I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet.
Campaign: Okay...
Online: Horrible..& I don't know why. The guys that worked on this also did Battlefield 2, which in my opinion is the best FPS multiplayer out right now...Including CoD 2.
Bottom line...rent now, buy never....
What's great about it: Not much of anything...maybe the campaign
What's not so great: Just about everything else...smh. What a letdown
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Monkey See...Monkey Do.!!

We have another good action/beat-em up title on ours hands with this one folks. Enslaved takes you on an epic journey across a post apocalyptic New York riddled with war machines to find freedom.
You start your journey escaping the slaver's ship..(with your partner Trip) that held you both captive. This level serves as a tutorial of sorts but as soon as you get off the ship the fun really begins. The combat is pretty straight forward...its not really that deep, although they have an upgrade system to it doesn't add that much to the hand to hand combat. Monkey's weapon (his staff) can shoot plasma and shock bullets at enemies, which gives you a needed advantage in some battle situations. So eventhough there may not be an extensive combo system the combat is still fun...plus the takedowns are pretty cool too. Your partner Trip helps out too. She scans the areas for traps, enemies and alternate paths, and she can distract enemies so you can sneak by and get the drop on them...which is pretty useful.
Another cool part of the game is the platforming. Monkey's movements are really, really cool. He can effortlessly run along ledges, jump gaps...etc. He also has this thing that's called the "Cloud." It's like a little hover board that monkey rides around on that can help him in certain spots on the board. Pretty much the environment is his playground.
Bottom Line...this is a great game and worth the money...pick it up.
What's great about it: Graphics, Story, The platforming
What's not so great: IDK...the games not perfect but i can't really tell

The smell of trash assails you as you vault over a low dividing wall and right into a pile of refuse. You stand up in disgust but immediately trot down the dank alley before you; there isn't a second to lose in this desperate flight for your life. Your partner silently shadows you as you stalk to the next street. He may be an impulsive psychopath, but right now you have bigger problems. Your pursuers won't be long before they, too, are knee-deep in trash, but every escape holds a possible enemy. You scan the street, assess the possibilities and start to step out of the alley, prepared to casually blend in with the scurrying pedestrians. Just before your foot hits the pavement, your eyes lock onto the crisp uniform of the Shanghai police force bobbing through the crowd straight in your direction. You turn to vault back over the alley wall but hear the shouting voices of your pursuers on the other side. It seems that escape is impossible; how will you get out of this impossible situation?Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days takes you on a heart-pumping journey through the streets of Shanghai. Play as the psychopathic Lynch or the ex-mercenary Kane as you evade your pursuers and jump, run and fight your way through seedy streets and gritty rooftops. Take on the underworld in this brutal crime shooter but keep an eye on your partner, you never know if he'll snap. Fragile alliance multiplayer mode, arcade modes, single player, online and offline co-op modes offer plenty of opportunities to test your shooting skills as you side with these two unhinged criminals.

The 2 crazies are back for more...

Kane and Lynch are back and are in deeper $#!* than ever. This time around you play as Lynch..(single player) who lives in Shanghai. Kane shows up for what is supposed to be their last job. Before they even get to the job something goes completely wrong and without giving up story plots, lets just say the $#!* really hitz the fan.
This is one of the most challenging shooters out there right now. The gun-fights are hectic and the AI isn't slow either. For starters Kane is a good shot. He will clean up a few of the guys you miss even take some out before you do. The enemy is pretty smart too...given the chance they will flank you and do seriuos damage. Forget about the online...its absolutely garbage, and that's all i'll say about that. Playing the game with two players is absolutely a blast...ala the 2nd. Army of 2 game. So the bottom line is this...it's a great campaign game especially with 2 live players, and stay away from the bad online play...
What's great about it: Story, action, and the helicopter level..you'll see when u get there.
What's not so great: The online gaming...

