I have been a long time fan of Henry Rollins, but if I didn't love him already, this movie would have sold me for sure! This movie is hysterical throughout, but it's Rollins' delivery that makes it even better. Pretty bloody, but campy too! Blu-ray looked fine, so no complaints there. All in all, a fun ride and highly recommended for anyone who likes their horror with a bit of humor...or their comedies with a very dark side!

Rather than relying on gore or shock value, The Babadook brings tension to the screen via outstanding performances by the mother (played by the wonderful Essie Davis) and her incredibly annoying son. Without ever showing too much at once, this film manages to be both creepy and suspenseful. Honestly though, I was more frightened of Essie Davis than I was of Mr. Babadook! Blu-ray quality looks quite good, but it's the audio that conjurs nail biting tension. Very recommended!

Unlike the Italian cannibal films Roth is paying homage to, the Green Inferno isn't frightening, but rather a fun campy ride through the jungle with a group of students so arrogant and annoying you'll be happy to watch them get eaten!! Blu-ray quality was excellent and there are some nice special features included. It's not the gore fest I was expecting, but there should be enough bloody action to keep you satisfied. Grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the ride!

I had expected Crimson Peak to be a terrifying film from what I saw in the trailers, but quite honestly, it wasn't. Although I certainly enjoyed it--the cinematography is quite beautiful and very rich in detail, color, etc. Watching this movie is kind of like watching a storybook with living illustrations--the costumes are gorgeous and the actors are wonderful in their roles. Absolutely worth watching and owning; the Blu-ray quality was amazing as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anybody who enjoys gothic horror or just a good story in general.
