To these ears a good all round sound

The is not a bass heavy my kids gonna love it kind of speaker. To my untrained ears the sound is even with maybe just a touch of shrill if the volume gets cranks up a lot.
Best suited to enclosed surroundings, indoors with you not being off 20' away from the speaker.
Controls are simple and connection to my LG6 was easy and painless. Rubberized bottom and top help you get a firm grip and give the speaker a solid footing.
Can't speak to max battery life, mine is not away from its charger for more than 6-8 hours.
I am pleased with the performance and if you don't absolutely have to have a bass heavy portable blue tooth speaker for EDM consider this speaker.
4 out of 5 stars because it could be 10% cheaper easy.

For a sub $1,000 long zoom its great

Have had mine about a month. Paired with a Nikon D7100 and D700 it is an mazing lens for the money.
After over a thousand images put through it and a week's vacation Up North it has not disappointed.
Solid construction, nice texture on the focusing and zoom rings. Almost 2 lbs lighter than its Sigma 150-600 competitor so it can be hand held. But you're going to eventually want to look at a good monopod or tripod with quality ball head or gimbal head for extended shoots.
I find it a bit soft at 600mm but nothing that cant be countered in post processing. At 500 it looks very good. However with a shallow depth of field focusing is critical.
The vibration control helps in hand held situations but you're still going to want as fast a shutter speed as the situation will allow.
Does not come with a case or sleeve of any sort so a trip to your local full service camera shop will be in order.
If you think you'd be interested in bird/wildlife photography in my opinion, this lens is a very good entry into that kind of photography. or even if you just like the super compressed look a long lens gives this is a lens worth serious consideration at the $1,000-$1,500 price range.

Nikon D7100 DSLR Camera Body: Open up to a world of finer detail with the Nikon D7100, designed without an optical low-pass filter for impeccably-detailed image and video capture. The 1.3x crop mode gives you extra reach from your lens without sacrificing the high resolution quality, and the 51-point autofocus system locks onto your subject for incredibly fast response times. Whether you're a semi-professional or a skilled photographer upgrading to a more advanced DSLR, the lightweight and compact D7100 will keep your creativity on the edge.Memory card sold separately.

4 yrs since introduct and still a great camera
on March 12, 2017

I will try to keep this short and sweet. The D7100 was introduced in 2013, at the time it was considered a top of the line Nikon APS-C sensor camera and had an MSRP of around $1200 for the body alone.
Four years later at half the price when it was a new model it is still a great APS-C camera. I use D700 camera bodies at work so it was easy to spot what it could not do compered to a full frame sensor body, the list is pretty short.
I will agree with a previous reviewer, if you can help it do not go cheap on the lenses or memory cards. You don't have to buy the best top of line stuff but don't rush headlong to the least expensive lenses or memory cards if you want to experience all this camera is capable of producing in image quality.
The video experience with a D7100 is nice but remember four years ago video was just becoming a "gotta have it" feature. This camera absolutely shines as a still photo camera, is "ok" as a video camera.
Add a battery grip and have yourself an amazing tool. The RAW buffer can be a nuisance however high speed memory cards will minimize that issue. And if you shoot JPGs you may never bump up against the buffer limit.
Looking for a jump up from your trusty D70s? This is it. At a great price. While they last.

Nice fit and thoughtful design but ...

Bought this cover along with my Tab S2 8" in December 2015. Very snug snap fit when new.
However, if you have need to remove this cover from time to time as I do those snug fitting snaps are not so snug anymore and it take not that much pressure to have the cover separate from the tablet.
Makes you feel you need to be more careful when opening and closing cover.
Otherwise, works very well in all its advertised positions and has held up well in all other aspects after more than year of near daily use.
Could be sold for cheaper MSRP considering how long it has been on the market.

Quality workmanship, nice presentation

Have had my set for over a month and very satisfied with overall performance and quality. The threading on the DJI camera is fine and the metal is 'soft' so the chance for cross threading is great. But not with these filters. The fit is snug and to thread them on was pretty easy. The machining is excellent in my set.
Another plus is their weight is also very close to the factory installed UV filter so no significant added stress on the gimbal motors.
Multi coating instead of single coating would have been nice but that drives up the price noticeably.
The polarizing filter will present a challenge to use. If you have used a polarizer before you know that the polarizer's effectiveness diminishes depending on which direction you're facing in relation to the sun. And that demarcation becomes easier to see in your photos when using a wide angle lens such as the lens on the DJI Phantom 3 Pro or Advanced which is equal to a 20mm wide angle lens on a full frame DSLR.
I look forward to warmer weather here in MN to find more uses for this filter set. In winter light the ND 4 has been more than adequate for video
The hard case included free of charge was a nice and considerate touch.
That plus the small drawstring pouches that come with the filters gives you plenty of options for storing and carrying your filters with you.
These are more than 4 stars but quite 5 but pretty close. I'll give them a 5 out of 5 star rating.

