The two-disc special edition of David Fincher's Seven should more than satisfy hard-core fans of the film by dramatically improving on the initial, single-disc version of the film. It boasts excellent audio options: English Dolby EX 5.1, DTS ES Discreet 6.1 and Stereo Surround Sound, with subtitles available in English and French. It also features incredible picture quality in an anamorphic widescreen letterbox format, remastered from the original negative and set at a theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The special features are abundant, including four feature length audio commentaries by David Fincher, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and others, deleted scenes and extended takes, the original theatrical trailer, a DVD-ROM "John Doe" website that probes the killer's mind with his fan sites, reading list, his photo gallery and a penetrating look at the seven deadly sins; alternate endings to the picture with animated storyboards to illustrate them and an electronic press kit, and several galleries with production designs and stills.

'Seven' is a movie that most people will only want to watch once, though I'm sure there are some who watch it regularly, but I'm not sure why. The movie is tasteless and quite uncomfortable in my opinion. Plenty of bonus material on this special edition for those who will enjoy it.

As a guy, I can't say I'm head-over-heels for 'Dirty Dancing,' but it's not all that bad, and the ladies seem to love it for some reason. Plenty of bonus material, widescreen.
Emile Ardolino's smash hit Dirty Dancing gets the two-disc deluxe treatment on this special edition DVD. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo and DTS Stereo. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. The extensive supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by choreographer Kenny Ortega, cinematographer Jeff Jur, and other members of the crew. Interviews with cast and crew members (including Jennifer Grey, who also records a video introduction to the film), snippets of the successful Dirty Dancing Live concert tour, three music videos, and a trailer track all add additional value to this DVD for any fan.

As a guy, I can't say I'm head-over-heels for 'Dirty Dancing,' but it's not all that bad, and the ladies seem to love it for some reason. Nice special edition here, stocked with bonus material not available on the previous dvd release. Enhanced Widescreen.
A solid DVD treatment serves to lift this mountaineering adventure from the realm of the ordinary. The picture is a stunning widescreen transfer, presented in its 1.85:1 aspect ratio. It is crystal clear and worthy of a postcard, highlighting the awe-inspiring mountain that makes up the film's set piece. Sound is in Dolby Digital 5.1 and gets well used during some of the headier action scenes. Viewers will especially enjoy the mountain of extras, including an information-laden commentary from director Martin Campbell and producer Lloyd Phillips. Also on the disc is a documentary on the making of the film, with plenty of behind-the-scenes footage and a section called "Search and Rescue Tales." This title is somewhat misleading, since viewers get a slew of mini-featurettes about the making of the film instead of real-life mountaineering stories. Still, they're very interesting and give a good look at the making of Vertical Limit. Of course, there are also the requisite trailers and bios here as well. Regardless of what one may think of the film itself, the DVD ofVertical Limit is well worth checking out.

'Vertical Limit' is a decent movie at best, but it does contain some real heart-stopping material in certain scenes. Worth a watch. Fans who prefer bonus features will want to buy this version, but those who enjoy DTS sound may want to opt for the more expensive SuperBit release.
The action film Vertical Limit gets the superbit treatment, a process that sacrifices extras in order to maximize picture and sound quality, on this release. The DVD offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1. English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Portuguese subtitles are accessible. This release does offer excellent sound and picture quality.

Michael Douglas gives one of his best performances and portrays the epitomy of what you would expect of a typical slimy stock swindler. Overall, I'm not a huge fan of this picture, but there's plenty of bonus material on this dvd for those who did.

Here's a well put together 2-disc special edition dvd set to a movie that's not so great. Only a few scattered moments of laughter throughout the whole picture.

this full-screen dvd version alters the original theatrical aspect ratio of the movie from 2.35:1 to 1.33:1, giving a picture in which you lose almost 50% of the image in every frame.

I'm kind of surprised that Martin Scorsese won the Best Director Oscar and Best Picture Oscar for this movie, which was good, but not great. Scorsese has done far better work than this film, for which he didn't win any awards. Nice Blue-Ray release, with ample bonus material for those who enjoyed the film.

'It Could Happen to You' is a movie with a sweet and heartwarming tale that I almost completely enjoyed. The only setback in my opinion is Rosie Perez, whose voice I just cannot stand for some reason. Recommended! Widescreen.
