Rough start for a novice
on December 12, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
The SP7100S drone is a mid-tier beginner drone. My daughter had a small drone a few years ago that we loved to fly. I have always wanted the next step drone with a camera but was always worried about spending a ton of money and crashing it or breaking it. This mid-tier drone seems like a good choice and includes a 4k camera and the ability to use your smart phone and has GPS.
What’s included:
• Snaptain SP7100 GPS Drone
• Remote (built in battery)
• 1 3600mAh Battery
• 4 Spare propellers
• USB Charging Cable (For remote control)
The SP7100S comes packaged in a nice case. The remote is a good size and has foldable parts to include a cell-phone holder attachment that pulls out of the center of the remote. In order to use my remote, I had to take the case off. The remote itself has 5 buttons on the front. The button that looks like a compass on the left side is for headless mode (short press) or emergency stop (long press). The button to the left of the power button (located in the center) is to Return to home or Smart RTH button. The button to the right of the power button is the one key take off/landing. The button to the far right is the GPS Mode on/off. The 4 controls on the top of the remote are: the left wheel is to tilt the camera angle, the right wheel is to control speed, the left button is to take a photo and the right button is to take video.
The drone has pivoting or swivel arms that extend out to make it compact. Just a note when unfolding the drone arms, unfold the bottom arms first or you will not be able to open both arms on each side. For the batteries, the remote uses a rechargeable battery that is charged with a standard micro-USB charger. The drone battery is a proprietary battery that uses a special charger. From a fully charged battery I got about 15-16 minutes of flight time with video going.
Getting it to fly. The fist time you use the drone there is lengthy startup calibration process. There is a QR code in the startup manual that you can use to get to a video. The basic is that you must power on the drone first then the remote. Then you have turn the drone while holding it horizontal approximately 2 times then the remote will beep and the lights on the drone blink slower. Next, you must point the nose of the drone up and turn again 360 degrees 2 times and the remote blinks and the light on the drones stop blinking. When you notice the last led on the remote is blinking that means it has found enough satellites to use GPS. I found that the return home using the GPS work great. It came back to the same spot within a foot every time.
Overall, this drone was fun to play with. It had enough novice features to keep me from crashing and ruining it but I also had some advanced features for more advanced drone users.
PRO’s:
-4K camera
-Return to home feature
-Great storage case
CON’s:
-A lot of steps to get started for a novice user
SUMMARY:
Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for device like this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great overall security system
on December 11, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
I have been a 4-year user of Xifinity home security system. This system included a 6 door, motion, indoor camera and the original keypad and tablet keypad for arming and disarming your system. This system was monitored 24/7 but comes a hefty price tag. I was excited to get a chance to try a new system with both inside and outside cameras without the hefty monthly price tag. This SimpliSafe 17-piece system includes:
• White Base Station
• White keypad
• 8 Entry Sensors
• 2 Motion Sensor
• 1 Panic Button
• 1 Glassbreak sensor
• 1 Keyfob
• 1 SimpliCam indoor security camera
• 1 Outdoor Camera
• Security Decals, Yard Sign, 3ft Yard Stake

Installation of this SimpleSafe Home Security System was fast and simple. To start the installation, you take your base station out of the box and then download the SimpliSafe. Then just follow the directions in the app. First it will connect to your Wi-Fi network and then guide you through every step. The whole process took me around 30 min. Setting up the sensors are pretty much stick and go! I installed the glass break sensors in the basement. The motions sensos were also easy to install. I love the keypad and the ability to mount it where you need it. The cameras are very nice. Both are 1080p and the outdoor one looks good even in the night. The cameras only take a few minutes to set up. I felt like the outdoor camera with the two-way talk was a little laggy. The base station alarm is louder than expected so, be prepared for that when you test it.
PROS:
-Easy to setup
-Can be monitored 24/7
-Included key fob
-1080p cameras
CONS:
-Two-way audio was a little laggy
SUMMARY:
Overall, if you are looking for an overall security system without the monthly cost this is a great option.

