The SSSD comes with a book that refers you to the motherboard/laptop manual for installation instructions. The Samsung 980 pro is a premium m.2 SSD. With the utilization of PCIe 4.0 NVMe, it achieves nearly twice the speed of my last generation SSDs. the IOPS (input/output operations per second) are not near the advertised 1000k, with most tests showing around 350k.
The Samsung 980 pro is a good choice for most users that won't disappoint.

Chromebook’s have finally advanced to the point where they can fully replace any PC or Mac for most users that don’t rely on PC/MAC-specific software. This unit is FAST, has great sound, battery life, and graphics, and is lightweight. The 11th Gen i3 processor coupled with the 8GB ram and the 128GB SSD work flawlessly for light gaming, videos, spreadsheets, word documents, light photo editing, video conferencing (no lag unrelated to internet connectivity), and remote desktop applications.

The screen can do a complete “flip” so you can use it in laptop mode, presentation mode, tent mode or tablet mode. The K70 RGB TKL (Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard) Champion Series is a great all-around keyboard, with cherry switches, full-key rollover, and plenty of onboard memory for profiles.

It is hard to review a keyboard without simply restating what’s available in the product description, so I’m going to focus on my experience with the described features.
This is my first keyboard with a USB Type-C cable and I am not buying another keyboard without one! The convenience of removing the cable for transport and ease of replacing are major advantages. With the iCUE software you can have up to 50 onboard profiles, and there are 5 dedicated media hotkeys and a volume roller! The volume roller seems like a simple add on, but it was a lot more functional than volume up/down keys or a circular dial. The lighting is fully customizable via the iCUE software, and there are 10 key activated lighting effect shortcuts.
The keyboard has a physical “Tournament Mode” mode switch that changes the back lighting to a single color, prevents any pre-programmed actions/macros, and allows it to function as a “regular” keyboard without having to switch profiles in the iCUE software.
Corsair makes a good keyboard, but the accompanying software is what sets their products apart from the competition. The iCUE software controls the following:
*Key assignments in the software that will be active if iCUE is running, and hardware assignments that will work when the software isn’t running.
*Lighting Effects – software and hardware based.
*Performance – controls keys and key combinations when Win Lock is on.
*Device Settings – controls polling rate, layout, etc.

The keyboard itself has a great “feel” to it. This is to be expected from a keyboard with this hardware, but the “Champion Series Functions” left me wanting more. I could not tell the difference between having 8000hz hyper polling on and having it off. The tournament mode switch so far as I can tell just stops iCUE from detecting the keyboard, therefore not allowing you to turn on hyper polling in iCUE.
I can easily recommend this keyboard if you need a portable sized TKS keyboard, but I would not make the “Tournament Mode” the deciding factor in my purchase.

The Shark Wandvac System Cordless 3-in 1 Ultra-Lightweight and Powerful Cordless Stick Vacuum is exactly as described! It’s a stick vacuum that can extend into a wand vacuum for harder-to-reach areas and to a hand vacuum with a full rotating self-cleaning brush roll. And since it’s about 2 pounds it clearly lightweight and it’s deceivingly powerful. The floor unit with the rotating brush roll is designed to be self-cleaning and designed to handle dirt, dust and even pet hair without the unit clogging like a normal brush head. The unit has rubber type PowerFins that do a great job on carpets and bare floors. A crevice tool and pet multi-tool are also included that can attach to either the vacuum or the extension wand. The vacuum has a “parking station” where you can store/charge the unit while in full floor vacuum mode, and a convenient 2nd position to store/charge the top hand vacuum unit. The suction is very good and there’s a boost mode for an extra boost in the suction power. The dust cup empties with one touch, and there’s a separate filter that says it should be cleaned once a month. Depending on the mode of use, the batter time lasts from 12 to 20 minutes in my experience, but the battery is removable. This is a new unit, so I don’t know if spare batteries are currently available, but Shark is known for having replacement batteries available for all their products. It’s has become our household go-to item for all small spills, as well as dusting baseboards, doors, and windowsills, etc.
The dustbin only holds about 1 – 2 cups of waste, so if you’re using it in a high dust/dirt environment it will need to be emptied often. I would give this a 5-star rating if the base unit had a place to store the attachments, but since it’s a “system” that includes the base I must factor that in.

