Best wireless mesh router

This is a review is for the Linksys Velop 3-pack. I have replaced my router to try this one. First and foremost, you need to download the Linksys app to setup this device and the entire process is fairly easy. The app also guides you as to how far or too close the additional units are so that you can place them at optimal distance. I wish there was also an option for traditional web setup like the other routers. The design of these units look good, like a tall speaker and blends well with anything on the table. This becomes a wireless mesh router by using multiple units similar to Google WiFi and Eero. Each unit supports triband wireless technology. You setup one as your router and the remaining two are like extenders. If you prefer, you can connect the units with network cable to eliminate any wireless loss. You can add more units if you have a bigger place or you think the 3 units doesn't cover your entire house. The base of each unit has two ethernet ports, a reset button, AC adapter pin and an ON/OFF switch. The router has a small light on top of the unit to indicate the status. The first unit's ethernet port is connected to the modem. I am sure you can use a switch if you need more ethernet ports, although I haven't tried that part yet. The unit has a small hole at the bottom of the base where all the cables can be routed through which makes the wire management neat. It comes with Amazon Alexa integration for voice commands to control the network. I with Linksys would add more choices like Microsoft Cortana or Apple Siri so that users will have the option to use with their existing home automation assistant. The speeds have been blazing fast and the connection is reliable pretty too. Overall, this is a pretty good system and I have been happy with this so far. This maybe my preferred mesh router system over the others.

Great sleep aiding device

This is my first time using such a noise machine. Its very small and easy to use. It is powered by an AC adapter. But you can also connect it to a powerful USB port. This is basically a white noise producer that will mask other noises that keep you up all night. This device has a simple on/off switch and also has an option to keep it on only for 60 minutes maybe just until you fall asleep. You can control the volume of the noise to the level you want. The device has 10 different fan noises and 10 different white noise to choose from. I used the LectroFan chart to find the optimum setting. You can find what kind of noise is disturbing your sleep and then use that to block that external noise. Also, it will remember you setting when you power it down and turn it back up instead of setting the noise number and level again. I went through all the different noises. When you cycle back, you will hear a beep indicating you are back to the noise #1. I think this is a great device and recommend for anyone who needs help with falling sleep when earplugs are not of much help.

Simple and effective Wi-Fi network coverage

This review is for the 3-pack Google wifi. I have been using it for a week now and it replaced my router completely. Each unit looks like a elongated hockey puck. Setup was fairly easy. You need to have a Google account and the Google Wi-Fi app for the setup though. There is no website and not many options to configure like a traditional router. The light in the middle of the device tells you the status whether it is in setup mode (blue) or in connected mode (white). The device has a power input and two Ethernet ports. You need to use one of the Ethernet port to connect to the modem. The other port can be used for a switch to expand the ports. One good part about the combo pack is that only one is needed to be connected to the modem. There could be some signal loss between the devices if you keep it too far. But this can be avoided by connecting the units together using ethernet cable. The device supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands and the connection is reliable between the devices. I have setup the 3 devices spread around for maximum coverage. A mesh network is created around the house and as you move, your device will connect to the closest and strongest access point. I was able to connect all my 11 devices (Xbox One, PS3, Phones, PC, etc.) easily. The connection and data transfer speeds are pretty strong. I never had a mesh Wi-Fi system before and it seems to be working great so far. Definitely would recommend it for anyone who needs such a setup.

Reliable, Latest & Fantastic!

Great router with easy setup. I replaced my old Linksys router with this one and have been using for about 2 weeks. The device takes you through step by step procedure to set up the router. I was able to configure this in no time and was able to connect all my 11 devices (Xbox, PS3, Phones, PC, etc.) instantly. The connection and the range are strong and reliable as well. It has both 2.4 and 5 GHz, but I primarily set up 5 GHz for all my devices for faster speed and let the 2.4 GHz be for guests. There is also a guess access option. Router has been amazing and this is my first MIMO router. I can see the difference in the connection and data transfer speeds, no more lagging. This model does look like it is a major improvement over the previous ones. It does come with smartphone app to configure, but I used the Linksys software. Also, there are parental controls, device prioritization and Open source firmware options, which I don’t think I will use in the near future as I do not see the need for it. But it is good to have these options. Overall, this is a great router and I would definitely recommend for anyone who is in the market for new router.

I was using Fitbit flex and I replaced it with the Band 2. I like the idea of fitness and smartwatch combined into one product. I use it with my Windows Phone. The materials are soft and it feels light on the wrist. I love the sleep tracking function. I use it everyday now. Smart alarm is another great feature. I get 2 days of battery life and it takes about 1.5 hours to charge it completely. I just wish it had bigger battery for longer life.

True laptop replacement

I bought this as an upgrade to my Surface Pro 2. It is definitely worth it and it does everything a laptop would do. Having my Surface Pro 4, I use less and less of my Dell laptop. I never had the screen flickering issue that some users faced. Windows Hello is great. No need to type in the password, the IR camera scans for your facial recognition and it signs you in instantly even in the dark. Surface Pro’s are clearly ahead of the pack. It is a good choice as a laptop replacement.
