Easy Setup, Great Picture, 2s Delay
on April 9, 2019
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I was in search of a security camera to place outside of my home and decided to try out the Ario product. I have really enjoyed the ease of setup and easy to use software that you control on your phone.
Pros:
Easy Installation
LED Light on Camera
4K quality
Motion Sensor
Wide Angle Lens
SD Card slot to save video
Accessible Outside of Network
Durable
Long Battery Life
Low Light Mode
Night Vision
2 Way Audio
Cons:
2 Second Delay in recording
Video Library Management
:: Installation / Setup ::
The base station connects to your router and requires a power source. There is a slot to insert a Micro SD card to record 4K video. The camera has a magnetic base station that is pretty powerful. It has withstood some heavy wind gusts and rain without any sort of movement. The battery within the Camera is secured from the elements and lasts for 3 months. Mine has lasted longer since I have it on an "Arm" schedule.
:: Camera ::
The LED light on the camera is impressive and provides enough light to see who is out there. The motion sensor works great for people , objects and critters. I like how you can modify the view angel to Super Wide 180*, Wide 155*, or Full 120*. The Audio is sharp and picks up clearly whatever is nearby. However when using the 2 way Audio there is a noticeable delay. Which brings up the one issue I have with the video. There is a 2 second delay upon once motion is detected and recording. It is very annoying and unable to correct.
:: Arlo Software ::
The software is very easy to install and setup on your phone. There are a lot of options available for both the Arlo Hub station and the camera. You can view the battery set arming schedule, enable/disable LED light, modify video/audio settings and set Activity Zones. There is a feature to check camera positioning and motion sensor to help make sure it is in range and matches your preferred motion sensitivity. There is even a CVR option to use as a timeline feature (With a Plan upgrade)
Overall I have really enjoyed this camera and its features. I am disappointed at the 2 second delay from motion to recording however does not impact what I use it for. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an easy to use security camera.

Fast Print/Scan, Picture Quality Average
on March 18, 2019
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I was looking for a printer that could printer multiple pages quickly due to the amount of work I do. I decided to get the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 and unfortunately it only met half my needs. I am disappointed at the sacrifices HP made choosing Quantity over Quality. It prints fast however all other qualities fall very short.
Pros:
Fast Print
Fast Scanning
5G WIFI
Color Touchscreen
Phone App
2 Paper Trays
Print Out Holder able to hold large print out stacks
USB connector in front
Easy Access to Printer assemblies for paper jams
Laser ink Jet Cartridges are cheap
Cons:
Difficulty printing certain font styles
Photo Print low to average quality
Uses Laser Jet instead of Ink Jet Cartridges
Noisy when Prints
Bulky
::Setup / Install::
The setup and install of the printer was fairly easy, you can configure from the color touchscreen or the phone app. Also if you wish to install via the computer you will need to go to HP site to download the software to run. It does not come with any software packaged, you need to either go online or use the phone store app to grab.
::Print Quality::
Printing text based documents, scanned item (Non Picture), booklets are very fast and quality is decent. Decent due to some font styles appear incorrectly when printing. It is also very noisy to be sure not to print during odd hours of the night. Pictures come out faded, low quality and inaccurate color saturation. More then likely due to the limitations of a laser based versus inkjet ink cartridges. This printer is definitely meant for someone who prints documents on standard font styles and need large quantities printer.
Overall I would recommend this for anyone who is looking to print large amount of documents in a short time. The cartridges are cheap and great for text based prints. However if looking to print anything graphical, avoid this printer and go with another printer. The quality is very low / average, passable for flow chart / graphs but that's about it.

