Great features but SLOW

Comparing this to the Garmin 40 I've used, I love all the features on this unit that the Garmin doesn't have like the ding-dings when making a turn, 1-touch menu, Favorites list sorted by alpha order not distance, ability to route by most/least use of highways. However, compared to the Garmin, this Magellan is really slow to input a new address and slow to acquire a signal. There is usually a 1-minute delay between entering the first and second letter while it performs the lookup. It also loses the signal if it's not close the window whereas the Garmin can usually route even when inside the center console box. I'm keeping it but know that it takes extra patience to input an address and have to keep it near the window.

how do I get pics into my desk-top

The way I do it is pop out the SD card and insert it into the SD card reader on my laptop. You could probably find a cable to plug in the camera to the computer to download this way, but I found that taking out the SD card is the quickest way.
