Nice to have but ....

Verified Purchase:Yes
For 49.99 on sale hard to walk away as have been eyeing this for sometime. One of our original remote's buttons were becoming more and more unresponsive and this seemed a good alternative.
It is. Kind of.
Have had the remote for about a month and admittedly I have not spent a lot of time learning the ins and out of the device in part because I didn't think I would have to, it's advertised as an easy to use, greatest thing since sliced bread device.
Functions don't go to the keys I assigned them to when doing the online set up and order of devices has changed and IDK why. Wish that with all the buttons available that you could have separate sets of discreets button for various devices. Instead you have to push a button to bring up list of devices, push another button to select that device then puch more buttons to finally get to the function you want to use.
I still use the remote, it has a good feel when held and works well in left or right hand. But I tire of devices that do not work as advertised, maybe it's because I'm not so enthralled with technology as I once was and I want it to be transparent in my life, to be toaster easy to use and have it integrate into my lifestyle with having to alter my lifestyle to suit the technology.
Then again I haven't had my morning Coke and brerakfast mufin sandwhich yet so perhaps my opinion will improve later in the day.
Still glad I bought the Harmony, just not knock my socks off thrilled.

What's great about it: Comes on just by picking it up
What's not so great: Still miss discreet buttons of original remotes

For $900 and NOT a smart TV this is a good one

Internet Connectable?No
Retiring a malfunctioning Samsung 56" DLP and all we wanted was a TV. Not a smart TV. Just a TV. This model fit the bill.
First: Only 2 HDMI inputs - Not a deal breaker for us. Our HD and Blu-ray are routed through our Yamaha and the receiver has 3 more HDMI connections so we're good to go for years to come. There is only one HDMI cable going from the receiver to the TV. The Comcast box uses the component connections on the TV
Second: No audio output - Again not a deal breaker for us. The built in speakers actually sound quite good in our listening environment. More than adequate for casual TV and movie audio. Your experience may vary. For the wake the neighbors kind of sound experience we use the sound from the Yamaha receiver.
If I'm not mistaken its sister TV, EH6003 has an audio output. This might be the source of confusion on this issue.
By the way, the EH model is side lit while this model. the FH is back lit. So it is not the thinnest of LED lit TVs. Still less than 4" if that matters to you.
Now the fun part, sharing how very, very nice this TV is which we got for $899.99.
1. Easy peasy set up.
2. Great picture right out of the box considering we're upgrading from a DLP set pushing 6 years and badly misbehaving.
3. Only a little tinkering with some of the settings using as a guide; a blend of personal preferences, picture settings others have shared here and elsewhere and the THX set up on a Pixar Blu-ray. Avatar never looked so good.
4. Remote control has well marked buttons. However, for some it might feel a bit cramped, it is a compact remote.
5. Because this is not a smart TV the remote has very few buttons that would see little to no use.
6. Onscreen menus provide short explanation for functions you highlight before you make any changes.
7. Only 8 Phillips screws to connect base to TV, relative light weight for size and well thought out packaging makes assembly by just one person a real possibility. In our case it took me less than 30 minutes from opening the box to sitting down and watching a movie.
Any downers for us? Very minor ones
1. The Owner's Manual is the fold out map variety which means smallish type and not real handy to use. It has all the necessary info but any prior experience with a Samsung TV and their menus will serve you well here.
2. Wish the remote used AA instead of AAA batteries
3. Seemed just a wee bit flexy on its base though I suspect this is the case with all larger screens and not really a design fault. And I have to admit I was pushing on the TV to see what would happen to satisfy my own curiosity. I was satisfied that it was stable enough. But if I were you I would still try to keep youngsters and relatives with a history of clumsiness away from the TV. Or mount it using a wall bracket.
4. TV does seem to have a sweet spot for viewing and viewers too far off axis might notice the far side of the screen appearing just a bit lighter than the side they're closest to.
5. Though the TV shows amazing image quality from Blu-ray and HD movies my initial impression is that our old DLP did a better initial job with broadcast TV for which our source Comcast cable. Tinkering with the settings continues
6. The screen reflects more than our old DLP did so daytime viewing with sun streaming in windows on an opposite wall means time to close the blinds.
Overall, we are very pleased with this TV and look forward to many hours of viewing pleasure.
What's great about it: blu-ray image is amazing
What's not so great: broadcast TV from cable could look better