Amazing Admin Tools, Small Learning Curve
on February 22, 2019
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I have been in the market for a new router for some time now and been very picky due to how it is pretty much the backbone of any network. I decided to go with ASUS and was so glad I did. This is what a router should be! Not only is it reliable, fast and has 8 Ethernet connectors, it has a full range of admin tools! If I am going to buy a router in the upper hundreds then I expect to have full access to everything in it. This router is a must have for anyone who wishes to upgrade their network, have wide range of admin tools and reliability.
PROS -
Price per features offered
Easy Setup
Two USB 3 Connections
8 Ethernet Ports
Ability to turn off Network Activity Lights
Network Map is Real Time, very detailed information displayed
Able to Hide SSID
Able to disable 2.4 GHz Band
Able to increase or decrease broadcast rate / band / hops
Able to power boost the signal
Able to individually modify each antenna (Band) for signal rate/boost
Able to set Guest Access in DMZ (Outside Intranet/Firewall)
Able to set time limit for Guest Access, have to turn on/off manually
Able to see signal strength of wireless devices
Able to see transfer connection rate of wireless devices
Able to see connected device details
Packet Collision non-existent, very little if any multi packet rebroadcast
Able to perform router trace to devices for network troubleshooting
Able to provide real time monitor/status logs
Able to provide firewall status
Able to export router configuration settings in-case needing to restore router
CONS-
No Phone App
No Mount / Stand for Router Placement
To Use Traffic Analyzer must agree to send your network data to TrendMicro
To Use Adaptive QoS must agree to send your network data to TrendMicro
**However you are able to use the Traditional QoS without having to agree to send your data to TrendMicro.**
Game Boost Feature is external outside network going through 3rd party
*** Note ***
Use Adaptive QoS / Game Boost / Traffic Analyzer at your own risk as you are agreeing to send your network information to Trend Micro / WTFast.com. Even though the disclaimer says its "anonymous" there is always risk when allowing data to go outside your network. I find it disappointing that they lock down Traffic Analyzer and Adaptive QoS if you do not agree to send TrendMicro your data. As for Game Boost that is a GPN (Virtual Private Network) into their server so it would be understandable needing to send your data outside network if planning to use Game Boost.
::Hardware::
Casing / Antennas are made very well and durable when needing to adjust. I especially love how it comes with 8 Ethernet Ports. It has a USB 3.0 in the rear along with one in the front which is very convenient. It also has two buttons for WPS setup (Quick WiFi Setup) and LED (Turn off/on LED lights).
::Setup::
Packaged nicely, very easy to install and setup. When launching it will provide you with a browser setup wizard which is nice for those who are not very tech savvy. Once setup has completed you can then go back in and start going through the advance settings. I recommend making a backup of your router configuration before going into the advance settings in-case you need to reverse any changes.
::Software::
There is so much this router does I will focus on the highlights that way this review does not become novel to read. The GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the software is not pretty and could be overwhelming at first glance hence why I mention a small learning curve earlier. Not to worry once you understand how to navigate you will be able to go through each section and modify to your hearts content.
** Network Map provides a layout of Network Traffic, Devices, and WIFI Networks. The Network Traffic is real time, with devices updating to know when one disconnects and it differentiates between the WIFI Networks 2.4GHz / 5GHz band. It provides a detailed layout of all devices connected to the router. It displays an icon to indicate if it is either a wired or wireless connection along with connection method. It provides signal strength of wireless devices, the transfer connection rate of wireless devices and able to click on the device to provide details of the connection. You are also able to edit the device name and icon picture to what you like.
** Wireless Advance Settings provides ability to rename 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. You are able to hide your SSID or disable the 2.4 band if not being used. You can select the WIFI Channel width, which for advance users know how beneficial that is. You are able to increase or decrease broadcast rate / band / hops or boost the signal. You are able to individually modify each antenna (Band) for signal rate/boost. You do have an option for a guest access set within DMZ to ensure guests will not be within your network behind your firewall. You can also set a time limit for guest acess.
** Advance Settings is where you will have the most fun for those that enjoy tweaking their networks. There is so much customization to modify for your network you will find yourself always in there playing around. If you are not very tech savvy do not worry there are some of the basics like port forwarding, Static IP Reservation, VPN Client, Access the external USB/eSATA storage items, assign specific non-rotatable ip's (strongly recommended) and DDNS/ISP settings within.
** Administration / System Logs / Network Tools is where it excels the most! Be sure to change the router name/password, update your firmware before as a first step. Afterwards you will find you have the ability to download router logs (contains very detailed information), run network tools like trace route, device monitor/status logs, firewall status, audit tools, logging tools / filter, router config file export ability (in-case you need to restore router settings) and even more advance admin tools. ASUS has always been known to provided the best admin tools and they done it again with this device.
Overall I have been very impressed with this router and all of the abilities that comes with it. Even if you are only needing a router for the best gaming experience I would recommend this router. It is always better to have abilities and features available for when the time comes versus not having the option at all, being forced to upgrade.

