Different from the common fodder...

...That comes out of Hollywood. This is a film that was made in Argentina and it does not have an English audio track. So if you do not speak or understand Spanish, you will need to read along with the subtitles. This movie tells six different stories of everyday events that spiral out of control into something crazy. This is an entertaining movie, but is adult themed so should not be shown to children.

After an 18 year hiatus FNM has returned with a new record. This disc is like their last two releases in that you need to listen to it a few times before you can get an appreciation of the songs. The songs won't jump out and grab you, but will grow on you if you give it multiple listens.

Unique movie with impressive performances

Birdman seems to have a polarizing love/hate status with many individuals. Most people will say that they love the movie, or they hate it; I have yet to hear anyone say "It was just OK". This movie is structured differently than any other movie I have seen before. The director attempted to make this movie appear to be one continuous shot which is something I have never seen before. As a result, this movie does not employ the ever changing camera angles that one would find in almost any other movie. Some of the individual scenes in this movie are long continuous shots, and the performances by all the actors involved are impressive. Michael Keaton won an Oscar for his performance in this movie and I believe that it was well deserved. Birdman also has a unique score in that all of the background music in the movie is a singular jazz drummer. It is very different but yet it works very well in providing a audio background for the story.
Excellent movie. Highly recommended!

Could have been great

This movie demonstrated another stellar performance by Jake Gyllenhaal. It's really unfortunate that this performance did not earn him a nomination for an Academy Award. The story of this movie could have made for a very good movie. Unfortunately it just did not achieve such greatness. Well worth seeing but beware that this movie contains some graphic violence.

Classic movie, beautiful transfer to Blu Ray

This movie is a classic work of animation. I purchased this specifically because it is a Criterion release. The transfer of this film to Blu Ray has been wonderfully done by Criterion. The audio has been remastered and contains no traces of "noise" from the original recording.

Emotionally intense

Finally got to watch this for the first time. Wow, what a good movie! This film had an emotional intensity that is rarely seen in any movie. The intensity just kept ratcheting up until the finale of the film. I had read that this movie has a surprise ending, which is true; but the surprise was not what I was expecting considering everything in this film that built up to the finish.

Original and entertaining

I am not aware if this movie ever made it to theatrical release. I had seen a trailer for this movie about two years ago and routinely checked up on it to find out when it would arrive in theaters. I wanted to see this movie because the trailer piqued my interest. The look of Penn's character is modeled after Robert Smith of the Cure, but the role he plays has nothing to do with Robert Smith's life. This is an independent movie, so it moves along at a much slower pace than a large budget-large studio production. Even so, I thought this movie was entertaining and would recommend it to anyone looking for a movie that follows a different path than a lot of standard Hollywood fare.

Classic fare for those who like late 60's cars

This is a mediocre movie that is a classic for any gear head. Even though the plot is weak and this movie did not have any standout actors in it, any car guy will look past that because of what this movie depicts: a high speed run from Denver to San Francisco in a 1970 Dodge Challenger. This movie was remade in 1997 with Viggo Mortensen as the lead character, but this original version is still the better movie.
I purchased this to have this movie on BluRay, and the transfer to 1080 resolution was done well for this disc. It does not appear that the original movie was cleaned up much for this transfer, but the video and audio are of good quality.

This is an automotive classic that belongs in the home movie collection of any gear head! This is the original movie that tells the story of a coast-to-coast race. This movie predates "The Cannonball Run" by 5 years, and I consider this to be a much better movie. I can only hope that this movie will be available on BluRay in the near future!

Is this unit compatible with the Yamaha ysp-1400 and if is how do you connect them
Yes, this sub will work with the YSP-1400. To connect them you need a subwoofer cable that is connected from the "subwoofer out" jack on the back of the soundbar and the other end of the cable is connected to the only input on the backside of the sub. When you see the cable and the connections it becomes pretty self-explanatory.

Will this connect and work with the Rocketfish wireless sub woofer transmitter and receiver? I have a Yamaha receiver with 2 sub woofer outputs.
I cannot say with absolute certainty that this will work with the Rocketfish wireless kit, only because I am not running the sub this way. But the Rocketfish kit should work with this sub without issue. The Rocketfish kit will work with any sub that has an LFE input, which is the only input this Yamaha subwoofer has.