FPS Brilliance

Now THIS is a First Person Shooter. From the campaign, down to the great online gameplay...and I do mean great, but I’ll get to that in a minute. But on a side note...was it just me or did any1 else notice how similar the covers for MW2 and BC2 are...hmmm.
Now in the main campaign you play as Marlow who is part of "B" Company, as you all know, and travel across the jungle, desert to uncover...blah blah blah, you get the point. Long story short it is one of the best campaign modes in a FPS to date. The destruction is massive, the shootouts are intense, the story is great and it has a nice length to it.
Now the online.....this is where the game shines, in my opinion. They have the typical deathmatches; capture the flag types and more. The slight twist they put on them is what sets them apart. With the capture the flag types(Conquest)... not only do you have the option to capture each base, but there is also a kill limit. ..so the more bases you hold the more number of respawns your squad gets, so your choice, go 4 the killz or the bases. They have the squad deathmatch but the also have what is called Rush, where you play as the attackers or defenders. The defenders have unlimited respawns and the attackers again have a certain amount of respawns that refill after they capture the two defending bases b4 moving on to the next.
On top of the great modes they have vehicles. Now i dont fancy ridin around in a tank or helicopter but it is fun.
Now the last FPS review i did was MAG and i said its been the most fun i've had playin an online FPS...but that was b4 i started playing this hard body...MW2 & MAG have a monster on their heels and its called Battlefield: Bad Company 2...

A 2D Fighting Masterpiece...

Blazblue is back for round 2 and is causing the same beautiful havoc that it's known for. Ragna, Bang & co. are back with 3 new fighters (My personal favorite; Hazama) to slightly beef up this unique fighting roster. They added a few new modes including the very useful "Challenge" mode ala SSF4. This mode helps you learn combos fo your favorite fighter, so you can get a better handle on your character instead of just mashing away at your buttons. On the topic of controls they are pretty solid. Your fighter pretty much does what you want it to when you want it to. Balance used to be a factor in the old game and it seems liked they tweaked it...(slightly...). Breaking combos has been slightly tweaked as well. All good signs for this fighting franchise. Bottom line is this...if you love fighting [2D] games like i do, this addition to your library will be more than welcome...

A FPS...on a Grand Scale...*Valor Squad* all day.!
on July 24, 2010

from BK All Day
MAG is a FPS that is on a level like no other FPS. What sets it apart...#1; it's strictly online. No offline campaign/story. Your only objective is to pick your affiliation, gear up, and wreck shop on every other faction. #2; it really focuses on "Squad" Combat. I put it in quotes because if you venture off 2 far on your own, you will have minimal success. You may be able 2 get a kill or two but you will soon be overwhelmed by 5 to 6 other player or taken out by a sniper with a good eye. #3; NO LAG. I've played other games online from fighting games to other FPS's and have had more lag problems than i've had with MAG.
They have a decent selection of weapons and "perks," although they could have used a little more. Leveling up is a grind but it feels very rewarding whenever you do. I will say this though, i have had more fun playing this FPS online more than any other FPS, and i own MW2 and Battlefield: Bad Co.2. Not taking anything away from these 2 great titles at all, i'm just saying. Anyway all FPS lovers should definitely pick this up...you wont be disappointed, trust. VALOR SQUAD BABY.!!
What's great about it: The "Squad" based gameplay, no lag, the sheer number of players
What's not so great: Don't really care for the sniper rifles

Nothing out of the ordinary...but it passes

P.O.P is a decent title...that could have pushed the envelope a bit further, but for what it was...it passes. This P.O.P is very reminiscent of the earlier P.O.P titles. Combat is familiar with few tweaks here and there. The Prince is given new powers that are incorporated in his fighting, like stone skin 4 added defense, trails of fire, ice blast from your sword, and a giant whirlwind 2 suck up enemies. These are a nice touch but weren't really awe inspireing enough 4 me. They could have done more in this area (My opinion). The 1 aspect of this game that i did like was the movement of the Prince. As a BIG fan of Parkour Free Running (if you don't know what that is...look it up, it's dope) i loved how the Prince got around. All the precision jumps, cat to lache grabs, wall runs, bar work...were done well. Other than that the game didn't do muich else for me...i would only recommend this game if you really have nothing else to play and just want to kill time b4 a big title drops...