Solar/light charging FTW!!!!
on November 14, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
These adidas RPT-02 SOL self-charging on-ear headphones are pretty comfortable, and I love the solar charging feature. They are lightweight and have removable pieces you can wash and put back on.
You are getting an improved Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity that covers the ground distance of 10m. You also get the dedicated headphone app from Adidas. This is available on both iOS and Android smart phones. On the right earcup there is a neat kind of joystick that can push up, down, right, left or push in. The left earcup has the light checking button which can also be programmed to do 3 things by double pressing. You cannot make your own function you can choose from Default voice assistant, Spotify, Adidas Running or No Action.
The headphones themselves are comfortable but did squeeze my head in the beginning. I wore them for long periods of gaming, music listening and several workouts. I normally have issues at the top of head hurting after hours of use but with these they felt the same after 5 hours as they did after one. Which is surprising because there isn’t much padding on the band where it meets your head. The inner head band and the ear cushions are not only removable but washable as well. I find this a great feature as I do work-out a lot and tend to get sweat stains on the headband and ear cups. These headphones are also IPX4 rated making them dust and water resistant. I wish there were a little more waterproof especially if you are working out or running outside in the rain. Due to there size and not being foldable you cannot easy stash them anywhere and there isn’t an included bag.
The solar panel is integrated on the top of the head band. It charges itself on its own whenever it gets solar or artificial light. When you press the left ear cup button it lights up the rings on the left side of the band to tell you how much light you are receiving to charge the headphones. When in direct full sunlight all three rings will be lit. You can These headphones are rated to give 80 hours of playback on a single charge. You can also charge it by using a USB-C cable.
The sound quality was just okay for these headphones with the 45mm drivers that boast a frequency response range from 20-20,00 Hz. A sensitivity rating of 105 decibels and an impedance of 32 ohms. Out of the box I felt the bass was a little boomy but using the app I was able to tweak the setting to a more suitable sound that works for me. It also supports Aptx HD, Aptx and AAC codecs.
The built-in mic works as intended. I didn’t notice that I sounded like I was in a barrel or a robot.
The app has some cool features like being able to see in real time the drain on the battery life and the charge on the battery. I put these out in full sunlight, and they only charged 6 percent in 2 hours. The good thing about these are I went on several runs and lost no battery life; I actually gain about 1 percent depending on how sunny it is out there.
PRO’s:
-Solar/Light charging
-Lightweight
-IPX4 rated
-80 Hour battery life
CON’s:
-Wish you could do more functions with the left earcup button
-No storge bag

Solid choice for a keyboard
on November 2, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
Logitech is known for making great products and this Logitech G713 is another great product for both gamers and power users that like that comfortable, solid and super responsive keyboard.
While I did not purchase the other items the G713 is part of Logitechs Aurora Collection. This collection includes the keyboard, mouse, and headset.
This keyboard is the tactile mechanical switch version which I prefer. The linear seems too quiet and the clicky is too loud. I prefer the tactile when gaming. It does not have the num pad but honestly when I’m gaming, I never use it.
The keyboard itself feels very solidly built with a premium allure. It has two elevation feet that gives two different heights, and they have really nice rubber on the bottom of them. It comes with a wrist pad that like foam covered vinyl and looks like clouds. I think that it is a little gimmicky and chose not to use it but to each their own.
The G713 keyboard has a magnetic key cover that is white. You can purchase additional keyboard covers and key caps. I think the current available colors are a pastel pink and green.
This keyboard had RBG LED lighting which is customizable and be done in the 16 lighting zones. There are at least eight preprogrammed lighting patterns to choose from if you do not want to take time to create your own. This keyboard has perimeter lighting around the bottom of the keyboard which I found to be really cool. That feature has 5 different dimming levels with a button that is dedicated to that feature. To program your lighting needs you will need to download G hub.
On the G713 there is a media control row of keys complete with a unique rubber audio roller. I personally liked this feature; it was intuitive and easy to use.
To connect this keyboard you can use Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz connectivity or plug it in with the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable. If found that which ever way I connected it there was no lag or difficulties. The batteries are supposed to last 25 hours of gameplay even with the LED’s running. There is a battery LED on the keyboards top row and the G Hub software provides a percentage of charge.
PRO’s:
-Solid feel with great design
-25-hour battery life
-Lots of lighting features
-Very responsive on Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz
CON’s:
-Gimmicky palm pad
-No number pad

