Joe Johnston's adventure film Hidalgo arrives on DVD with a full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio. The English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1. French and Spanish soundtracks have been recorded as well. This THX-certified disc offers first-rate picture and sound quality. Supplemental materials include a nine-minute behind-the-scenes featurette that touches on aspects of production as well as the history of the real people and events depicted in the film. A more extensive featurette on the stallions is available for those with PCs that have DVD-ROM drives. Trailers for a handful of other releases round out the extras. This is a fine disc for what it is, but the same extras are available on a different DVD that also boasts a widescreen transfer of the film. That version is preferable to this one.

This is a very good movie but I felt bad for his horse. Interesting throughout.
The cranky beast with a heart of gold returns to the big screen in this sequel to the computer-animated smash hit Shrek. After massive green ogre Shrek (voice of Mike Myers) and his new bride, Princess Fiona (voice of Cameron Diaz), return from their honeymoon, they receive an invitation to visit Fiona's parents, King Harold (voice of John Cleese) and Queen Lillian (voice of Julie Andrews), who are the monarchs of The Land Far, Far Away. However, the king and queen are more than a bit alarmed to discover their new son-in-law is a monster the color of algae, and that their daughter's little problem with a magical spell gone wrong has turned into a full-time skin condition. Certain this isn't the sort of "happily ever after" they dreamed of for their daughter, King Harold decides to take Shrek out of the picture and return Fiona to her former beauty with the help of Prince Charming (voice of Rupert Everett), the Fairy Godmother (voice of Jennifer Saunders), and ogre-slaying feline Puss in Boots (voice of Antonio Banderas). Shrek 2 also features the voice of Eddie Murphy returning as Donkey, as well as Larry King as an Ugly Stepsister.

This is my favorite of the three movies. Very funny and fun for everyone.

This is a fun movie to watch and a great movie for kids.
Ron Shelton's buddy-basketball comedy White Men Can't Jump comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a deleted scene that has been edited into the body of the feature, theatrical trailers, television advertisements, and a music video for Riff's "White Men Can't Jump." This is a solid release from 20th Century Fox.

I enjoyed watching this movie. The lead actors do a really good job and the story line was interesting.
Michael Mann's biopic Ali rightfully earned Will Smith the best reviews of his career as well as a nomination for Best Actor from the Academy. Mann has added scenes and extended other sequences to create the director's cut that appears on this disc. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.40:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Mann. His comments tend toward commenting on the historical events depicted in the film rather than to the filmmaking process, but he does offer much insight into his intentions with the film. A newly produced making-of documentary rounds out this solid release.

The big-screen adaptation of Jim Davis' popular comic strip Garfield debuts on DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame image. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and French subtitles are accessible. This disc does offer first-rate sound and picture quality.

This is a pretty good movie and it has its funny parts but I like the original version more.
Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
