This Album is just good. There is not one song that is bad or that you find yourself skipping over. I'm more partial to Lateralus, myself but Parabola is great to. Every once in awhile band comes up with an album you don't get tired of and for me this is it.
Carl Schenkel's underrated The Mighty Quinn comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, and a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer. This is a fine DVD from MGM/UA.

All in all this was a good movie. I rarely find any of Denzel Washigton's movies to be bad. He plays a cop who has to track down a childhood friend for a crime, but is his friend really the criminal? The scenes were acted out well t was a very entertaining movie.
What's great about it: Denzel pulled off being a Caribean cop
What's not so great: Typical plot as far as the true bad guy being a good guy
Charles Shyer's follow-up to his remake of Father of the Bride comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.0. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include a theatrical trailer, a production featurette, and some commentary from stars Steve Martin and Martin Short. This generous disc, while not fully loaded, does contain enough features to interest those who might have ignored this film during its initial theatrical run.

This is the follow up to Father of the Bride. In it he finds out that his daughter is having a kid and then the fun begins. What I love about this film is that it's a show you could watch with the family. There are some moments when adult matters are suggested but compared to the filth that's out there now the movie is very tame.
What's great about it: Wholesome Comedy
What's not so great: Not as good as Father of the Bride 1
For years people had been clamoring for the release of the '80s classic The Goonies on DVD. Featuring a cast of crazy and kooky characters, director Richard Donner's fantasy-filled children's tale comes to DVD in an edition worthy of One Eyed Willie's gold. Warner has done a spectacular job cleaning up the anamorphic 2.35:1 print, making colors look exciting and alive. Sloth and Chunk have never looked so clean and concise! Black levels are solid and there is a minimum of edge enhancement. To say the least, this is the best The Goonies has ever looked, and Warner gets high praise for doing a terrific job on the transfer. Audio is presented in a new Dolby Digital 5.1 remix, and although it's not as impressive as other remixes, this one does a great job of enveloping the viewer in the world of The Goonies. All the speakers are used during many action sequences, and dialogue, effects and Dave Grusin's hyperactive music score are all crisp and clear. Also featured are Dolby Surround 2.0 tracks in English and French, as well as a Dolby Mono 1.0 track in Spanish. Finally there are subtitles in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Many fans will be happy to know that Warner has put much time and effort into including some great supplemental features. A video/audio commentary track with all seven original Goonies plus Richard Donner is both amusing and nostalgic. Warner splices scenes from the movie with images from the recording session to bring fans a unique and interesting commentary track by the stars of the movie. "The Making of the Goonies" is a 1985 promotional documentary that includes interviews with cast and crew, as well as behind-the-scenes glimpses of the production. A two-part Cyndi Lauper video for the song "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" entertains with guest stars such as pro wrestlers "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and the Iron Sheik. Directed by Richard Donner, this video is a riot to watch, and the song is unexpectedly catchy. Finally there is an anamorphic theatrical trailer along with some deleted outtakes featuring the infamous "Octopus" scene, mentioned in the film but rarely seen by fans. Drooling fans of this classic kids film will be ecstatic to get their hands on some great extra features, a nice transfer, and finely mixed audio tracks. In the words of Cyndi Lauper, The Goonies certainly 'R' good enough!

Blast from the past

I recently revisited this movie and it is still great. "Hey you guys!" I love the acting and the story. If you love comical family movies I'd get it. Loved it as a kid? Well, your kids will love it too.
This was a pretty good movie. It does fit the stereotypical new kid gets picked on, trains and then kicks butt formula, but the formula works. I liked it alot and would recommend it. the fight scenes are great.
What's great about it: Nice mix of fighting an dstory
What's not so great: I wish there had been one more fight scene
This movie wasn't bad. There was plenty of action and martial arts and Jackie Chan and Jet Li were great. It was very reminiscent of Karate Kid but set in a chinese fantasy setting and I think this was the weak link for me. Other than that, I thought the movie was great the whole mythical story line was interesting and I thought the witch bounty hunter was a cool idea. Even with the Karate Kid theme it was a good movie.
Shaun of the dead is a parody of the typical zombie movies. It's about a guy who's sort of a loser who finds himself in a position to be a hero when there is a zombie infestation in London. There's a girl involved, his best friend who's a bigger loser than he is, his mum and his step-father. If you liek funny stuff this is a must see.
What's great about it: Very Funny
What's not so great: If you really wanted a horror, this isn't it
Over all this movie wasn't half bad in comparison to what I thought it would be like. The idea is this guy is playing these girls and there is a 4th girl who sort of watches it all unfold. eventually the girls realize their being played for fools and they ask the 4th girl to become thier device for revenge. It was funny once you get past the maturity level of the movie and take it at face value.
Previously adapted for the screen by legendary Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky, Stanislaw Lem's philosophical sci-fi mind-trip gets a reworking by director Steven Soderbergh and arrives on DVD courtesy of 20th Century Fox. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, the cool blue hues of the space station are rich and deep, with earthbound scenes offering a seductively organic and effectively warm contrast. Much of this film is fairly dark, with solid blacks and near-perfect skin tones making for a beautiful presentation. Additionally, the 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround audio track makes good use of the minimal audio scheme of the film as well as composer Cliff Martinez's rich but restrained score. A commentary track featuring both director Soderbergh and producer James Cameron proves both enticing with its tales of what was left on the cutting room floor, and frustrating for fans of the film who would have liked to have seen more. The two seem to respect one another's visions even if those visions aren't always on the same wavelength, and their easy rapport makes for an interesting listen as they discuss some of the more philosophical angles of the story and their impressions of the final product. Likewise, an HBO making-of special and a featurette entitled "Solaris: Behind the Planet" offer interesting perspectives on the production, as well as providing a tantalizing glimpse of what might have been. Viewers with a fondness for the written word can view the screenplay. And a theatrical teaser and trailer round things out nicely.

Not Good

The plot was horrible and I never really knew what was going on by the end of the movie. It had a decent cast but the rolls were so bad no actor could save them. I give this two thumbs down.