Great for true athletes!
on October 31, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
The Whoop 4.0 is a fitness tracker is targeted at helping you optimize your exercise and recovery time. Some of the metrics that it tracks is your pulse, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, skin temperature and sleep data. Some of the sleep data that it tracks is the time spent in each sleep stage, efficiency (which is the amount of time you actually spend asleep) and your respiratory rate.
So, that you can understand the information, Whoop has turned your health data into three scores to represent your strain, sleep and recovery levels. The strain score is measured on a scale from zero to 21 and is calculated based on the amount of time you spend in an elevated heart rate zone. So, the more time you spend in an elevated heart rate zone the higher your score will be. The sleep and recovery scores are both based on 0% to 100% and as with the strain score the more you are rested and relaxed the higher your scores.
The band is a nylon and elastane band that is roughly 1 inch wide. I found that it was difficult to put on as the end of the band kept popping off. I would also get caught on long sleeve shirts and coats; this was very annoying. I felt as if the tracker was surprising comfortable. Whoop also comes with a detachable battery pack that you can just slide on top of the tracker when it gets low. In my use I found that I can wear the band for about 4 days before it needs charged. I also found that it takes around 2 hours to charge up.
The subscription cost to use the band is around $360 a year if you pay monthly, if you pay upfront then it will cost you $300. You can also choose a 2-year subscription that will cost you $480 up front. I think that the subscription model does make it more expensive in the long run than some of the other fitness tracker.
I really enjoyed getting some different insight into my fitness, sleep, and recovery. When my strain score would go up it kept me motivated. When my recovery score on the lower side I would take recovery on those days. I think Whoop does a good job at making it easy to see how everyday habits contribute to your overall wellbeing. It also has and internal app where you can journal your daily habits.
I think I got more and better sleep by wearing the Whoop 4.0. You can set a daily wake times in the app, you can also set it if you want to hit your “peak” and get all the sleep that was recommended. You could also set it to “perform” and get 85% of the recommended or you could set it to “get by” to get 70% of the sleep that is recommended. The Whoop calculates how much sleep you need based on your recent strain and sleep patterns.
The Whoop app is intuitive and very well laid out but felt like it was a little slow on the refresh. I usually close all the apps on my phone but found when I did it took a few minutes to refresh.
PRO’s:
- Comfortable to wear
- Easy to understand data
- Great recovery data
- Tracking isn’t limited to the wrist
CON’s:
-Expensive subscription
-Slow refresh on the app

Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for a device like this.

Great MagSafe Charger!!!!
on October 29, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
This Ottie Velox Magnetic Wireless Dash & Windshield Mount is a great MagSafe compatible mount.
This mount can be used on the dash with the included plastic dashboard pad, or you can mount it on the windshield.
Let me be clear up front, make sure you like the place you put the “Extremely” sticky dash pad down before you do because you will not get it off easily. Also make sure you like the arm length because the arm does not extend. The arm does move up and down, but it does not extend.
If you are a windshield mounting person, be sure that this thing will stick to the windshield just fine. I have tried both positions, but I am a dash guy.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a MagSafe case, and I was worried my phone wouldn’t hold on the mount. Boy, was I wrong, it had no issues holding the phone in place.
I felt as if the cord was long enough when using it on both the dashboard and the windshield.
It has 7.5 Watts of wireless charging. Enough to keep my phone charged while using navigation and streaming music while traveling. It also included an USB-C power adapter.
PRO’s:
- Easy to set up and use
- Beautiful and sleek
- Charges great
CON’s:
- No Telescopic arm

