a dead fish. Daniel Radcliffe does an outstanding job and watching him transform from a flatulent lump back into a being that is "alive" is just fascinating. I felt myself immediately pulled into the bizarre world of these two characters, as they discussed the philosophy of life and death. Very intelligent, witty and surreal...highly recommended for those who like dark comedies that are both engaging and intelligent. Outstanding bluray quality as well...enjoy!
The fifth installment of the inventive FX original horror anthology series American Horror Story centers around the mysterious Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles and its owner The Countess (Lady Gaga) and a suspected serial killer. American Horror Story: Hotel stars series regulars Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Wes Bentley, and Chloe Sevigny. All twelve episode of the critically acclaimed season are included in this release.

Hotel is not as strong as previous seasons of AHS, but I still think it's one of the best shows around. The cinematography is excellent, costumes and make up are great, and the environments really pull you into the story. The actors do a fantastic job of bringing their characters to life, especially Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. As for the bluray quality, the image is just gorgeous....colors pop, blacks are nice and inky, the lines are clean. Highly recommended for fans of the macabre!

Dumbo was always one of my favorite movies when I was a child, so I was thrilled to add this Blu-ray to my collection. I literally sat on our couch for the full 63 minutes with a smile on my face, as I remembered the first time I watched with my mom and how we cheered for Dumbo as he flew through the Big Top with Timothy sitting in his hat. Some movies feel dated and you watch them thinking, "Why did I ever like this?" But this was not the case with Dumbo! On a technical note, I already had the Big Top edition DVD and while that looked fantastic, this Blu-ray was definitely worth the upgrade. The colors really pop, the line work is crisp and clean, the detail was amazing. This version also came with a nice assortment of extras, including deleted scenes and a very interesting making-of documentary. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel good!

I bought a copy of this for my cousin's birthday and another for myself...we both really enjoy his films and The Choice was another great installment. Love the attention to nature and the kind of magic his movies bring to the screen. While the movies tend to differ a bit form the books. I enjoy them just the same. Although, I would recommend his novels to anyone looking for heartwarming romance with a bit of drama to bring on the tears. I love the way he brings people together, and sometimes, tears them apart. Another enjoyable film that I'm happy to have in my collection!

We always enjoy Melissa McCarthy's films and I'm happy to say, this one kept us laughing throughout. You have to be a fan of her dark comedic style, otherwise this will just seem crass and uninspired. But if you like your comedy with a dash of spice, then this should fit the bill nicely. Not recommended for folks looking for a comedy that's endearing or warm hearted...you won't find any of that here! Watch the trailer and read some other reviews before you make this purchase if you're new to her work, but if you're a fan, then by all means add this to your collection today. Great looking Blu-ray and a nice slipcover with colors that pop!

This movie was great fun, made all the more enjoyable by Jeff Goldblum, who I've loved since I was just a teenager...which is a pretty long time ago now that I think about it! Of course, the special effects were fantastic and it's always fun watching Roland Emmerich blow things up. He's kept action fans on the edge of their seats for decades, so if you're a fan of his over the top style, you should enjoy this one as well. Blu-ray looks great too...recommended!

I am a huge fan of the Evil Dead films and of Bruce Campbell, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to finally add this to my Blu-ray collection. The special effects here are just amazing and so far ahead of their time. Campbell rocks as Ash and was the perfect choice to make this all the more enjoyable. Blu-ray presentation made this worth the double dip for me. Stay away from the remake though...yuck!! However, do check out the new series if you can...Ash vs. the Evil Dead. Great fun!

I am really loving what Marvel is doing with these films and the new Cap was no exception! Tons of action, great fight choreography and enjoyable characters made this one a winner for the whole family. Also, I love the new actor who is playing Spiderman....took over a decade, but they finally got the character right! His quips were in line with what I would expect from Spidey and unlike the previous two actors who held the role, this actor seems to be a perfect fit as both Spidey and Peter Parker. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in his own film when it's released. Another great ride through the Marvel universe and perhaps Stan Lee's most amusing cameo so far. Outstanding video presentation made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I was really enjoying this at first, but about an hour or so into the story, I found myself thinking, "What just happened? Who are these guys? Where did he come from?" It was so frustrating and I'm sure I drove the person I watched with absolutely mad with questions. He reads the comics so was able to shed some light, but for casual fans, this movie is a mess. I thought I would love Ben Affleck as Batman, but I was a bit disappointed in his performance. Henry Cavill is a great Superman though and I found him to be the most enjoyable part of the film. I've enjoyed Zach Snyder's other directorial efforts and I honestly think my lack of enjoyment was less about his style and more about the script they gave him to work with. The colors were drab and washed out, which was a bummer, because Superman and Wonder Woman's costumes should really pop with color. The 4k presentation was outstanding, with tremendous detail in every scene and some of the cleanest line work I've ever seem in film. I'm glad I saw this, but I would only recommend it to hardcore fans with some comic book knowledge, or those who have or a viewing companion who knows the books.
