A Worthy Upgrade

The One S is more than simply a "slim" version of the Xbox One. With a built in power supply (no more corded power brick taking up space), a UHD Blu Ray player (which the PS4 doesn't have) it's nearly a "must have" if you already have a 4K display - especially if it has HDR.
It won't play 4K games, however it supports 4K blu ray and streaming content (Netflix, Amazon, etc.).
For those with 1080p displays who already have an Xbox One, you're probably better off waiting for the Scorpio next year, but if you have a 4K TV, you likely won't regret the upgrade.

This charging station charges controllers from 0 to 100 in less then 30 minutes and last 8+ hours. The charger shows the battery/charge percentage while they're charging.
The one knock with this is I'm not sure how accurate the meter is, but it gives you a general idea.

The improved bumper buttons and 3.5mm headphone jack is a nice improvement over the original XB1 controller, and the aesthetics are unique. Works like you would expect a standard XB1 controller to work.
The conroller has laser-etched details, including a honeycomb pattern on the front hand grips, and represents one of the protagonists from Halo: Locke (there's a Master Chief one that's military green schemed).
As an additional perk with purchase, it comes with some bonus Halo 5 DLC in the form of a special in-game REQ Pack.

It's lacking a few features (hdmi input is a big one and keeps it from a 5 star review), but the IPS screen is easy to read and the picture is crisp, and the color reproduction is above average.
If you can get by without an HDMI input, this monitor is a very good value. So good in fact I have 3 of them.

No more having to find the right remote, or have 3-4 laying around: you'll just need one. Likely the best universal remote for most people's home theaters and audio/video media systems. Solid console, better controller

The bundle comes win a matte finished xbox one equipped with a 1 TB SSHD - A hybrid drive using a platter to store data, combined with a SSD storage. It boots a bit faster during cold boot (wake from sleep about the same), but other than that there is no noticeable difference. I does have double the capacity of the standard 500GB drive, which fills up quickly.
What really makes this package worthwhile is the controller - especially because as a standalone accessory the Elite controller is sold out everywhere and supplies won't normalize until 2nd quarter 2016.
As a standalone accessory, the Elite controller might be a little expensive at $150 (that was the general reaction when MS revealed it, and they decided to lower initial production because of it). Spend a few minutes with it however, and you'll WANT it, and can you really put a price tag on perfection?
It's not suddenly going to make you the best gamer. It's like an average golfer buying the best golf clubs: it won't give you a significant edge unless you're already really good, but it will make you FEEL like it does.

It's Halo, but better.

Great multiplayer, a great story hampered by never really exploring or expanding on interesting point that are made. Locke as the main protagonist doesn't really work because there's no backstory and he does nothing in the game to make you care much about him. Nothing is really expanded on, and only 20% playing as the Master Chief.
Still a must play.