Since scanner performance can be limited or enhanced by the software used to complete the intended tasks, let me start with the plethora of software included with this unit. Epson Scanner Utility including software/firmware updater, Kofax Power PDF license for PC/Mac and Presto!BizCard6. The scanner can scan to a connected computer, WSD (Microsoft’s Web Services for Devices), FTP/Network Folder, Flash Drive, Cloud Services, or to an email address. The scanner has a very small footprint and with the wireless connectivity functional for most tasks, it can be set up almost anywhere. The scanner works out of the box with a 4.3” color touchscreen to scan to a USB, but you need to create an account at www.epsonconnect.com to set up the Cloud and Scan to email services. This scanner is part of their business line Rapid Receipt series and is designed for scanning and organizing receipts, invoices and almost all scannable items for your home or business. It also includes the ScanSmart financial software that allows you to integrate with QuickBooks, Quicken, TurboTax, Excel, etc. The Presto!BizCard6 software allows you to scan and organize business cards. The document feeder will accept up to 100 pages with a limit of 8.5” wide. That stated scanning speed is 35 pages per minute, and it scans both sides of the document at once! It works great for print documents and automatically crops and cleans up the scans and removes blank pages! Even though it’s not marketed as a photo scanner, it performs that task well. I had a stack of antique postcards that were a challenge since some were in mint condition and some were well-aged. Most scanners would either give me a good picture and unreadable handwriting, or the reverse. This unit scanned them all in batches, cleaned up the pictures and the messages were as clear as they would be looking at them in person! The max resolution is 600dpi which is equivalent to 1200 dpi interpolated.

Kettlebells are considered by some the best value for your home fitness dollar! The seemingly endless varieties of exercises that can be performed with a single kettlebell target multiple muscle groups and range of motions. The key to effective kettlebell workouts is coaching, and JAXJOX has that covered through their app. The kettlebells come with a 30-trial of their premium app, but even the free version has a wealth of information. The app tracks real time performance includes reps, weight, sets, average power and the length of your workout. By entering your personal information and fitness goal you’ll be able to track your “Fitness IQ” based on your workouts and information imported from Apple Health or Google Fit once you have worked out for 7 days.
Classes can be filtered by type – Sweat/Strong/Restore which are timed classes from 15 minutes to 45 minutes and Skills which vary based on the technique being taught. You want to start with the Skills classes for the most effective workouts with the least risk of injury, then move on to the actual workouts. There are 8 different coaches for the various classes, and their “Bios” are available in the app. Once your workout is complete, you can see your total reps, sets, duration, and calories burned in the app. The classes are on-demand, but you can schedule them by date and time based on your workout schedule. These headphones utilize bone-conduction technology rather than a traditional earpiece or speaker. This technology is not new, but it's definitely been perfected with this lasted release by AfterShokz. The pieces that transmit the sound literally through your bones sit in front of your ear just below your temple. These have traditionally been marketed to athletes that still need situational awareness of surrounding sounds for safety such as bicyclists. But in reality, they work great in any environment such as an office or conference setting where you need to continue to be aware of your surroundings. They also include a set of foam earplugs if you want to block out any surrounding noise and concentrate on listening! The battery life is about 6 hours, and the recharge time is less than 2 hours with the USB-C port. They have an on/off button and volume toggle along with a multi-function button for answering calls, skipping tracks, or changing to one of three EQ settings. You can also access your phone's personal assistant such as Siri or Google. Where this unit excels is comfort! You hardly notice that they're on since there's no pressure on or in the ear! The Bluetooth connectivity is fantastic with no drops or glitches, and the microphone works very well for phone calls and voice recognition. I've worn them jogging, riding my bicycle, and falling off my bicycle and they stay in place with no moving around. They're water and dust resistant only, so you can't swim in them but they do have a 2-year warranty!

BT connected razor! That's right! No typos!

