Fear the Walking Dead is a jolt of riveting horror that is a well done prequel of sorts to the superior The Walking Dead. It examines the zombie apocalypse from the earliest stages. This makes the show intense because we know what in store for the cast as they blindly stumble into the nightmare. My only complaint is that the main characters are mostly unlikable and at times you can find yourself hoping the Walkers win out. But the show is still a jolt to the nerves and shows more substance with a second viewing.

The turtles are back in their second movie (not counting the original trilogy) for more wacky ninja action. While the plot is familiar there is an attempt to give the characters more personality. Stephen Amell is a welcome addition as hockey loving Casey Jones. The film is a non-stop swirl of great CGI effects and the 3-d is amazing. Mindless fun for the family, but might be too intense in spots for the youngest viewers.

Ash vs. Evil Dead is an all-stops-pulled TV series that pulls when it comes to bloody gore. I'm not a fan of gore but this is so over the top the show becomes a tongue in cheek live-action cartoon.In tone. It is more like Army of Darkness than the Evil Dead flicks. Nobody plays Bruce Campbell like Bruce Campbell and his fans will not be disappointed.

Though it deviates from the source material here and there the basic storylines remain true. Most of the episodes are great a few no so but the standout episode features Carol and Maggie as not so helpless captives. The Walk is a great, amazing film. It starts a little slowly but builds to a heart-stopping conclusion that is a technical CGI masterpiece. The plot is based on a true story about a young french wire walker who crossed between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The movie plays out like a thrilling caper movie as he and his friends scout out the building and set up the apparatus needed to pull the stunt off. It's interesting to see how easily the gang gained access to the building considering the structure's eventual fate. With that in mind, the film is at times bittersweet but in the end, a life affirming tribute to life and what is good in mankind.

Bone Tomahawk is a most unusual western. Starring the ever great Kurt Russell the film details the gruesome and grueling struggle of a small band of men, lead by Russell, against a band of cave dwelling throwbacks to rescue a damsel in distress. Beautifully filmed in the west, the movie is a little slow in spots but when the action ramps up, LOOK OUT! It contains some of the most cringe worthy horror ever filmed. I really enjoyed the clever dialogue and the older deputy, in my opinion, steals the show. If you don't mind the occasional gore this film is really worth a look.

Falling Skies has always been a favorite tv show for me. A Steven Spielberg production, the show has always featured top notch special effects and quality acting. This season, however did include a little too much over-acting but that is a minor point. It's nice to have a show actually wrap up with an actual ending that isn't a dream or so metaphysical people will be debating it forever. A quality show well worth the time it takes to watch all 5 seasons.

Pride Prejudice and Zombies is a very strange mash-up of completely different genres that somehow works to create a fun action laced adventure through Victorian England. The cast does a great job of playing it straight in some far-out situations. Of course, Jane Austin might be rising up herself, but let's hope she has a sense of humor.