Microwaving has evolved! When it comes to everything you expect in a microwave, nothing compares with the defrosting, cooking, and reheating capability of the new Cyclonic Wave. At every temperature level, Cyclonic Wave circulates heat in precision, ultra-efficient 3D waves for easier, more versatile food preparation, even with denser, more complex food textures. This exceptional microwave also includes patented Inverter Technology. Unlike traditional microwaves that rely on pulse-on, pulse-off power at lower temperatures, Inverter Technology delivers a constant stream of cooking power at every temperature. The result? More evenly cooked meals — edges to centers — every time. Put together, Cyclonic Wave with Inverter Technology provides the fastest, most efficient way to enjoy perfectly prepared snacks, sides, and meals across a broader range of cooking techniques, while also maintaining more of the natural nutrients and flavor you want. It's the ultimate combination by Panasonic!

Great Sensors , Small Learning Curve
on January 29, 2019
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
My previous microwave sensors broke down to the point I was unable to use any of its features except manual time entries. I was in the market for a reliable microwave that has good sensors to reheat my food. I have been very impressed with the Panasonic microwave on re-heating up food along with the features. However there is a small learning curve trying to navigate through their touch panel.
Pros:
Price per Features (ex:"3 Stage Cooking", "Keep Warm", "Inverter Turbo Defrost")
Uses Inverter Technology
Sensors
Large Capacity
Includes "Microwave Shortcuts" and "Cooking Techniques"
Cons:
Touch Panel
Learning Curve
::Installation::
The installation was very easy and arrived in good packaging. When installing remember to remove the film that is protecting the surface from scratches. There is a little paper marker to notate however if in a hurry you could miss it as the film blends in very well. The manual that comes with it is like a book. There are so many features and how to navigate through the touch panel that I wished Panasonic created a "Cheat Sheet" chart.
::Cooking / Reheating::
This microwave uses Inverter Technology which basically means the power level adjusts per heating heating load. It uses a power motor instead of a magnetic coil which is suppose to be more energy efficient. I am unable to speak towards the energy efficiency as I have not noticed a difference however the Inverter heating method has been very impressive. This technology allows for things like defrosting / cooking food alot faster with less nutrient reduction. I really am impressed with how large the capacity is within, you can pretty much fit a small turkey in it.
::Owners Manual::
The manual is so huge that I actually had to create a separate section just to talk about it. It is packed with so much useful information that I strongly recommend to read through it. I know many discard manuals however it would be a huge loss if you discard this one. First section is installation / safety features, however past that is where the true value comes in. They have a nice "Cookware Guide" to assist with the container you are placing inside to warm up. They then have a large dedicated section for the input panel functions and icon descriptions. I wish they had ability to input digits instead of using a +/- bar for timer. The next section of the manual they go into some of the unique features. For example the "3 Stage Cooking", "Keep Warm", "Coffee/Milk Feature", "Popcorn Feature", "Sensor Reheat / Sensor Cook Feature" and "Inverter Turbo Defrost Feature". The next section includes the Defrost Tips and Sensor Cooking Chart which I recommend reading through to get the most out of your sensor cooking. I was very impressed on how you can take advantage of the sensor cooking on this microwave. After that section there is a random "Microwave Recipes", I call it random because it is placed between the sensor cooking and cook timer features. It would have been better to move that to its own section so its not missed. I have tried the Mac n Cheese recipe and it turned out really good! My favorite section of the manual is towards the end (pg. 24-27) the "Microwave Shortcuts" and "Cooking Techniques" I wish they had this as a separate book or at front of manual. The information is extremely valuable as cooking with an Inverter is different versus a magnetic.
Overall I would recommend this microwave for anyone in the market for an upgrade or replacement. The features, inverter cooking method and sensory are very impressive along with not having to worry about using a magnetic heating element.