I have used Norelco 5000 series for years, so it was time to pass it down to my son and upgrade! I didn't realize I was getting a state of the art connected device that's still capable of wet or dry shaves! The unit comes with the razor unit, charging cord, pop-up trimmer, and a cleaning base! You cannot use the razor while it's charging! The cleaning base is powered by the razor, and unlike some others doesn't complicate the process by doubling as a charging stand. It's a round base that I can put in/out of the cabinet as needed. AND the razor will tell you when it's needed! This razor has no controls on the unit other than the on/off button. There is a built-in display that will let you know the battery charge level, a cleaning notification, and a SenseIQ icon that changes color based on whether you are using the optimal shaving motion for the unit. The Philips GroomTribe app is the heart of the shaving experience. You can create a shaving plan based on your shaving preferences, how often you shave, and your level of irritation. You have the option of just shaving and the app will track your time and show you the efficiency of your shaving motion. The more efficiently you shave the less time you'll spend shaving which will result in less irritation. There's also GuidedShave option times your shave and there's a graph that gives real-time feedback in regards to your shaving time/motion. The shaver has an improved head design that allows for more motion resulting in a closer shave since the foils can follow your face more closely. After 6 "normal" shaves including 3 GuidedShaves the unit still has an 80% charge. The unit does not need the app to function, and if you don't have your phone with you the previous shaves will sync the next time it connects. In my opinion, the unit shaves as well or better with shaving cream as a manual multi-blade or safety razor. As will all electric razors it takes a week or so to "condition" your face, and that applies if you switch from a straight foil type to a rotary. But once that's done you will get a shave as close as a standard "blade" without the hassle or ongoing expense.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021 & Premiere Elements 2021 are considered the “consumer” versions of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. I think that’s a misnomer since these are powerful tools that rival the highest price pro versions available just a few years ago. Photoshop Elements is an all in one image management tool, while Premiere Elements is for videos. These programs have always been the gold standard in photo and video tools. The latest upgrade incorporates Adobe Sensei which according to their website powers AI and machine learning across all their products to enhance the digital experiences. In Photoshop Elements this includes even more auto-generated creations from your media library that appear on your home screen! You can also now add motion to images, adjust fact tilts, make shareable creations that can include motivational quotes or personal messages with images. There are a lot of templates available that include animation! Guided Edits is the feature I’ve used most so far! There are 83 of these incorporated that show you step by step how to “fix”, adjust, personalize, and stylize your images! All your final creations can be saved in various file formats, and the program includes options for ordering prints and gift items right from the program. Premier Elements incorporates most of the features available in Photoshop Elements including Guided Edits but geared towards videos. The video selection process is intuitive, and the customization options include audio as well as video effects with real-time feedback! No more waiting for rendering! The photo/video management tool allows searching and sorting by albums, people, places, tags to name a few. And the catalog structure backs up with the media files for so none of your information is lost. The new features and the incorporation of Adobe Sensei make this a worthwhile upgrade from any version.

I'm using this system with Xfinity, and the setup requirements are different depending on your service provider and how your network is configured...or how you want it to be configured. Detailed instructions are available through the eero app or at eero.com. I chose to set my Xfinity Gateway to bridge mode so it would only function as a modem and not a router, but you do lose some ISP features. This is a “mesh” system that replaced my wireless gateway and 2 wireless access points. Unlike traditional wireless routes that can conflict with each other and other devices, these units work together to eliminate dead spaces and uneven signal strength. The installation is simple and easy, and is completed through an android or IOS app. Basically, you download the app, unplug your modem, and open the app and follow the instructions. I had the main unit and 2 satellite units set up in less than 5 minutes. My Wi-Fi speeds on my phones and laptop increased from 100+ Mbps to 350+ Mbps. You can control all the mesh units from the app as well as any devices connected to the system. There’s a feature in the app to manage Amazon Connected home devices and a beta feature that will prioritize devices to connect to the 5 GHz band. This system has tripled my wireless network speed and completely reduced my steaming device lag or freeze-ups! With over 20 wireless devices and 8 wired connected to my network, we’ve had no slowdowns or dropped connections!

The instructions are clear that calibration is required for accurate tracking since everyone has different length strides. Did you calibrate it? If so...how much "off" was it?

I bought this phone after reading the what seemed to be amazing reviews. I was slightly disappointed after the third day of having my phone when it would reset itself about 5 times a day due to it over heating. Bearing with it i kept the phone. The phone eventually stopped over heating but with that problem going away, another arose. the camera. No matter what you take a picture of it comes out grainy and slightly blurred. I, being a photographer, was highly disappointed at this. The battery power was another concern. I am on my phone for maybe, 2 hours total a day. My phone will be at 100% at 8 AM and by 10 AM it will be on 22% without me even using it yet. I turn on battery saver and it seems to make the battery die faster. I have now had the phone for a year, the phone now, will not display the keyboard and then after it being frozen for 5 minutes will completly restart and come back on and repeat the process over again. When the phone actually remains on it will consistently bring up the "Ok google" voice activation without me saying a word. Data and storage is not good. I am supposed to have nationwide data, but don't get it ANYWHERE through t mobile and the storage on my phone is constantly full even without any pictures or apps on it. Apps crash on a daily basis and the phone is very delayed (after pressing the home button, it is usual to have to wait a half minute before anything shows up). I would NOT buy this phone. I would spring for the slightly more expensive but oh so worth it LG Stylo. I had the stylo for 3 years and had no complaints about the phone at all. Very durable and very fast.