Great price for the features.
on October 18, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
The Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 are great at blocking sound, and they do have great sound thanks to the dual dynamic drivers in each earpiece. They are also reasonably priced. They offer high-res-capable LDAC codec support and with the app you can customize your EQ.
Each earpiece has a 9.2mm and 6.0mm dynamic drivers which work together to deliver a frequency range of 20Hz to 40KHz with an impedance of 16 ohms. The Bluetooth 5.3 supports LDAC, SBC and AAC but not AptX.
The way you control these earbuds is much like the AirPods by pressing on the stems of the device and you actually get audio tones to confirm your actions. A single press controls playback, a double press switches between noise cancelling or transparency or calls. Three times on the left earpiece goes a track backward and, on the right, it goes forward one song. You can add features by using the app like volume and voice assistant.
Being an avid runner/crossfitter the IPX rating which is IPX4 is a little underwhelming. So, it can handle small splashes but not submersion or rinsing them. Just a note that the IPX4 rating does not carry over to the charging case.
The charging case is one of the best features in my opinion. When you slide the lid back the LED lights glow and light up the ear tips. The case is a good size and easy to grip and open. It does have a USB-C charging on the back, and it does support wireless charging via the Qi standard. The earbuds themselves last around 9 hours with noise cancelling off and around 7 with it active. You add in the case that will give you an additional 19 hours of charge. So, overall, very pleased with the batter capabilities on this one. Charging the earbuds for 15 minutes give you about 3 hours of use.
The app is very well made with a ton of features. One of sections that interested me was the wellness section. You can measure you heart rate and monitor the time you spend exercising with the earbuds. In the settings you can run in-ear tests, toggle for in-ear detection and change auto power off option just to name a few. The customizable EQ is a really great feature!
The noise cancellation was not the best I have ever had nor was it the worst. I think it fell somewhere in the middle.
PRO’s:
- Great battery life
- Decent noise cancelling
- Great app with customizable features
- Interesting spatial audio
CON’s:
- Only IPX4 rated

Great for content creators!!
on October 18, 2022
Posted by: Ohanaman
THE BREAKDOWN:
The Nikon Z30 is packed with options for creators and leans toward the vloggers and streamers. It has 4K video a flip out touch screen with great audio all in a light-weight package.
The Nikon Z30 has a great feel, the layout is great and feels very well made. When you pick it up you think this is a nice piece of equipment. The ergonomics of the Z30 is great. I feel like I have larger hands, and this felt really good in the hand.
The video quality is really amazing at 4k with the frame rate of 30p, they also offer 25p and 24p. Never miss a session again by forgetting to actually start recording, this camera includes a red REC lamp (tally light) to let you know you are recording. This is a great feature. The Z30 has a 20.9-megapixel resolution that really delivers on the detail. The CMOS sensor and the Expeed 6 processing engine combine to produce high resolution low noise photos even at speeds up to 51,200 ISO. Speaking of ISO, on this camera it goes from 100 to 51,200. This camera can shoot up to 11fps which is really great for action shots.
The internal mic is actually pretty good in a pinch. I was skeptical at first on how the inherent mic would perform, but like I said it actually performed rather well. I personally like to have a good mic to have really good audio. The Rode video micro is a great high performing mic that comes in the Nikon creators accessory pack along with the handheld grip/tripod and Bluetooth remote. The grip/tripod works great for content creators. It is easy to hold on to and use. When you are creating content, you can just set it on the table and start recording then you can go into vertical mode very easily to shoot for Instagram or Facebook. One note on the remote is that you have to wake it up to sync when you want to use it. Not that big of deal but I wanted to mention it isn’t always connected and ready.
The internal system of the camera can seem very complex at first but once you work it for a while it becomes easier to navigate. If you are coming from a smart phone to the Z30 you may be overwhelmed at the menu options at first. One other thing I wish this camera had is in-body stabilization. It isn’t a deal breaker but after you use it for a while you overcome how to hold and use the camera to adjust for it. This camera is created for video, but I do miss the EVF (electronic view finder) when using it to take photos.
The Nikon Smart bridge app is really amazing. I love being able to take photos and video’s and they automatically go to my phone so I can share and post them.
The camera comes with a Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR which is a good wide-angle zoom lens for both video and photos. The VR portion of the title is for the Vibration Reduction or as you might have heard of image stabilization. The auto focus feature works very well. It is touted to have 209-point autofocus system which works quickly and well.
PRO’s:
- Tally light
- Lightweight setup
- Both touch and conventional controls
- Great for creating content
CON’s:
- Battery life
- No viewfinder