Portable, Easy To Use
on January 12, 2019
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I have been looking for a portable soup maker due to always being on the road and came across the Phillips Soupmaker. I was impressed with the ease of use and portability however not a fan of how short that power cable is.
Pros:
Portability
Blade Sharpness
Cookbook Included
Quietness
41 fl oz (2 - 4 People)
Cons:
Cleaning
Short Power Cable
::Setup / Cleaning::
Setup was very easy, right of the box it is ready (after some simple cleaning) to be used. In the book it is recommended to fill to the MAX line and run a cycle for sensor calibration. Afterwards you can use it at your hearts content. Not many moving parts, the container itself is easy to remove and clean however the motor top and blade is not detachable. I have found the best workaround to clean the blade is to fill to MAX line with soapy hot water and run a cycle. This way it cleans off any particles and easy to wipe down afterwards. I am not a fan of the power cable, it is extremely short and feel they could have increased the length. I have very large counter top along with some hotels that have very far reaching plugs.
:: Cooking ::
There are 5 cook settings with 1 manual blending. The Pureed Soup Program and the Chunky Soup Program takes about 18 minutes. Milk-based Soup Program takes about 35 minutes and the Compote Program which is heat only takes about 12 minutes. There is a cold soup/smoothing program with is no heat (Blending Only) that is a quick 3 minutes. I find myself enjoying this setting the most for quick meals on the go. The manual blending I have not used however it pretty much allows fully control over the blending aspect if needing to blend a little more out of it. The food items I have made so far came out perfect without issue. The smoothies taste great and the hot soup is hot! No complaints
Overall I would recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a good soup maker that is easy to use and portable. Prep work is very simple , just plug it in, chop up the food items into smaller chunks and place inside to make the soup. They include a cookbook which is great and has a large variety to try out. However I recommend to experiment and have fun with making some creations of your own !

Great Little Scanner, Very Portable
on January 3, 2019
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I have been using Epson scanners for over 10 years and have been impressed with their products. I have an Epson Perfection V30 however needed a more portable scanner on the go. Luckily I ran into this gem and have been presently happy with the results. The documents scanned are quick easy and legible. The pictures that are scanned are nice however would recommend to use it more for documents.
Pros:
Portable / Durable
Powered by USB plug
Standby Mode to Conserve Power
Ease of Use
1200 DPI Resolution
Customization of Scan Settings
Length of USB Cable
Cons:
No Linux / Chrome Support
Picture Scans
Unable to connect to tablets / phones
Legacy USB Connection / Not USB Type C
::Setup::
I installed this on my windows machine as found it does not have support for my HP Chromebook at this time of review. I am hoping they extend support to other operating systems as more laptops/portables are running Linux / Chrome OS. The drivers / software is located on their website and needs to be download / installed to use the device. They provide a key to install the convert PDF which is nice. Overall setup was very easy and quick however wish it would include the software instead of having to go to the internet to download it. Also wish they were using the USB Type C connection for the higher data transfer rates and optimized power throughput.
::Scanning::
Scanning with the device is extremely easy. It detects when you insert a document or picture and lightly grabs it ready to scan. It is then a simple one button click on the device itself to start the scan. Once scan has completed the software pulls up to preview the document and save. It can scan normal documents and pictures without problems. Even when using thicker material it was able to feed without problems. I even tried moving / nudging during the scan and it still comes out nicely scanned. Pictures are scanned however you can tell the quality difference even on 1200 DPI. More then likely its based on limitations of power being pulled by USB. I wonder if they had a separate power source or battery option if they could have pushed the DPI resolution more then 1200.
::Software::
The software is very basic and provides easy navigation when needing to save / preview the scan quickly. It is really nice when needing to be quick on a scan to provide the original document back to the customer. They do offer more in-depth settings for scanning and saving however not needed for average user.
Overall I am really impressed with this and find myself using this portable scanner all the time while traveling. On a side note I love how it goes to standby mode when not being used to save on my laptop battery drain. I would recommend this product for anyone who is needing to scan a document while out in the field. As for pictures, it does the job however understandably if needing a more detailed picture scan would recommend a normal home office scanner.

