And I'm not even a country guy! Sturgill's twist on the stale awfulness that has become modern country radio is simultaneously engaging and refreshing. Very cool stuff.

Did this need to exist? No, it didn't. But it's still pretty cool. Obviously the only FFTL record most folks would conceivably care about involve a certain dude who now plays a laptop for a living, but this is still worth a spin.

Killers frontman Brandon Flowers comes out of nowhere with pretty much the best thing I've heard this year. A fantastic amalgamation of synth and soul. Pretty close to perfect.

The way the American press has skewered this band, you'd expect this record to be a heap of trash. Quite the opposite; Despite the occasional cringeworthy lyric (Best to skip the embarrassing spoken word tracks), King 810 back up the big story with a big record. "Fat Around the Heart" and "Kill 'Em All" are fantastic chunks or overtly dramatic metal core and "Treaden and Trodden's" chorus contains the most savage riff of the summer. Drop the misconceptions and give Flint's favorite sons a chance, This is a ride worth taking.

I don't know if this is thrash or black metal but I don't care at all. This is the finest hunk of metal I've heard this year. Why have you not bought this already do it now.
