great online experiance

i enjoyed this game more than mag or cod online which is suprising. i like the fact that when someone hides you can destroy their cover, not only killing them but also ensuring they wont be hiding in that spot again in that round. I do wish the online games lasted longer, it seems when i am just getting started the game ends.
overall the game is different from the way COD or mag plays. it is more along the lines of mag in the fact you do better working together. the downside is that if you work together in perfect tandem, the games are very short and you can blow through 6-8 games in less than an hour. if you like FPS game but desire something a little different this is the way to go.
in my opinion COD lost its luster a long time ago, mag was a welcome addition to the team playing that was so desperatly needed after years of COD's lone run and gun type play. This game improves where mag started, there are not as many people but there are more weapons to choose from which is where mag was lacking the most. the maps are smaller but not to small though the boundry limits should be more obvious.
all in all a great game, worth picking up.
What's great about it: you can destroy your opponents cover, no where is safe to hide
What's not so great: online takes some getting used to over the cod/mag type games

great game

for one all the reviews on here sound like they were written by the same person. i bought this game looking for something new with trophies, and i am not a long time fan of comand and conquer, but i did play and like C&C Generals, also for RTS i loved empire earth among a few others.
this game does RTS on a console very good. hopefully we will see other games follow suit.
the bonus features are ok, some give detail on what went into making the game, music and ect...though the actors that do C&C tv (a show in the bonus features) are really....dorky and annoying to hear. this game is pretty much like a B-rated movie with the actors and real scenes.
the gameplay is great fun, and the units are cool and each faction has different units and strategies involved in playing.
the game is great, and is worth purchasing, the bonus features are just a bonus and i found it cool that they actually allow you to play the music from the bonus menue so you can hear all the tracks. the xtras are cool just becuase they are there, but it isnt anything worth paying extra for, the acting is B-rated but the gameplay shines. great and worth the time and money investment.
What's great about it: everything you loved about C&C on ps3
What's not so great: nothing

one thing i didnt like about this game, starting with a new character, i am able to get KO's withing a few minutes, 99% of the time it is with-in the first round. i figured it would be more difficult.
the graphics are good, bruises, sweat, cuts and other signs of damage show as a match goes on. the create a fighter is good, though it lacks any real personality as characters typically only wear shorts, so dont expect costumes like smackdown vs raw.
overall this game is probably the best fighting game out as of now. it is more deep than smackdown vs raw, and is a more realistic game when it comes to moves, damage, action. worth purchasing, even if you are not an avid UFC fan, which i am not, and even though the game is good, i still wont watch the fights just becuase it isnt my thing.
the bottom line, you dont have to be a fanboy of the UFC to enjoy the game, which is a great thing.
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: fighting can get repetative..and with a new created character, still getting 1 round ko's

this game is suprisingly fun, even for an avid action/shooter gamer. the game also supports multiplayer co-op which adds to the playability of the game. the game has plenty of items to collect, and some levels may require another play through if you didnt nab everything. the game is very family friendly and is also appropriate for smaller children.
also the downloadable/online content is monitored for anything inappropriate so the game is going to stay family friendly. a great alternative for those seeking a "mario" type game, but more fun to play.
What's great about it: never ending gameplay due to player levels. fun main character
What's not so great: nothing at all

not as good as teh hype

this game is probably the lamest fighting game i have ever played. alot of people love it though i do not know why. here are the problems i have with the game.
1) for a fighting game, in order to win in arcade mode you almost always have to use the same move over and over again, like in the old mortal kombat games where most enemies were beaten with repeated foot sweeps. if you try to actually "fight" you will get beaten on harder difficulties.
2) the last boss is abysimal. alot of people have complained about the cheap moves he pulls off and how hard he is. granted he is the last boss, but he is probably the hardest boss in a fighting game.
3) very frustrating control scheme on both playstation and 360. almost impossible to pull off super moves unless you buy a $70 arcade stick, which isnt worth it.
my suggestion if you must play this game..rent it or borrow it, get frustrated, then return it. this game was overly hyped and not worth $60. dont take my word for it. google "why is street fighter so hard" or most frustrating fighting games. street fighter is all over the net, just not for good reasons.
What's great about it: classic characters as well as new
What's not so great: fighting mechanic needs alot of work

