Phil Alden Robinson's acclaimed fantasy about a man whose dreams bring him into contact with disgraced baseball legend "Shoeless" Joe Jackson goes into extra innings in this special edition DVD set. This release of Field of Dreams has been transferred to disc in letterboxed format at the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has also been enhanced for anamoprhic play on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English-language audio appears in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, while a dubbed French-language soundtrack is in Dolby Digital Surround; optional subtitles in Spanish and French are also included. Bonus materials include a commentary track with writer and director Phil Alden Robinson and cinematographer John Lindley; a selection of deleted scenes; a visit to Galena, IL, the city where the film was shot, and the field which was built for the movie and still stands today; a documentary on the film from Bravo's From Page to Screen series; a discussion of the film (hosted by Kevin Costner) and how it relates to family, ambitions, and baseball; and a documentary on the movie's dominant themes, "From Father to Son: Passing Along the Pastime."

Steer Clear!

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MOVIE. DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. I hope this has made my opinion clear. This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The acting is bad with the characters being unbelievable. It seems as if the director decided to splice random death scenes together and call it a movie... and we are supposed to buy it!? You have been warned to not only save your money, but your time. Don't even bother if it is free to view or own!

This two-disc Special Edition of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves offers a variety of extras left off the film's initial DVD release. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Kevin Costner and Kevin Reynolds -- who would later have a serious falling out during the making of Waterworld -- and a second commentary track recorded by cast members Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater along with producers Pen Densham and John Watson. The second disc in the package offers a making-of documentary, live footage of Bryan Adams performing his mega-smash love theme from the film, the film's original score presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, a look at the various weapons used in the film, production notes, trailers, and interviews with the cast and crew. This is a first-rate release from Warner Bros.

Best "Robin Hood" flick around!

This is the best version of a robin hood movie that has been made. The scenes that were added back in to the movie, however, are not necessary (I would prefer they were not there at all after watching it). Overall acting is fantastic as well as the story. I definitely recommend this one!

The film that elevated actor-turned-director Kevin Costner to the status of premier Hollywood talent arrives on DVD in a feature-packed edition that truly takes the viewer behind the scenes of this modern-day classic thanks to MGM/UA Home Video. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and accompanied by audio rendered in closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1, this release also offers optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles. Of course a fantastic presentation of the extended version of the film itself is only the beginning, and in addition to offering the definitive release of Dances With Wolves this disc also offers such bonus materials as "The Creation of an Epic" retrospective documentary, an original making-of featurette, audio commentary with director/star Costner and producer Jim Wilson, an original music video, a photo montage with narration by Ben Glass, a poster gallery, television spots, and an original theatrical trailer.

Very good movie

This movie is a classic, and is what dramas are all about. Make sure you have enough time to sit through it though, because it is very long. Do not expect a lot of action and fighting sequences... the movie is much deeper than that. This is a movie that I think everyone should experience.

In this made-for-cable horror story, Dr. Peña (Giancarlo Esposito) is a scientist with a passionate interest in the chupacabra, a South American creature similar to the North American Bigfoot or Yeti. While many believe the chupacabra is a myth, Peña is convinced the beast truly exists, and he sets out to find it. Peña succeeds in capturing a living chupacabra in the Caribbean, but discovers the animal is stronger and more dangerous than he expected -- it's strong, has a violent nature, and can withstand tremendous punishment. Nevertheless, Peña goes ahead with his plan to take the chupacabra to the United States, and sneaks the beast on board an ocean liner headed for America. As bad luck would have it, the monster escapes from its cage, and begins killing the passengers at a feverish pace. Now Randolph (John Rhys-Davies), the ship's captain, is seemingly the only one who can subdue the chupacabra and bring the ship home.

Good "bad" movie
on November 7, 2008

This is one of those movies that you don't expect or watch it because it is good. You watch this one because it is so bad... acting, special effects, etc. I am recommending this to anyone who loves these type of movies, as those that are on Sci-Fi. It is a movie you can fall asleep to and wake up without missing a thing (b/c there is little plot advance). I find this to be an entertaining monster movie, but it is only recommended if you like cheaper made monster movies. I am not recommending this to the basic movie goer.

Season 4 of the acclaimed mockumentary opens with the discovery that Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak) has ascended the corporate ladder from fresh-faced intern to stylishly bearded corporate chieftain. The young gun promptly exercises his authority by charging Dunder Mifflin into the digital age, an affront to technologically dull Scranton branch boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell). Here are the romantic "fax" of life at the office: Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) are hot, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey) are not, and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms) and Angela are giving it a shot. A giddy Jam (Jim/Pam) proudly bring their hushed and long-delayed romance to public light, even spending an unsettling night at the Schrute family farm. Dwight confesses to killing Angela's treasured cat Sprinkles, prompting Angela to terminate their romance, which leaves tight Dwight heartbroken and miserable. Angela, in turn, falls into the arms of newest staffer Andy, but only reluctantly. As for Michael, he huffs and puffs through a 5K fun run; hopes to attend a Web-site launch party in the Big Apple; faces a ballooning personal debt; goes on a wilderness survival retreat; butts heads with desk jockey Stanley Hudson (Leslie David Baker); and travels a bumpy-road romance with high-maintenance ex-bigwig Jan Levinson (Melora Hardin), who's mired in a messy wrongful-termination lawsuit with corporate. All this doesn't stop Michael from obsessing over a model in an office-supply catalog or clubbing for "hot hotties" with Ryan in New York. As the year winds down, slumping human-resources drone Toby Flenderson (Paul Lieberstein) decides to quit his post and move to Costa Rica. This development prompts the arrival of a new HR worker named Holly (Amy Ryan), whose sunny presence clearly begins to brighten Michael's downcast world.

Good, but not the best of the seasons

I love the office, and would recommend this to any office fan. However, this is probably my leasT favorite season. Some of the plots and things the characters do seem unbelievable at times. Also, the interaction between Jim and Dwight is not as great as in previous seasons. I think most of these struggles came from the strike which hurt the show. Keep in mind that there are many episodes that will make you roll out of your chair, so again, this is definitely recommended for the Office fan.
What's great about it: Funny show
What's not so great: Some scenes were unbelievable or over the top

Best Wii game yet!!!
on October 27, 2008

This game is the best game yet on the Wii. The game has better sound quality that Guitar Hero III, along with a better song list. Also, I am not the most skilled (however am not horrible), and find the 'hard' level much more progressive after the 'medium' level (it is not such a large leap as it was in Guitar Hero III). If you like Guitar Hero III, you will LOVE Guitar Hero World Tour!
What's great about it: Gampeplay, songs
What's not so great: N/A

Edge of your seat thriller!

This one ends the bourne trilogy with a bang. If you enjoyed the first two, this is obviously a must see and does not disappoint. It is definitely recommended that you view the first two prior to watching this one though, as there are a lot of things that tie back to the first movies.

Confusing comedy
on August 10, 2008
Posted by: BCRaven05
This comedy confused me the first time I watched it... is it for children or adults. I know my younger brother a few times questioned things in the movie, wondering where the kids were all the time (since the focus is not on them). If it is aimed at adults, it is far too childish... if aimed towards children, it is not positioned well. I have to say though, the funniest parts of the movie come from Ditka, not the actual actors.

Way over the top!
on August 8, 2008

This has got to be one of the worst Will Ferrell movies I have ever scene. It seems as though he is starting to get over the top with his comedies, and this one is the tip of the iceberg. There is more bad language than you would expect, which I guess is supposed to be funny. All of the humor is predictable and just plain stupid (over the top). What used to make his movies funny was some of the "normal" guy activities, but now it is just being pushed to the extreme.