full rich sound from a small speaker system

Type of Listener:Avid listener
Most Important to Purchase:Sound quality
How Often Used:Daily
Have had mine for a week now and am not disappointed in its sonic or build quality at all. Has bass just when you think you'll have to trade bass for portability in a small portable bluetooth speaker. Charges to 100% in 3 hours as spec'd and I get a full 9 hours of playing time on a full charge before the red light that indicates 20% or less power remaining appears and begins to blink.
Easy pairing with my LG G2X though I mostly use the 3.5mm connection.
The sound is rich full and at low to moderate volumes full of clean bass. At or near max volume the bass can get a bit muddy depending on source but also note it is only 7" long, weighs 24 ounces and the speakers are what, about 2" in diameter? Don't expect subwoofer enhanced music play back and you will be impressed and definitely not disappointed.
And it is striking to in appearance on or off its charging base
What's great about it: over all sound quality, ease of use, battery life
What's not so great: should have come with a carry pouch
I would recommend this to a friend!

With provided adapters it'll fit most any camcorder with lens threading and provide a nice wider than normal view for minimal investment.
However, it turns out that image quality degrades quickly from the edges inward as you zoom in leaving you with a sharp center circle and all else has gone soft. A nice effect if thats what you're after.
I returned mine and got the SONY wide angle adapter and though not as wide and you can not use entire zoom range with SONY lens attached the quality is a noticeable improvement over the Sunpak
What's great about it: inexpensive, fun to use
What's not so great: not sharp corner to corner

Going back to the 1980's SONY batteries for their camcorders have always worked well for me and I believe they represent a better value than the house/off brand batteries that may sell for less but don't last as long over the long run
What's great about it: enough stamina to get through most events
What's not so great: 1st time charge is slow

Almost didn't , then I did for my DJI P3 Pro.
By Camperjoe from St. Paul, Minnesota
Looking to upgrade from great Nexus 7 2013 for better performance as monitor for DJI Phantom P 3 Pro. Hemmed and hawed over this due to its price point. After weeks of debate with self decided to get one. The first thing I tried was the fit on the controller tablet/phone mount. To my delight it fits with the Samsung book cover on! After a week everything I have asked it to do it has done very well and very fast.
The screen is gorgeous, the processors fast, and not as much bloatware as I had feared but still too much. Being able add storage via micro SD card a big plus though I don't think storage will be an issue for me, after 2 years use the Nexus 7 still has 6GB out of stated 16GB available.
I have read reviews here and elsewhere that battery life could be better. However I'm an urban dweller so never that far from an outlet. In one of my typical days it doesn't get used for hours at a time and I watch very few movies or do heavy duty gaming on a tablet so I can make it through a day with battery to spare. The sound is ok though a little shrill/distorted at high volumes. However, through ear buds sound is great.
My copy most definitely performs like a flagship tablet.
And a word about that Samsung book cover, it is supposed to snap fit on two small studs. I thought I was going to break the glass I was pressing down so hard on the tablet as it rested on the dining room table in trying to join tablet to cover. Took a break, thought about it and picked up the tablet facing away from me. aligned it to the two studs and pressed from the back side/book cover side instead of the tablet side. Ta da, snapped right on and has stayed put ever since. None of what I did looked anything like the pictograms on the box which are your only directions for attaching cover to tablet.
Very impressed with the Tab S2 8.0 and I think my trusty Nexus 7 is going to become a photo frame and this Tab S2 will be the go to tablet when not being used as a monitor for my quadcopter.
I give it 4 stars instead of 5 mostly because of price and because of the struggles to mount it to its Samsung book cover. But IMHO closer to being a 5 star product than a 4 star.