Another game where choices DO matter...
on June 4, 2010

Alpha Protocol was another 1 of those games that i was waiting on to be released but just kept being pushed back. Now that it's here i muist say...it hasn't dissapointed. You play as Michael Thornton...cue song Secret Agent Man...lol. Your job is to find the men behind the bombing of a commercial airlines flight, and this is where the fun begins. The first thing you get to do is choose what type of operative you want 2 be and run though a couple training courses, which serve as a tutorial of sorts, then its, off to your 1st mission.
Aside from all the good action, and great story, 2 things really sold me on this game. 1st, it's an RPG at its core, so the character progression is wonderful. For every tactical, sneaky, super spy thing you do, you earn exp which in turn earns you points that you can allocate to Secret Agent Man, so your agent actually plays the way you want him to. 2nd is the "Choice Factor." As you go through the game you encounter many different people, so friend, some foe and some indefferent. When you talk to these characters, dialogue options pop up. Depending on how u answer them you can actually make them like you, or not. You can turn potential enemies to mutual friends and vice versa. Doing so can earn you perks for your character, extra missions, money, weapons etc., so mind your tounge...lol.
So pick this one up...trust me it will be worth...
What's great about it: RPG at its core, Weapon Customization is cool, Character progression is rewarding, Great story, Good action
What's not so great: The boss fight with the guy in the disco...lol, some graphical glitches here-n-there

Speed Killz, in a Split Second...lol.
on May 21, 2010
Posted by: sdot217
from BK All Day
Split Second is a solid (Arcade) racing title. It's full of speed, excitement, and mayhem. Now i've heard this game being compared to the likes of Burnout, and how people are just calling it a clone. But when you look at it, it is in it's own category. I say this because Burnout's mayhem is caused through vehicular conflict...bumping cars into traffic, slamming them into walls etc. Split Second's mayhem is caused through environmental destruction caused by the driver. As u drive, drift, and draft your way through the course you fill a meter that you can use 2 trigger these race changing environmental explosions, to stop the other drivers. This is 1 racer that it's safe 2 say you are not safe out in front because just like you, the other drivers can trigger explosions that can knock you right out of the lead.
I haven't gone online yet...but i can guess with seven other live drivers with different driving stylez blowin stuff up...it should be a blast.
Bottom line...this is a good soild racer with lots of potential. It's fun, fast, and oh such a blast, literally...BOOM.!!!
What's great about it: It's fun, It's fast and it reminds me of 1 of my favorite movies, "Death Race"
What's not so great: No real cars, but that's real minor...

True Western Saga

from BK All Day
Red Dead is a great fit for the sandbox game genre. It's right up there with GTA4, & Just Cause2, just to name a few. It may take a step back in time but not in gameplay. Who knew they had bullet time back in the dayz...eat your heart out Neo...lol. Anyway, the story is great and presented well. You play as John Marston a former Bad@$$, who has to catch his former running mate in exchange for his family's life. All the characters are memorable, in true Rockstar fashion, and all the western accents are done very very well. People were so polite back then...lol. The gun fights are good as well. Shooting people on horseback has never been so fun. U can do all the small things that make western life fun...horse wrangling, games of horseshoes, etc.
Bottom line...pick up this gun slinging, horseback riding masterpiece and get your Yeee Haaa on.
What's great about it: 1). It's Rockstar Baby, 2).The western feel is real genuine, 3).Another good quality sandbox title
What's not so great: If I had 2 pick something right now it would be that the horses are a little stiff but thats really minor.