Good Video Quality, Audio/Video Delays
on December 3, 2018
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I have been in the market for a good doorbell camera and decided to try out SimpliSafe Video doorbell since I already have their security system for my house. I was impressed at the ease of install and range of the camera however the 3 second delay along with continual disconnects are a problem.
Pros-
Ease of Install
Camera Radius
Camera Quality
Speaker Quality
Mic Quality
Cons-
Only works on 2.4 GHz WiFi
Video / Audio Delays
Night Vision Quality
WiFi Disconnections as there is no "Always On" setting
***Major issue was discovered that after 5 minutes of idle / non usage it completely shuts off; Meaning that the "live video feed" stops. Only way to turn device back on is through the app, motion sensor, or hitting the button for doorbell. ***
:: Install / Setup ::
The install was very easy and the brackets fits perfectly for the mounting onto the wall. It was a snug fit without any movement and includes a secure pin to prevent anyone from running off with it. Once connected, you install the app that was very easy to install / sign up and link to WiFi Network.
:: Video Camera ::
The picture quality is 1080p and looks great at all levels of light (except dark). The range of the camera was very impressive and able to view my entire walkway. I was concerned at first since the position of my doorbell is facing the other wall and not out to the street. However with the wide angle of the lenses it was not an issue and looks great. Unfortunately the night vision mode is not as impressive with difficulty at making out faces. Video quality is also affected at night however looks great during the day.
::Application::
The application itself provides a lot of settings you can modify for the video door camera. However there is no "Always On" which in turns once it turns off it disconnects from WiFi. The application is easy to navigate through to quickly get to your camera for "live feed" and "Mic". The only concerns is the 3 second delay for video and mic that can be irritating at times. You are limited to only "Live Feed" or "Mic" when not having a subscription. If you wish to view the video records you will need to have a monthly sub.
Overall I am impressed with the video quality however falls short with the Audio/Video delays and night vision. I understand they are a subscription service so will not doc them a star for the video recording. I am removing one star for not having an "Always On" feature and the Audio/Video delays. I do not see the value of paying for a subscription if the Simplisafe Video Doorbell turns itself off and looses it connection to WiFi without a persons intervention.