good western game

the story mode of the game is lacking, as with all shooters, with few exceptions. even call of duties story modes are not that great. it is pretty much like a previous reveiw said, go to star, complete task, go to next star, complete task ect. it is not as open ended as i expected it to be and is pretty linear. there are some hidden items to find in story mode and a cheat code that provides you with starting money, money for multiplayer and silver or gold weapons for multiplayer. it is a code sorta like a thank you for purchasing the game which is nice.
the online multiplayer was the best aspect of it. i have no idea what was going on with one of the previous reviews of not being able to play online. i purchased this from day one and have had no problems at all. basically as an example of one online match that was very fun, we (team of players) had to defend a bank vault from the opposing team, it is timed and you have so many minutes to complete the task. we won and it was our turn. we got to the vault, blew it open to "steal the contents"..the next phase of the multiplayer since we stole the contents was to break into the stables, which again was timed and we completed it, then we had to excape the town on horseback as the last segment of the multipleyer round. you are awarded with money to unlock new characters for online play.
over all i enjoyed the multiplayer more than call of duty 5 due to the way it was set up with different goals in each round instead of just one goal in mind. i like this game, and considering there are no other western games it is worth checking out. some will like it, some will not. i am not a western person but this game was a welcome change of pace from the sci fi/military shooters i am used to. my advise, rent it, if you like it purchase it, if not, you spent $6 to check it out, no big loss, and you learned for yourself wether the game is good or not.
What's great about it: online play
What's not so great: story is lacking

if you want a sandbox game to destroy everything this is the game for you. use your sledgehammer to knock down support columns to bring a building down, or use bombs to take out the supports, and if that gets old, just drive through the place in a vehicle and call it done.
everything in the game can be destroyed. the physics are good and every building falls differently which keeps it awe inspiring. the story is ok but isnt grade A and you can read about it in the description so i wont get into it. this game is about destruction. once you destroy buildings, walls, vehicles, people you collect items to salvage to use to purchase new upgrades which is cool. the graphics are great and the landscape is your playground of destruction, go bring down some buildings already.

good remake
on June 13, 2009
Posted by: william09
from joplin, mo
this was a good remake of the first few friday the 13th movies and goes over some of what was missed in the origional like jason seeing his mother killed and getting his hockey mask, it also covers teh machette he is famous for using, most details left out of the origionals so there is new content included, also new kills and yes, jason now runs and seems more menacing than the origional films. hopefully they make another one and get jason back on track where the series should have been since everything past jason takes manhatten took the series in the toilet in my opinion. over all a good movie and worth seeing if you love the slasher genre.
What's great about it: the story of jason in more detail

great improvement for controller
on June 7, 2009
Posted by: william09
from joplin, mo
these are a great improvment over the origional triggers. i bought them last night and tested them on FUEL, Killzone 2, and Call of Duty: World at War. they are more comfortable than the default angle of the controller. i noticed a slight improvement over controlling the trigger buttons (as in how much pressure is applied). it also helped to prevent the controller from pressing the buttons when i lay the controller down on a couch or table. over all a good item, but it is seriously just 2 peices of plastic for $5 which is over priced for something that costs 20 cents to make, but with no other options to choose from and these being the only triggers i have found, i guess we are stuck paying the high marked up price if we want the improved funtionality. one does have a crack in it where it clips on but i beleive it was like that and it was either shipped that way or had something heavy on it. it isnt really a crack but you can tell the plastic was stressed somehow becuase there is white discoloration in a crack like pattern on both sides where it clips on. im not to worried about it, it works, it stays on, and i wont be taking them off becuase i bought 2 sets, one for each controller i have becuase i figured it would be cheap plastic and i would imagine if you take them off, and put them on repeatedly they will break.
overall the item is a great find, but it should be priced at $1.00 instead of $5. it is more of a comfort thing rather than a game improvment thing, though it is more comfortable in racing games like FUEL where you have to have the triggers depressed for long periods of time due to it being the accelerator button. other than that, no they dont improve shooting guns at all, you can either aim and hit a target or you cant, it will not improve your game to where you all of a sudden have 100 more kills than usual, so dont expect anything major, though it does feel more natural when using a sniper rifle in COD5.
if you are looking for more comfort buy these, if you are looking to improve your game, these wont help.
What's great about it: better angle for easier funtionality over the default trigger
What's not so great: price is triple what they are worth

this game is great, and fun. the graphics are awsome and the pyhsics are great. this game however is alot different control scheme wise from call of duty. once you get used to the controls and put aside the 10000 hours of call of duty controls programmed in your head it is great.
the story is good and better than most games. no corny plots or stupid characters. the job system is a good thing in multiplayer and mixes things up a bit. there are also alot of trophies, which most seem easy to acheive and realistic, nothing to demanding or complicated unlike some games.
the game is not a cod clone, it is its own game with a cool story and neat characters and awsome sound and graphics. worth purchasing, and it should be enjoyable to most FPS fans.
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: controls take getting used to but are spot on once you play for a while

How do you set up windows media to your xbox 360 with windows xp software?

I am using an xbox 360 elite limited editon (resident evil 5 one), and i wanted to put media center on it.

How to I set it up with a wireless network?
To set up Windows Media Center:
If you use Windows XP, first go to www.xbox.com/pcsetup and click Setup to download the latest Windows Media Center software update to your PC running Windows Media Center.

