Amidst controversy...

I thought it was great!
When, I saw the original trilogy, I was enamored...but, also, a child. They weren't without their flaws. Many of us were upset that the prequels did not grow-up with us...but that may not have been exactly what made some of us not feel that they were the story we wanted.
Lucas said Star Wars is about family issues. I would have to agree. The prequels were, too, about family issues, although...I digress.
I think Episode VII does what we want. We have a story about family...and I feel like there is much more depth to uncover (facial expressions in last scene). It definitely was the sequel I wanted. There was an Abrams touch prevalent, but the magic was definitely back.
Could I over-analyze the movie and find flaws? Yes, but did I, as a child, over-analyze the original trilogy? My point is simple:
If you want to find fault, you will, and you will be upset. Your fear will lead to hate and your hate will...make you not like the movie.
If you think back to watching the original trilogy hundreds of times, before the "Special Editions", and the glee it brought to live in a fantasy outer space world, you will love this movie and debate buying multiple copies of this lovely steelbook...just looked at mine again and smiled :)

Bigger is not always better...

While some people were happier with the bigger iPhone offerings, I was disappointed. I do not have the biggest hands, and I needed a phone I could hold and use securely in one hand...while walking the dog.
I might be one of the few, but having a new premium phone offering in the size I like was the "next big thing" for me. So, the phone does not get all of the new bells and whistles, which is a little disappointing. Personally, I am glad that I was not forgotten...and if you are looking for a smaller, premium phone, neither were you. This is the phone for you.

Back to the Original Bond Formula

Watching Bond Marathons with my dad, growing, up, I kept wondering with modern Bond flicks "What happened to Bond?"
Somewhere along the line, the formula was lost, albeit laughable and mocked at times (e.g. The villain telling the hero his exact plans right before killing him, which always goes wrong.). These things were what made Bond smooth and daring. It is like our relationship with China and Russia, we pretend to be friends, but we spy the heck out of each other, pretend we don't, and pretend we don't know that we know the other guy is doing the same.
So, back to Spectre. Casino Royal (Craig) was the beginning of a return to grace. Skyfall, while excellent, felt a little too Dark Knight to be Bond. Spectre, on the other hand, was home from the beginning Dia de los Muertos scene in Mexico City, masks, crowds, and all...and the villain...masterful!
If you miss traditional Bond, this movie is awesome! For those newer to Bond, you may not like this, but remember, the silly aspects aren't dumb, there is a deeper reasoning hidden there. If you don't enjoy it, then Bond truly never was your style of movie, but this Spectre is a true return to form for those of us longing for it!

I like Vin, but I never expect a AAA movie from the guy. He does Action and Sci-Fi B movies well, very well. This movie is exactly that, and it delivers. For Action/Sci-Fi people, this is a 5 star, but as that is not for everyone, it only gets 4. This reminded me of the original Blade movies...fun, lots of it.

Like most of the teen sci-fi movies, most are reminiscent of stories long before. This does not keep them from being entertaining, just not surprising. The new generation may find it different (4 instead of 3 stars for simply entertaining). Hunger Games-esque with less production.

It may be hard to believe, but I really enjoyed the Hobbit trilogy far more than the Rings. It just felt like Peter Jackson had some fondness that really shined though, and this movie is easily the best of the 3, pulling all the pieces together and bringing homage to an Unexpected Journey.

Most reviews have been almost unreasonably unfair about this game. It may be the same old Mario Party, but that means that anyone from kids to adults will have a great time in a big enough group. The addition of the Mario amiibo in a discounted package is a good value.