Good Concept But Needs Work
on November 29, 2018
Posted by: TechTux
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I was curious about this product and decided to try it out. It is good in concept however in reality there is work that still needs to be done to justify the price range.
Pros -
Clear Pictures 12MP
Clear Video 1080p
Application Navigation
Packaging
Cons -
No Audio
No Voice Commands
On / Off Button location
Stabilization
Noisy
Battery Life
Unable to replay Video Recording in App (Must Be Downloaded)
:: Packaging ::
Right off the bat I was impressed on how this was packaged and the care the company took. I like the resealable bag the USB C cable was placed in along with how the guide book is small. I also liked how they include a nice little travel case to place in when wanting to bring the AirSelfie 2 with you.
:: Setup ::
The setup was easy to follow and upon installing the software there is a video guide that place. My concern is the location and material of the power button. It is rubbery and located right next to the center sensor as well as when you press the power button you can see the entire sensor casing shift from the press. Also with it being rubbery I fear it will easily wear over time. During the setup it will ask to connect to the devices internal WiFi using a password. Be sure to read it carefully and use the "1234..." and not the box column right next to it stating the name. It is easy to misinterpret that as the password instead of the "1234.." After setting up I recommend going through the calibration right away. I wish the application would prompt to do that right out of the box to help with stabilization.
:: Picture / Video ::
I was impressed with the picture taking abilities along with the Video recordings. When taking a picture it was always clear without distortion. The video is always smooth without jitters and in 1080p quality. I also enjoyed the face recognition feature that will allow it turn to your direction for picture / video taking. Unfortunately it does not follow you distance wise and if you walk too close it will start bobbing up and down. All picture and video taking is performed by the phone. There is no voice recognition or hand gestures that could be done to have it take a picture automatically. Speaking of voice, there is no Audio recordings in the video. The Pictures and Video is stored on the AirSelfie 2 and is visible through the application. However you will not be able to view the video without downloading it first. it is very easy to download video / pictures as well as selecting the option to share it.
:: Flight ::
The flying of the AirSelfie 2 is average at best. Even after calibration it has difficulty stabilizing. I would recommend staying within the"Easy mode" or "Expert Mode" for flying. For some reason when choosing "Medium Mode" it becomes very difficult to control the device. Indoors it flies with a slight stabilization issue even if people walking around it or not however outdoors is another story. When flying outdoors the slightest breeze can push it along especially since it already has difficulty stabilizing so would strongly recommend not using this if there is any wind whatsoever. Thankfully the casing is durable and fans are encased well so less chance of damage. Careful on grassy areas as the sensor button is exposed underneath the casing.
:: Battery ::
Battery length is horrible, it only lasts 5 minutes and if outdoors even less due to the continual positioning of the device. Charging by battery or wall unit is quick, about 15 minutes however if charging by PC or device it will take about 30 - 40 minutes. I do like they went with USB C connection to allow for faster charge / transfer rate.
:: Application ::
I was very impressed on the application and how much consideration they took in developing it. I loved that it provided a quick video tutorial upon first launch and provides access to replay it along with the instruction manual under the "Academy" section. It is easy to navigate between the 4 categories at the bottom along with many options under each. Device category allows you to control flying the device and provide a good real time view of what is showing in the camera. There is about a 2s delay between the device and the phone however not very noticeable and does not appear to affect video / picture. The gallery allows for viewing / sharing / downloading of the pictures and videos. There is no editing capabilities within the gallery so would need to use another phone / device or PC app to make those edits. The settings provide access to additional options and settings along with a clear cache option. I thought that was thoughtful of them as tech extremist enjoy clearing cache of application to optimize their phone. It saves them for having to dig into the phone itself hunting for the application's backend cache.
Overall I gave it 3 stars, the Application is wonderful, the picture / video quality is wonderful and the packaging / casing was nice. However the flight stabilization issues, short battery life, location and material of the on / off switch and Price I had to remove 2 stars. The prices range is way to expensive for what you get versus what is expected.

Portability, Reliable Mic
on November 26, 2018

from San Antonio, TX, USA
I have been in a market for a reliable mobile mic for when making videos and decided to try out the Samson Go Mic Mobile. As the name implies it is very mobile and was impressed at the amount of accessories it provided for easy connections.
Pros -
Mobility
Accessories Provided
Mounting Methods
Mic Accuracy / Sensitivity
Distance / Range
Quality
Cons -
Battery Life
Price
Environmental Interference on Mic
::Setup ::
It was very easy out of the box to setup as all connections and unit is mostly charged. You will need to have 2 AA batteries for the belt pack Transmitter readily available as it does not come with it. Afterwards it is pretty much plug in play onto your device of your choice. I used my Note 8 and it connected , worked seamlessly.
::Mic::
The Mic works great indoors with the range being very impressive. I was able to go impressive distance without distortion. However when outdoors the mic is very perceptible to high winds / environmental noise so be sure to accommodate for that with voice recording software. The Mic itself is a simple one, with a clip that attaches easily to clothing that wont move / fall off. However the teeth on the clip is very sharp. I would caution on clipping directly to clothing as it will leave a mark or may ruin the nice fabric. A nice feature that I really liked was including a hidden tool inside the belt pack transmitter that allows for quick and easy adjustment to the gain. This came in very handy for windy days.
::Battery Life::
In my situation it felt as if the battery life was average. I am not sure if it was due to me testing for hours on end without a break or using software the amplify the Mic which results of more power usage. I decided not to remove a star on this as I do not feel "normal" usage would have an issue. One recommendation, I would NOT use rechargeable batteries. For some reason it caused odd interference with my belt pack transmitter or at times performance drops. I would recommend using reliable / good AA batteries.
::Accessories::
I was very impressed with the accessories it included along with the hard case to help protect your equipment. It even includes a section for a future long neck Mic if you decide to purchase one (Not Included. You are able to mount to a smartphone, mount to a tablet, mount to a Tripod and Mount as a cold shoe adapter.
Overall I have really enjoyed this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a mobile Mic that has adaptability to whichever device you use.

