Very good fast two sided printer easy on the ink

I have a number of these deployed at worksites and utilize another at home. This printer is easy on ink. Good print, copy and scan speeds. Document and photo quality very good. Two sided printing easy and quick. On the down side it has a large front to back footprint due to the duplexer. On occasion streaks appear on scanned and copied items. Power cycling the printer solves this problem.

I bought this laptop to replace a Gateway 450 business machine. The majority of the devices that I connect to in the field utilize RS232 communications. This machine like most others does not have a serial port. Most but not all of the applications I utilize I have been able to get to function on this machine. It has a very good display for outdoor work. The battery life is very good. The keyboard has good tactile feel.

will this work with an older windows 98 secong gen computer
I have a hunter alignment rack and laser aligner which uses a sony computer tower and we need to put a wireless adapter on to be able to download new drivers and use a newer printer. Or just send to other printer at another station. will one of your adapters work. this one states that its backwards compatible with 802 etc.

Does it come with Windows 8 or 8.1 installed?
The specs say it comes with Win 8.1, but reading several reviews, it sounds like it comes with Win 8 and you have to install 8.1 yourself. Can someone please verify which version of Windows it comes with?