A short quick note, as a monitor to provide fpv while piloting DJI Phantom 3 the view was great even in bright sunlight. Battery life in 25 degree Temps was more than enough and touch screen performed just fine.

Great quality, holds everything you need, up to 9 batteries. Well engineered, YouTube videos show best how to utilize, but everything has its own spot, except for maybe a water bottle.

nice well thought out pack but ...
March 2, 2016
.. based on the Manfrotto 3N1-35PL the customizing to make it more drone friendly is well thought out. However, the fit for the P3 is very snug and may frustrate some users. And a tool that frustrates is a tool that doesn't get used much. As a backpack it fits well, is well constructed and should last a long time. And the fact it was designed for camera gear gives it a second life.
FYI for the customizing you do pay a premium price compared to the 3N1-35PL.

Check that manual again Johnnyb you are incorrect
February 26, 2017
The side facing infrared sensing system works only in Beginner Mode and Tripod Mode true enough. However, the forward facing and rear facing systems work in P Mode which is the most often and most common way the DJI drones are flown and they are designed to work at speeds up to 30mph when the conditions are favorable.
You cannot fly with abandon in any direction you choose as the system cannot detect small objects such a bare tree branch or telephone lines. So you still need to perform your due diligence and scout out your shooting location.
Its in the manual.

Can this connect to a home stereo system?

you might need to get an adapter cable to match the 3.5mm headphone connection on the Sounslink Mini to match whatever connections you want to use on your stereo.

None that I am aware of use a coax connection. As a pipeline for data coax can not handle a hi-def signal. may as well keep using a VCR.

Do Blu-ray players play cd's?

Yes, We have Insignia and Samsung Blu-ray players and both will play prerecorded music and movies.

Can you connect i-pod/i-phone and a 2.1 CH speaker system to the Samsung p1600

7.1 Capable

which blu ray players are 7.1 and does an HDMI cable take care of video and audio so that i'll only need one cable from reciever to player
7.1 refers to a soundtrack option on the disc. Any player will merely send out what ever soundtrack info is on the disc but...
You knew there would have to be a but...some players will decode the audio info before sending it out and others will merely send out the data 'as is' so to speak to some other device for decoding.
Take a look at the back of the player and see if there is a set of 5.1 or 6.1 or 7.1 outputs in addition to any HDMI, fiber optic, coaxial digital and stereo outputs. If there are that typically means that the player decodes the audio and gives you options on how to get the sound to your AVR. If these 5.1/6.1/7.1 connects are missing then the player 'might' be decoding or maybe not.
There are a lot of players out there so I suggest you focus on a few and do some more research before buying.
The reason we purchased a Samsung 2550 was to get the max options for audio and video signal transmission, HDMI or analog outputs. When we update our AVR we will be able to use one HDMI cable for video and audio but until then...

blue-ray player that connects directly to cable/direct tv instead of to the tv set??

Not sure why you'd even want to do this bit of daisy chaining if it is even possible with your cable/direct tv box. If you want to see the HD picture a Blue-Ray player is capable of it needs to be connected to an HD TV, either directly or via an AVR with HDMI inputs and output to the HD TV.
I looked at the back of our cable box and there are no HDMI inputs though your situation might vary.

If I get a player that decodes HD audio tracks how do I connect in order to play them back?

It will depend on the AVR you're going to connect your player to as there are several options availble.
We have an older AVR that does not have HDMI inputs, it does however have analog 5.1 inputs and that is why we chose a player with analog outputs.
Newer AVRs can have HDMI connections which will simplify the connection and eliminate a number of cables in the process. But be aware that not all AVRs with HDMI can accept video and audio via the HDMI.
Above all before you spend your money and lug big boxes home do the research, it'll pay off.
