Reference quality video for 4K + HDR

Over the past week I watched all six episodes of this show. Every episode contained beautiful imagery that really shined in HDR. While I could find favorites in each episode, I think my favorite was deserts; even though you might think this episode would be all monochrome sand colored, it actually has a lot of surprising vibrant color content. If you own a 4K television and a 4K blu ray player this disc set should be in your collection!

This is not a horror movie. It is not even scary, but that is not the intent of this movie. This film paints a unique story about the passage of time. The film is an independent studio film, produced by A24 and distributed by Lionsgate. Being an independent film the story moves at a much slower pace and has longer scenes without the rapid camera angle changes found in most big studio films today. I really enjoyed this movie for the story it tells, and I am glad to have added this film to my collection.

This movie is a dark story with a slow burn up to the climax. It is kind of an edge of your seat thriller with a well developed story/plot line that holds your attention. Only warning I would give is that this movie has some gruesome violence portrayed in it.

Happened upon this in a BB store.

This is a remastered edition of Christmas Vacation which was released on Dec 1st 2015. I had read a positive review of this that told me this edition had been properly remastered to provide a much improved video quality over prior blu ray releases of this film. I had checked the Best Buy website a few times in December as I wanted to purchase this to watch with family at Christmas, but this was not listed on the website. Then a couple weeks before Christmas I was in a store and was walking through the movie aisles and found this on the shelf. The review of this disc that I had read was correct, the video quality of this blu ray is much better than prior BR releases. The studio did a great job of remastering the video, but they did not remaster the audio - this disc has only stereo sound, not multi-channel. Still a great comedic film to watch during the holidays!

Summer blockbuster

As far as summer blockbusters go, this film ranks right up there with the best of them. This movie generated enough ticket sales during it's theatrical release to propel it to the number 3 spot on the list of all time worldwide box office grosses.
In terms of story and performances, this movie could have been better. I have to give credit to the two child actors, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson as they both did a really good job on their roles in the movie.
The special effects in this movie are top shelf and are visually stunning, especially in 3D. The 3D version of this film is crisp and clear with very good use of depth. The picture is very sharp and clean with great detail. The audio is very good, and this film really makes use of the surround channels more so than many movies today.
My only complaint about this film is that Bryce Dallas Howard's character wears heels through this entire film. When the action ramps up in this movie she never changes her shoes or takes off her heels even when she is running through the wilderness of the park. This was a tad bit unbelievable for me.

What a classic film! A film that is styled as a documentary about a rock band late in their career, but everything about the movie is fake! That is the primary reason this movie is comedic gold.
I only wish that MGM had invested more money in the transfer of this to blu ray. This film does not look much better than a DVD.

Somber and dark movie

This movie is a grim portrayal of drug addiction. The story centers around several people who all have interpersonal relations with each other, but each of them are dealing with their own demons and their own addictions. The film shows how each person succumbs to their addiction, and the high personal price they pay for their addiction.
This is not an uplifting movie.
Interestingly, this movie has a seven channel audio track, which is put to good use in the movie with sound effects.

This is a Russian film about a regular man fighting against the local mayor over his home and property. The story has a slow build to it, and the outcome is not easily predicted. This is an excellent film with great acting by all of the lead characters, even though the story is dark and depressing.

Is this unit compatible with the Yamaha ysp-1400 and if is how do you connect them
Yes, this sub will work with the YSP-1400. To connect them you need a subwoofer cable that is connected from the "subwoofer out" jack on the back of the soundbar and the other end of the cable is connected to the only input on the backside of the sub. When you see the cable and the connections it becomes pretty self-explanatory.

Will this connect and work with the Rocketfish wireless sub woofer transmitter and receiver? I have a Yamaha receiver with 2 sub woofer outputs.
I cannot say with absolute certainty that this will work with the Rocketfish wireless kit, only because I am not running the sub this way. But the Rocketfish kit should work with this sub without issue. The Rocketfish kit will work with any sub that has an LFE input, which is the only input this Yamaha subwoofer has.
