Mainly For Kids
on May 15, 2008

'Men In Black' has some decent material, but it's just geared a little too much towards kids for adults to whole-heartedly enjoy. Widescreen with plenty of bonus features.

Probably Seagal's Best Film
on May 15, 2008

I was never a huge fan of Steven Seagal, he always seemed to play the exact same character in every movie, and he quite unrealistically never seemed to get hurt or injured during any of his high body count excursions. But that's to expect of many actors in the action genre, so for what it's worth, I will say that 'Under Siege' isn't bad entertainment, and by far Seagal's best film. Widescreen.

Missing Bonus Features
on May 15, 2008

'Independence Day' is probably one of the most anticipated movies in history, and its box office receipts show that. The film set records in terms of financial success, but at the same time just left certain people like myself scratching our heads at the product itself. What appeared so cool and intriguing during the trailers, really turned out to be nothing more than a campy, special-effects-laden kids movie full of wooden acting. Widescreen, some bonus material, but again missing many features available on the standard special edition dvd release.

Roland Emmerich's science fiction blockbuster Independence Day comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a smattering of commentary from Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin, as well as commentary from the special effects crew. This is a solid disc from 20th Century Fox that should be appreciated by fans of the film.

Missing Special Features
on May 15, 2008

This Paul Verhoeven directed film is puzzling, but at the same time quite fun. Fans of Schwarzenegger are sure to enjoy this one. Unfortunately, this Blue-Ray disc, like so many other titles of the format, is missing several features that were available on the standard dvd edition.

Waste of Time

This dismal production confused the heck out of me, because it's just absolutely awful in every way. I didn't think the movie could possibly be as bad as it turned out to be. By far, one of Eddie Murphy's worst films. Skip it.

Never Quite Got It
on May 15, 2008

I never understood the big craze behind this movie starring Harrison Ford and based off the well known television show of the same name. A mediocre film at best in my opinion, with bonus materials ported over from the standard special edition dvd.

Fun But Campy
on May 15, 2008

'Speed' is an adrenaline rush film that misses its mark in my opinion, mainly due to an overly 'campy' presentation. Fans should enjoy this Blue-Ray release though, which offers some quality bonus materials ported over from the standard dvd. Whether or not it's worth the additional price is us to you.

Strange & Gross
on May 15, 2008
Posted by: kevman79
This strange and gross remake of the 1958 original isn't anything to get excited about. Some decent material, but the film just focuses a bit too much on the 'disgusting' in my opinion. Stars Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. Widescreen, with bonus materials ported over from the standard dvd release.