Good fit with one caveat

I like the design, it fits snug though I secured mine with zip ties to make it stays put.
Other review mentions that the camera upon start up strikes the gimbal guard. Yes it does. Barely. And in my opinion does not impede the camera's start up procedure.
It is designed to help protect your camera and gimbal from obstructions when you land or from landings that are not your best effort. To say it will protect in the event of a crash might be stretching it. It has flex due to its materials composition so in my opinion, there's too much flex to offer much protection in the event of an uncontrolled hard landing.
It does what the manufacturer says it will. The oh so very slight rub when the camera goes through its start up gyrations I can live with as there is no impediment to camera movement when in flight.

The book cover works well and the bare minimum pictograph instructions printed inside the box did not work for me at all. Thought I was going to be returning it. No matter how hard I pressed, from the tablet side, I could not get a secure connect.
Then I tried applying pressure from the backside while holding the tablet facing away from me. Tada, snapped into place almost immediately and has been secure ever since.
Did take the cover off once, thought I was going to have get a pry bar from the garage. It came off ok but if this is a hint of things to come this cover will be around for a long time.
The three positions illustrated on the box and on the cover itself work well for me.
Workmanship and quality of materials looks good, at least for 3 weeks of daily use.
Pricey, you bet but on sale I'd get one.

Almost didn't , then I did for my DJI P3 Pro.

Looking to upgrade from great Nexus 7 2013 for better performance as monitor for DJI Phantom P 3 Pro. Hemmed and hawed over this due to its price point. After weeks of debate with self decided to get one. The first thing I tried was the fit on the controller tablet/phone mount. To my delight it fits with the Samsung book cover on! After a week everything I have asked it to do it has done very well and very fast.
The screen is gorgeous, the processors fast, and not as much bloatware as I had feared but still too much. Being able add storage via micro SD card a big plus though I don't think storage will be an issue for me, after 2 years use the Nexus 7 still has 6GB out of stated 16GB available.
I have read reviews here and elsewhere that battery life could be better. However I'm an urban dweller so never that far from an outlet. In one of my typical days it doesn't get used for hours at a time and I watch very few movies or do heavy duty gaming on a tablet so I can make it through a day with battery to spare. The sound is ok though a little shrill/distorted at high volumes. However, through ear buds sound is great.
My copy most definitely performs like a flagship tablet.
And a word about that Samsung book cover, it is supposed to snap fit on two small studs. I thought I was going to break the glass I was pressing down so hard on the tablet as it rested on the dining room table in trying to join tablet to cover. Took a break, thought about it and picked up the tablet facing away from me. aligned it to the two studs and pressed from the back side/book cover side instead of the tablet side. Ta da, snapped right on and has stayed put ever since. None of what I did looked anything like the pictograms on the box which are your only directions for attaching cover to tablet.
Very impressed with the Tab S2 8.0 and I think my trusty Nexus 7 is going to become a photo frame and this Tab S2 will be the go to tablet when not being used as a monitor for my quadcopter.
I give it 4 stars instead of 5 mostly because of price and because of the struggles to mount it to its Samsung book cover. But IMHO closer to being a 5 star product than a 4 star.

READ the instructions and it's a great experience

Have had mine since May soon after they were announced. Still working on improving my piloting skill set. With batteries charged you can go through preflight checks and be out of the box and airborne in minutes. But you gotta prepare - fully charge all batteries, verify you have the latest firmware for the controller, the quad and the smart battery and while waiting for batteries to charge watch the tutorial videos on the DJI web site so you don't do stupid stuff, crash it or lose it on a first flight due to pilot error.
The included Quick Guide is enough to get you started but be sure to download the full manual. I suggest beginning with Beginner Mode turned on regardless of experience and especially if you have never flown a quad copter before. Then slowly begin to expand your horizons.
The kit has everything you need EXCEPT a smart phone or tablet to view what the camera sees and to work through the app. The DJI web site has a list of APPROVED devices you need to check out, not just any smart phone or tablet is approved and will work seamlessly with DJI's integrated system.
The app for Android or Apple is free to download.
Your tablet does NOT need to have cell service to fly a P3. What you need is to have maps for the area you'll be flying in and w/o cell service in the tablet to make that happen simply be sure to open Google Maps while you're at home and the tablet is connected to your Wi-Fi. So when you get to your flying location the maps will be cached and ready for you to use.
It's a lot of fun but there's a lot to think about too, obstacles, people structures, trees, power lines, no-fly zones, strong winds aloft, other peoples privacy, your ability to control aircraft responsibly.
But once you get a handle on the logistic - what fun. The video quality is great in 1080P or 4K and the photos are not bad either. The sensor is a SONY sensor and the same size you'll find in most point and shoot cameras so don't pixel peep because its not bad at all for what it is.
In the real world i get about 18 minutes on a battery and the 16GB card it comes with will hold plenty of photos and good bit of video to begin with so no need to rush out to get that 64GB card just yet.
Have fun and fly safe.

