Good Adaptation of a Classic Movie
on November 15, 2008
Posted by: robertho
This is a great adaptation of the classic movie. While I will agree that the plot starts out a little weak, it did take long for the movie to move in a new direction. The action is fast paced and intense, but Tom Cruise tends to overact. But he gets away with it as it makes him seem a little crazy and desperate. Dakota Fanning does a great job and even provides a little comedy at the beginning. Overall, this is a great movie to watch and keep in your collection.
What's great about it: Awesome CGI
What's not so great: Tom Cruise tends to "overact"

Best TV Sitcom
on November 14, 2008

I love watching The Office on TV and on DVD. I own all the Seasons and it just keeps getting better. If you work in an office and you enjoy the dry sort of humor of Seinfeld, you'll love The Office. The DVD's are always stuffed full of extra's and deleted scenes!
What's great about it: The DVD Extras are always great
What's not so great: Nothing

Great Car Movie
on November 13, 2008

This movie features one of the best all-time car chase scenes at the end. I've seen this movie dozens of times and I still enjoy watching it. One of my all time favorites even though Nicolas Cage's acting isn't that great.

Good Family Movie
on November 12, 2008

This is a great fantasy/fairy tale movie the whole family will enjoy. Its provides a unique twist to the basic fairy tale, and will keep you entertained throughout the movie. Michelle Pfeiffer does a great job acting and the visual effects are good. However, this movie may be a little to scary for very young children.
What's great about it: Good story and visual effects.
What's not so great: May be a little to scary for younger children.

John Frankenheimer's director's cut of Reindeer Games comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles, but the soundtrack is closed-captioned. In addition to the never-before-seen footage added to the film, the disc offers a commentary track recorded by Frankenheimer, the trailer, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and the original cut of the altered scenes in order to compare them to how Frankenheimer intended to put them together. This is a very good disc from Disney/Buena Vista.

Awesome Movie!

This is a great action/suspense/thriller movie that will keep you guessing until the end. Gary Sinise does a great job in this movie as well as Charlize Theron. Not one of their better known movies and it can be a little "kookie" at times, but it will keep you entertained the entire time.
What's great about it: Great action/suspense/thriller movie.

Director Francis Lawrence's I Am Legend arrives on DVD in a handsomely packaged yet curiously lacking two-disc special edition courtesy of Warner Home Video . Presented in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio, the picture is near flawless and the Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack makes excellent use of the film's inventive sound scheme -- the sound of the encroaching vampires (courtesy of vocalist Mike Patton) shifting from speaker to speaker in a manner that's genuinely unsettling. Four visually striking animated shorts originally released to promote the film offer variations on the themes that drive I Am Legend, are decidedly downbeat yet undeniably beautiful to behold. Unfortunately, viewers seeking to learn anything at all about the production will have to have a computer in able to do so, as the "Intense Bonus Material Databank" is only viewable via a DVD-ROM PC Weblink. A director's commentary track would have been a welcome addition given that the filmmakers were forced to re-shoot the ending of the film, but sadly the only additional features other than the animated shorts are trailers for Lost Boys: The Tribe, The Dark Knight, Speed Racer, and a promotional spot for Blu-Ray. The inclusion of an alternate theatrical version is indeed something to be celebrated as the original cut more faithfully conveys the tone and ideas of Richard Matheson's original novella, yet the decision to include it on an extra disc rather than simply branching the original film is a curious one give that there's only a four-minute difference in running time. One can only suspect that a more feature-intensive special edition is being prepared for future release.

Awesome Movie

If you enjoy a good action/suspense/thriller movie you'll enjoy this one. Will Smith does a great job acting even though he is by himself most of the time. The ending is a little weak and left me wanting a little more closure. Be sure to watch the alternate ending as I think it is actually a better ending. Great movie!
What's great about it: Great suspense/action/thriller movie.
What's not so great: The ending was sort of weak.

Another Date Movie
on November 9, 2008

This is another movie you should see on a date, the type of movie you watch together one time. There are some funny parts, but its the same type of movie you've seen before with a predicable outcome. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey do a fair job acting but nothing award worthy. Its worth watching once, but nothing you need for your collection.
What's great about it: Some funny parts
What's not so great: Predictable plot and ending

Funny Movie
on November 8, 2008

Normally, I do not care for Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcheror and their style of humor/acting. But I was suprised and this movie is actually very funny and entertaining. Although the plot and ending of the movie were expected and predictable, I was entertained enough to want to keep watching and see what exactly happens. A good comedy/romance movie to watch with your lover!

A lonely young boy vows to protect the rapidly growing hatchling that emerges from a mysterious egg found on the shores of a Scottish loch in My Dog Skip and Tuck Everlasting director Jay Russell's screen adaptation of writer Dick King-Smith's popular children's novel. Angus MacMorrow (Alex Etel) has made a most unusual discovery, and he's about to find out just how one innocent boy's greatest fantasy can also be a frightened adult population's greatest threat. Unable to identify the egg that he found while walking the sandy shores, Angus is even more perplexed about the discovery and the creature that emerges resembles what comes to be known as a Water Horse, which Angus names Crusoe. As the bizarre new life form begins to grow at an alarming rate, it soon becomes obvious that Angus will not be able to keep it a secret for very long, and the young boy will have to do some seriously quick thinking if he is to keep his new friend safe.

Great Family Movie
on November 7, 2008

This is a great family movie that kids and adults will both appreciate. It puts a very unique story telling of the Loch Ness sea monster tale. Its definetely not a comedy, but rather a good drama/adventure type of movie. There a few minor scary parts that might scare very young kids., but other than that its a great movie!
What's great about it: Excellent Story

Classic Disney animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy penned by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. Though Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once-carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) whose kind compassion helps her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world.

Great Modern Day Fairy Tale
on November 6, 2008

This is a great family movie that everyone will enjoy watching. Its a great modern day fairy tale with a slight twist. The acting and plot will keep everyone entertained and watching for the entire film. However, I found that Princess Giselle gets a little annoying by the end of the movie (but the kids really like her). Susan Sarandon does a great job playing the evil queen.

What is better a tv stand or a tv wall mount?

for a 32" lcd tv.
I prefer to mount on the wall whenever possible. Wall mounting will protect your TV from getting accidently knocked over or bumped in to and can provide a better viewing angle if mounted correctly. If you can hide the wires, a wall-mounted HDTV will look like a work of art in your home! Plus it will free up some floor space.