Great Headset for PC
on October 16, 2022

THE BREAKDOWN:
The Roccat Syn Max Air is a great PC gaming headset. It is comfortable and easy to use and understand. When using the software, you can really fine tune the audio to be amazing.
In the box you get the headset, the mic, the base, two USB-A to USB-C cables, an USB-A to USB-C adapter, and a quick start guide.
With this headset you get a 16-hour battery life. To charge it you drop them on the magnetized base and let them charge. To charge/ power the base station you will need to use one of the USB cables and plug it in to the computer or you can use one and plug it into the wall. I never found to have an issue with battery life! On the base station there is a cut-out place that your cables come out the back and the base station lights up. When you first power on the headset you get a “Headset on” and battery indicator then some beeps, you also get this when you flip the mic down and up to let you know. Very cool feature. Not only does it make a beeping tone when you flip the mic it also lights up the base station to blue when active and red when inactive.
The headset to me is in the medium weight category, not too heavy and not super light. The earcups fold in so you can lay it flat, and the only adjustment is in the length up and down of the earcups. Now I only got about half of an inch but never found this to be an issue. The ear cups themselves on the outside is like a pleather but the piece that sits on your head is like a moisture wicking athletic material that feels amazing. The inside of the cups is like a mesh fabric that lets them breath. I can say that they felt great on my head with no sweating issues. The earcups themselves are very easy to remove and put back on. The headband was just okay for me, it was a soft, thin kind of foam with pleather covering. I did not find it painful or in any way hurting my head. I think a good idea would be for the earcup athletic material to be up there would be best! The headset is very flexible and adjustable with no issues of it breaking. There is metal on this build where you mostly see metal to plastic not metal to metal. This makes it feel very solid and expensive.
You have a detachable microphone, which you have to remove the plastic piece on the earcup (which I will probably lose) and click in the microphone. The microphone itself moves down to activate and up to deactivate. There is a volume button the microphone side of the earcup that works great. Also, on that same side you have an USB-C charging port then the contacts for the base charging station and then the power button. On the opposite earcup you have the Bluetooth pairing button and multi-function wheel. One thing to note that in the Swarm software you can adjust your mic settings there and they also adjust in the windows setting.
In the software you can adjust the game audio settings, battery status features, spatial audio settings, superhuman hearing settings, mic settings, Windows settings, and input settings. On the input setting you can assign what the other wheel controls on your headset, a really cool feature. You can adjust the EQ settings in the audio menu and save them. You can also adjust your illumination for the base station and the headset then save them. The normal sound in these headphones is just normal and average. Once you get into the software and adjust the settings to your pleasure it really pulls out all the sounds that really works great.
PRO’s:
- Immersive 3D audio
- 24 Hour battery life
- 2 Year warranty
CON’s:
- none
SUMMARY:
Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for a device like this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine w/ LatteGo, Black

is that machine automatic?

Yes, this machine is automatic. Once you load the whole beans or you can a scoop of ground coffee and fill the water reservoir you just select the button for which coffee you would like it to make. It automatically dumps the grounds inside. I have made several cups before I had to empty the grounds collector. Hope that helps.