Easy to set up, works very well

From opening the box to having my LG3 phone balanced and shooting some test video - less than ten minutes. A cell phone will not fit on this all by itself, you will need a bracket to hold your cell and have the threading to match the 1/4" mounting bolt. I used a "Smart Bracket" found at a local camera shop.
I used one small weight angled just a bit to the left to compensate for the way I placed the cell in the bracket. I also had to turn the bracket around in order to achieve the desired balance. That was it.
I'm thinking with one more gizmo from my stash of camera accessories I will be able to turn the bracket back to normal position and have unobstructed view of cell's screen.
Next will be to try the SONY camcorder and I'm confident the set up will go as smooth.
I don't shoot video with a DSLR so cant speak to that kind of gear but for the lightweight stuff this holds great promise for much smoother handheld videos
Well made and finish is even and nice looking. Knurled knob for securing the camera to device could have been larger for a better grip if you have anything like average size fingers. Otherwise a nice product. I give 4 instead of 5 stars because it could sell at a lower price point considering the online competition but BBY's asking price is not outrageous and if there's need for a return the nearest store is 15 minutes away and no shipping charges. Though sales tax can negate that I suppose.

nice well thought out pack but ...
March 2, 2016
.. based on the Manfrotto 3N1-35PL the customizing to make it more drone friendly is well thought out. However, the fit for the P3 is very snug and may frustrate some users. And a tool that frustrates is a tool that doesn't get used much. As a backpack it fits well, is well constructed and should last a long time. And the fact it was designed for camera gear gives it a second life.
FYI for the customizing you do pay a premium price compared to the 3N1-35PL.

Check that manual again Johnnyb you are incorrect
February 26, 2017
The side facing infrared sensing system works only in Beginner Mode and Tripod Mode true enough. However, the forward facing and rear facing systems work in P Mode which is the most often and most common way the DJI drones are flown and they are designed to work at speeds up to 30mph when the conditions are favorable.
You cannot fly with abandon in any direction you choose as the system cannot detect small objects such a bare tree branch or telephone lines. So you still need to perform your due diligence and scout out your shooting location.
Its in the manual.

7.1 Capable

which blu ray players are 7.1 and does an HDMI cable take care of video and audio so that i'll only need one cable from reciever to player
7.1 refers to a soundtrack option on the disc. Any player will merely send out what ever soundtrack info is on the disc but...
You knew there would have to be a but...some players will decode the audio info before sending it out and others will merely send out the data 'as is' so to speak to some other device for decoding.
Take a look at the back of the player and see if there is a set of 5.1 or 6.1 or 7.1 outputs in addition to any HDMI, fiber optic, coaxial digital and stereo outputs. If there are that typically means that the player decodes the audio and gives you options on how to get the sound to your AVR. If these 5.1/6.1/7.1 connects are missing then the player 'might' be decoding or maybe not.
There are a lot of players out there so I suggest you focus on a few and do some more research before buying.
The reason we purchased a Samsung 2550 was to get the max options for audio and video signal transmission, HDMI or analog outputs. When we update our AVR we will be able to use one HDMI cable for video and audio but until then...

blue-ray player that connects directly to cable/direct tv instead of to the tv set??

Not sure why you'd even want to do this bit of daisy chaining if it is even possible with your cable/direct tv box. If you want to see the HD picture a Blue-Ray player is capable of it needs to be connected to an HD TV, either directly or via an AVR with HDMI inputs and output to the HD TV.
I looked at the back of our cable box and there are no HDMI inputs though your situation might vary.

If I get a player that decodes HD audio tracks how do I connect in order to play them back?

It will depend on the AVR you're going to connect your player to as there are several options availble.
We have an older AVR that does not have HDMI inputs, it does however have analog 5.1 inputs and that is why we chose a player with analog outputs.
Newer AVRs can have HDMI connections which will simplify the connection and eliminate a number of cables in the process. But be aware that not all AVRs with HDMI can accept video and audio via the HDMI.
Above all before you spend your money and lug big boxes home do the research, it'll pay off.