Great Sound, Lots of Features, Lights
on November 23, 2018

I was looking for a good size speaker that sounded well to bring to small event for church. This speaker has really impressed me with the sound quality, features and light effects. Plus it is light enough to carry between rooms without hurting your back.
Pros -
Great Sound
Equalizer
Lights
Quality
Features / Inputs
Application Functionality
Cons -
Power Cord Length
Remote Control Distance
Lights Only On Speaker Side
:: Setup ::
The setup was very easy, pretty much plug in play using bluetooth. Installing / Launching the app it quickly detected the speaker connection and able to modify settings. I would recommend going through the Application for custom settings versus trying to use the pad on the top of the speaker
:: Speaker ::
The speaker itself has deep bass and high treble , no distortion at high level output however I have not tried maxing out to lvl 100 yet. The lights are a nice addition however wish they were on all sides of the speaker tower not just where the speaker is facing. The rubber touch pad at top of speaker is very nice as you can easily switch function input when needed to go to MIC or radio setting. You can lay the speaker on its side or have it standing up as a tower. Either position works without issues and you are still able to get to the rubber touch pad easily. The back of the speaker has Aux in / Out along with Optical in , MIC , USB and Antenna. I am very impressed with the inputs this speaker provides.
:: Music Flow Application ::
The application has a lot of features and functionalities that one can easily become lost when trying to navigate through all the settings. the Sound Effect option allows to go through Equalizer for custom sound setting. There is a lighting effect option as well to set how you wish the lights to flow with the music. There are a lot of different version which was fun to go through them all. The Function option allows to switch between all 5 methods easily and even allows for further customization under the settings option. There is a feature to set this speaker as a "Multi Mode" versus "Dual Mode" however I did not have additional speakers to test this.
Overall I really enjoy this speaker and works great in medium size rooms. With the additional input features this allows it is a great buy for anyone looking for a good portable speaker for good size rooms.

Throw away your extra remotes in favor of the Logitech Harmony 665 remote control. This functional remote works with a range of devices, from basic cable to Apple TV, and can combine up to 10 remotes in one versatile unit. This Logitech Harmony 665 remote control offers one-button setup for easy incorporation with your entertainment system.

I don't see this model (Harmony 665) listed anywhere but at Best Buy. Is this a special version of the 650 just for Best Buy? Or is it an old discontinued model?

Hi Jim,

You may have been a little early, as I see it now listed on the Bestbuy.com website -

Is there a small, medium, large load setting or are all load sizes washed with the same water usage?

There is not a manual setting however there are load sensors inside that will allow the system to judge how much water to use.

will this stream net flix and amazon? this is probably a stupid question, but I need help.

Its ok , do not feel silly asking as I am sure there are others out there with the same question. Yes it will stream both and the quality is just as good as Roku however the Netflix version on Amazon TV/Firestick will not show the actually video quality in the status during play. I am always checking to make sure Netflix is streaming the show at 720p or 1080p as it can change during play and that was a little disappointing when I discovered I couldn't on Amazon TV/Firestick