Note
Windows Vista Home Premium Edition and Windows Vista Ultimate Edition come pre-installed with Windows Media Center.
Connect your Xbox 360 console to your PC using one of the connection types described in "Connect to Xbox LIVE."
On your Xbox 360 console, go to My Xbox and open Windows Media Center . Follow the on-screen instructions to finish Windows Media Center setup.

Along with standard DVD remote control functions, the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote features a Windows Media Center button that lets you access a connected PC running Windows Media Center.

Xbox 360 can connect to an 802.11g or an 802.11a router with an optional wireless adapter such as the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter. Optimal performance is possible only when your Xbox 360 console connects to your network using the 802.11a standard. Other wireless devices, such as portable computers or desktop computers, connect with 802.11g.

Note
If you use wireless networking equipment that is not "Designed for Media Center Edition" (DfMCE) logo certified, you may experience poor wireless performance when you connect to PC running Windows XP and Windows Media Center.

To guarantee compatibility with current gear and to provide additional uninterrupted bandwidth for Xbox 360, replace an older 802.11g-only router with a newer, dual-band 802.11g and 802.11a router that is DfMCE certified.

Media Center Remote Control
The Xbox 360 console can be configured for use with your Media Center Remote Control. With this you can use familiar remote features to control the Windows Media Center features that are available with Xbox 360.

To use a Media Center remote control together with the Xbox 360:
Go to the My Xbox and select System Settings.
Select Console Settings.
Scroll down and select Remote Control.
Select Both Remotes.
Press Back (B) a few times to return to the Xbox Dashboard.

If the Xbox 360 console is turned off, press Start to turn it on and to start Media Center. When the system is on, you can press Start from any area of the Xbox Dashboard to jump straight to Media Center.

Note
The Media Center remote control cannot adjust the volume level for Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 Universal Remote is the best way to access the features of Media Center on the Xbox 360 system. You can control your Xbox 360 experience with an ergonomic design that includes backlit buttons, TV controls, and integrated Media Center controls.

ps3

2.0 usb flash drive. will it work on the ps3
most flash drives will work on ps3, some however you will have to format into either a ntfs or fat 32 drive (cant remember which) you can do this on your computer by plugging the device in, and going to the drive itself to view folders and click formatt ( on win xp it is on the left side bar as an option) it will however delete anything on the card. to get the ps3 to read items on it ,as an example a movie, you would go to movies on the media bar in ps3, highlight (do not push x to select the thumbdrive) the thumbdrive under movies and press triangle and select veiw all. other wise the ps3 will act like there is nothing on the drive.

i have this sprint USB thing and i dont know how to set it up to my PS3

i have it working on my laptop perfectly...just plug it in and go. but when i plug it in the ps3 it wont even show up.
the ps3 doesnt pick up some items in the usb ports (it wont detect a digital camera that i have from kodak) you may need to re-ask the question and state what the item is, what does it do. is it a phone (majic jack, vonage type device, wireless internet device (ps3 is wireless out of the box) is it a memory device of some kind) without know what the device is and does it is rather difficult to find a solution.

Is Sony going to have a price cut for ps3 like the rumors are saying

to be honest rumors of this nature have been going on for a while, i was told of a price cut in april that never happened. it is unclear at this time unless sony announces it themselves. i do know that sony takes a hit on every system they sale right now, meaning it costs more to make them than what they sale them for becuase of their own chipset they had made for the system. i woudlnt count on a price cut anytime soon, and if it happens with-in 30 days of your ps3 purchase i know most stores will honor the new price and will provide a refund. i woudlnt count on a price cut anytime soon unless sony becomes desperate to sell, especially since a descent blue ray player alone is running $300.00 by itself. i woudlnt count on a price cut due to that alone, if you are debating on buying one, i will tell you that overall it is worth the $400 price tag considering you dont have to buy accessories like you do with xbox 360 (wireless adapter is 99 dollars alone on 360 and ps3 is wireless right out of the box, and it comes with a rechargable controller which is another $20 on xbox and the online is free and xbox 360 is $60 a year plus you cant browse the internet like with ps3, considering all that ps3 is cheaper than xbox 360 in the long run already)

I am looking to buy an xbox for the first time and the elite seems like a pretty good deal. Is it worth $400 plus a year of live 2 games + controller

to be honest when you consider you have to buy the system, xbox live, a play and charge kit (unless you like batteries) a $99 wireless adapter you are actually paying more than you would for a more reliable ps3 which is ready to go out of the box. the only thing i purchased with my ps3 was a headset (any blue tooth headset that utilizes bluetooth 2.0 or later will work) and a controller for my fiance (and a seperate usb cable to charge it or you can get a charges that charges multiple controllers at the same time) you do get a chance to win a free game on xbox 360 called RED RING OF DEATH as well. the system reliability for xbox 360 is below standard. i myself have had a total of 4 360's, 3 of which have been since march of 2009. i woudl advise against xbox but that is just my opinion. do keep in mind im not a playstation fan boy, i just want a system that works and i got it and more with PS3
