"I know just about every one of you have either seen this on Vhs, Laserdisc, Dvd or on Tv, so I will skip reviewing of the film. If you are a Cruise fan and have this already on Dvd, you will be happy to hear that this Blu-Ray trumps all previous editions of this film. Video is a 8/10, reason being is the cut scenes using military stock of dog fighting aircraft are lacking a bit, compared to the production scenes, which are about as life like as you will ever see. Down to Cruise's crooked teeth and Kellys massive head and body, hulking over Tom.
The Audio is superb with a very well done TrueHD soundtrack with excellent balance amongst the 5.1 channels making TopGun sound better than it ever has!
Extra's take you behind the scene's from conception to production rounding off this Blu-Ray, as a must have for any Tom Cruise fan..
Video 8/10
Audio 9/10
Xtra's 7/10
Bestbuy Price 10/10"

Package Description: Quit your job, sell the dog, and run wild in the streets! The universe will never be the same now that executive producers Matt Groening and David X. Cohen have crammed four of their all-time favorite FUTURAMA episodes onto one astonishing DVD. There's no doubt about it - the Futurama Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection ranks as one of the greatest Maniac Fun Collections of all time. FUTURAMA is the epic, Emmy Award-winning sci-fi comedy from Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons. Set in New New York City in the year 3000, it's a future unlike anything you've ever imagined... unless you've imagined booze-powered robots, semi-literate lobsters, and horrifying yet sexy cyclopses. Someday all comedies will be this funny... but you'll be dead!

The military thriller Rules of Engagement comes to DVD with a sharp 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio. There is an English Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, as well as English and French soundtracks in Dolby Digital Surround. There are English subtitles available on the disc. In addition to an audio commentary by Academy Award-winning director William Friedkin, this disc includes a behind-the-scenes featurette containing interviews with the cast and crew.

4 of 5 stars for the military drama movie Rules of Engagement. Let's start by saying any movie with Tommy Lee Jones ad Samuel L Jackson is one that I will like, both are among my favorite actors. Our two lead characters fought together during Viet Nam and experienced extreme action. Moving forward in time Jackson's character is still active in the Marines and is picked to do an embassy extraction in the middle east. His mission encounters heavy automatic weapon fire as they touch-down in the embassy compound. Extracting the Ambassador and his family, fire become heavier killing and wounding several Marines. Jackson eventually orders his troops to return fire killing over 80 people outside of the embassy. The key question was, were these people armed and firing upon the embassy? If so, they were combatants; if not they were civilians. The movie shifts to a legal and courtmarshall drama. Jackson asks his old friend Jones to be his attorney.
A very well made movie. Great action intensely photographed. Solid characters and real drama. This is a long movie but well worth the time to watch. I do recommend it!"

Wolfgang Petersen's do-or-die high-seas epic makes a smooth transition to DVD from Warner Bros. A gorgeous, anamorphic, 2.35:1 widescreen transfer and Dolby 5.1 Sound brings the titular storm howling to life. In addition, the disc is awash in extras, including a collection of commentaries from director Petersen, author Sebastian Junger, and key members of the visual effects team. Each provides unique insights into the making of the movie as well as into the real story that inspired it. The DVD also includes a "making of" special that first aired on HBO, a documentary on the real "perfect storm" of 1991, a host of storyboards and concept art, and the obligatory trailers and cast and crew bios. Overall, this DVD takes what was essentially a big-budget popcorn flick and outfits it with enough sights and sounds to make it a rather seaworthy addition to someone's collection.

Tim Burton's remake of Planet of the Apes gets the deluxe treatment from 20th Century Fox on this release. The disc offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, while a Spanish soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a pair of audio commentaries (one by director Burton and a second by composer Danny Elfman), a half-dozen documentaries, extended scenes, multi-angle capabilities for some scenes, trailers, television commercials, a still art gallery, and a music video. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access a script-to-screen comparison. This is a superb disc.

"Any Tim Burton film is going to be dark, creepy, scary and melancholy. Enter "Planet Of The Apes", the 2002 version. Yes, the story line veers away from the original movie, yet the plot remains the same. Mark Wahlberg performs convincingly as an upset astronaut, looking for his missing astronaut monkey. The one major drawback to his mission is that he winds up on a planet of the future that is overpowered and outsmarted by apes. The social commentary throughout this film gives it a unique quality, for example, sympathetic apes defending humans, political apes debating the rights of humans and an ape army dictated by an out of control, psychotic, ape general named Thade. Kudos to the make-up and special effects. The scene depicting an army of angry apes hunting down humans in a thick jungle and taking them by force is terrifying to say the least. The ending to this film makes this re-make worth the rewind. If you think the movie itself is a terrifying nightmare you never want to have happen to you, the climactic ending is doubly worse! I simply cannot compare this film to the original classic, I can only say in my opinion, this is one scary movie worth owning."

If any movie was made for DVD, XXX, a video game disguised as a film, is the one. And what a DVD! Though it could easily have been a two-disc set, Columbia Pictures opted for a single platter, but loaded it up. To begin with is an exceptional 40-minute documentary called "A Filmmaker's Diary," covering everything from pre- to post-production. Beyond this are three more featurettes on the vehicles, Vin Diesel, and the world of XXX. The final featurette is a pathetic promotional piece for Pontiac's GTO. This is nothing more than a commercial for their upcoming car and has little to do with the movie. Along with that is a brief section on some visual effects for the avalanche scene. The shots are silent so the optional commentary by Joel Hynek of Digital Domain is almost necessary. In addition are ten deleted scenes with optional director's commentary, a music video from Gavin Rossdale for "Adrenaline," some filmographies, and the theatrical trailer for this film, plus trailers for Anger Management and Darkness Falls. If that wasn't enough, director Rob Cohen provides a scene-specific commentary that is really interesting and never dull. While the supplements are outstanding, the image and sound equal them in every way. Possibly even better than the image is the sound. The 5.1 Dolby Digital track (a DTS would have equally rocked, but isn't offered) is loud, loud, and loud. Dialogue is surprising not obscured, but this track is alive throughout the film. Surrounds are aggressive and used at just the right moments for wonderful effect. Finally, the image is framed at 2.35:1 and, of course, anamorphic. A pan and scan version is available separately, but with this type of film, any cut in picture size would ruin the effect. It's reference quality all the way. Detail is solid, and the darker scenes show no sign of breakdown. Would anything less be expected anymore? Certainly not. Colors are equally strong, with a subdued saturation that mimics the theatrical print perfectly. The critics tended to hate this film, but if you want action, and you want an exceptional DVD to go along with it, go no further than XXX.

XXX (Diesel) is a thief that gets caught and has a choice and he chooses to help the U.S. Government. On the job he falls in love with a Beautiful women that works for the man that he was sent to get Intel on. Everyone that loves action packed movies must see this movie."
