Another great Harry Potter

This is exactly what we have come to expect from a Harry Potter release. I great story with a wonderful presentation. This movie looks and sounds excellent and is loaded with special features. I think it is pretty safe to assume you know what you are getting into at this point.

Jack Black Delivers!

This movie appeals to all ages regardless of how you feel about animation. This movie has a simply amazing transfer that is as good as they come. The picture is simply perfect with jaw dropping detail and the sound is quite engaging. This one should be in the collection of everyone that has a blu-ray player, right next to cars and meet the robinsons.

A great buy!!!

This blu-ray has a great price and has great picture and audio quality. The only problem that I can foresee is this is certainly not for everyone. This sort of humor finds its place with a few people and the rest will be totally offended. For those Jack Black/Tenacious D fans out there, rejoice!
Here is the set list:
1. Kielbasa
2. History
3. Wonderboy
4. Dio
5. Lee
6. Saxaboom
7. The Road
8. H*** Movie Skit
9. Kickapoo
10. Karate
11. Dude (I Totally Miss You)
12. Kyle Quit The Band
13. Friendship
14. The Metal
15. Papagenu (He's My Sassafrass)
16. Master Exploder
17. Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown)
18. Double Team
19. F***' Her Gently
21. Tribute
22. Who Medley There is also a long (over an hour) documentary and some other shorts and special features. I would definitely suggest picking this one up.
What's great about it: Hilarious with great picture and audio
What's not so great: Not for everyone

This 10-part collaboration from Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks follows a group of soldiers as they lean on each other for support while traversing the battlefields of World War II.

Awesome!

This blu-ray looks amazing. It is without a doubt one of the best mini series to come about in many years. If you liked "Saving Private Ryan" you will undoubtedly love this one as it once again teams up Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg to work on a World War II story.
"If it doesn't put a lump in your throat, you need to have your throat checked" -Entertainment Weekly, November 8th, 2002, page 89.
It seems we are missing some special features, but I don't see it as a big loss. We are missing some text and photo galleries which I probably wouldn't look at more than once if ever anyway.
Also, this tin is smaller than the DVD tin, so it may fit on some shelves. It is slightly larger than a regular Blu-ray case, but not by much.
What's great about it: Great Audio Quality and Lossless Audio
What's not so great: Not all the speacial features from the DVD

A funny movie...

I was a fan of the TV show and naturally went to see this in theaters. It is a genuinely funny film. The video is great, but the audio leaves something to be desired. There have been great dolby digital tracks that have out performed some TrueHD tracks. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. So the audio is nothing to get excited over.
This Blu-ray set has tons of special features. In fact, it is a 3 disc set. One disc is devoted exclusively to Digital Copy, and the other to a rather elaborate Blu-ray-exclusive DVD game. All of the special features are in standard definition, which is a shame.
All in all, fans of the movie will like this one.
What's great about it: Great picture quality and tons of special features
What's not so great: Dolby Digital audio and all the extras are in standard definition

An instant classic!

This movie is simply amazing, as anyone who has seen it will tell you. My only problem with this release is the lack of special features. However, this seems to be par for the course with MGM. This is a great transfer that looks and sounds great. It is just a shame that MGM seems to be planning a double dip this early in the game.
What's great about it: A great Transfer
What's not so great: a bare bones release

A great addition to my collection

This is a great film and it shows by its box office numbers and numerous DVD releases that other agree with me. None of the special features from the other DVD releases have been ported over for this Blu-ray release. Instead we some audio commentaries and some high definition exclusives that some may enjoy.
As far as the picture and audio quality, this is not a computer generated picture, like Pixars 'Cars.' This was shot with a film camera and therefore, grain is to be expected. I would rather see grain than to have the print marred by DNR and come off as a soft representation of its former self. Grain does not equal bad quality. It is a natural occurrence in film. Get used to this people. The picture quality is great, contrary to what some other reviewers have written.

This is a great movie from Will Ferrell that is very different from anything else that he has done before. It was unique and quite well done. It was also very funny. I would highly recommend it.

Avoid this like the plague
on November 6, 2008

Avoid this problematic release like the plague. Instead, be certain that you are buying the remastered re release of this title. While the box art for this remastered edition is nearly identical to the earlier Blu-ray release, the words "Experience High Definition" appear in silver foil, (not gray), and Dolby TrueHD is listed among the audio tracks on the back of the box on the new edition.

Are PS2 games compatible with PS3 console?

I want to know if PS3 will play my PS2 games before I go ahead and purchase it.
There are no longer any PS3's being produced that will play PS2 games. The 80 gigs used to, and now they don't. I think the last ones that did were the Metal Gear solid limited editions. The 60 gig PS3's also had backward compatibility. However, it was encoded with hardware as opposed to the software that the 80 gig uses and therefore had different problems with different games, as does the 80. The 60 is generally thought of as more compatible with older games than the 80. You can find lists of games that wont work with either system, but they are few and far between. As of right now, you cannot buy a new PS3 of any size that has the ability to play PS2 games unless you buy a used one.
