Very imaginative movie

This was my new release Tuesday purchase for the week. I somewhat heard about the movie prior to its theater release, but wasn't sold on watching it in theaters so I waited on it in Blu-Ray.
The movie had a good concept of Mos Def and Jack Black having to recreate classic films such Ghostbusters, Boyz in the Hood, Driving Ms. Daisy, etc. to save a video store in New Jersey. In a sense a lot of the movie seems like an amateur reproduction of these movies.
The movie as a whole was quite entertaining, but in all honesty it wasn't mindblowingly brilliant. The concept of this movie had so much potential, but it really came down to two characters making rip offs of movies for the most part.
I still recommend this title, but that's only if you're main objective in watching this movie is to be entertained. Serious movie critics can steer clear of this title.
What's great about it: The movie was creative and unlike your typical film
What's not so great: Acting wasn't all that great and the story-line didn't live up to the concept of the movie.

Great movie!!!

Although the prices of Blu-Ray movies are still up there (the dvd version was half the price), this is one of those titles that you have to see in Hi-Definition to appreciate the special effects. I saw this movie in theaters and it's just amazing how seeing the same movie in 1080p makes it fun to watch again.
If you have a Hi-Definition television and love action movies with a number of special effects, then this is a must have title.
What's great about it: Entertaining movie with great picture quality

Another great album by Usher.

It's been too long since Usher came out with an album, but from the look of things, he just took that time putting together another solid CD.
I'm sure everyone's listened to (and probably by now tired of hearing) "Love in This Club" in the radio, but with all the great songs in the CD, it will really take a long while before you get tired of this CD.
"Moving Mountains" is probably going to be his next big hit from this album and it rightfully should.
At the on sale price of $9.99 (or even $13.99 at regular price), this is definitely a CD you need to add to your collection.
What's great about it: This is the kind of CD that you can listen to the entire way through

Mildly entertaining

Now this movie isn't exactly going to blow you away or change your perception about anything, but in a sense of watching a movie for the sake of being entertained, that movie accomplishes just that.
The movie had a good ABA and 70's theme to it and the movie kept its authenticity by playing to the times.
Will Ferrell plays to the same mannerisms as he has in so many of his other films so don't expect much of a change in that aspect.
Overall, it's still a good film that's worth watching in my opinion.
What's great about it: Movie had a creative concept which mixed basketball and the 70's together.
What's not so great: You kinda know what to expect from a Will Ferrell movie.

Definitely an interesting movie.

I recently saw the previews for Hellboy 2 in theaters and thought that it was interesting enough to take a look. Haven't exactly seen the 1st movie though, so I figured why not see the first movie to see whether or not the upcoming sequel is worth paying the price of admission.
Thankfully for me this was part of Best Buy's 2 for $30 Blu-Ray sale. The special effects on the movie was great and the movie had a good storyline backing to it. Overall, I have high expectations for the sequel since the original set a high bar.
What's great about it: Great special effects and an above average plot

Great on DVD, even better on Blu-Ray.

For someone who already bought this movie on DVD, I can honestly tell you that this is a must better viewing on Blu-Ray. Now don't get me wrong, it's pretty much the same exact movie, but the action sequences and the picture quality led me to buy this version. Those war scenes are so much better in hi-def!!! It was also only $15 (2 for $30 sale on Best Buy) and for that price, this was a good value pick when it comes to increasing my Blu-Ray collection.
What's great about it: Awesome special effects picture quality

Movie is a classic must own, but not in Blu-Ray.

First off, I'm not knocking the movie itself. Francis Coppola really did a good job in the movie's direction. I personally believe that the movie itself is worth watching.
My main point however, is it's best to get this cheaper at the dvd price. With the technological capabilities of Blu-Ray, it does not make sense to digitally remaster a movie made in the early 90's. With todays standards of Hi-Def resolutions in modern movies that push special effects to a new limit, it was a wasted effort to recreate this movie on Blu-ray and display the outdated special effects during the movie's time.
Bottomline, watch this movie on DVD and enjoy it for the plot, storyline, and its cast. This is not a movie you need to see in Hi-Def.
What's great about it: Good storyline, great cast
What's not so great: Cheesy and outdated special effects.

Worth taking a look at.

First off, I'm not to into anime. This was recommended to me by a friend so I decided it's worth taking a look at since it only costs me $15 (2 for $30 sale at Best Buy).
Because I have no prior knowledge it kinda took me a while to figure out what's going on with the story since it supposedly picked up where the last one left off. After going through the movie a bit, you kinda start piecing things together.
The thing that really does it for me though is the CGI animation on this movie. It's simply amazing at 1080p picture quality and the action sequences are simply amazing.
For the price I paid, it was well worth adding this title to my Blu-ray collection.
What's great about it: Awesome computer animation.
What's not so great: Was a bit hard to follow at 1st (didn't really follow the Appleseed series).

Great PPV card overall.

There were a lot of great matches on WWE's biggest PPV event. The triple-threat match between Randy Orton, John Cena, and Triple H had a great build up to it and didn't disappoint.
The "Money In the Bank" ladder match is becoming a Wrestlemania trend and definitely an exciting match with a lot of hi spots.
Also the "Career Threatening Match" between HBK and Ric Flair was good although the outcome is very predictable.
What's also predictable was the Edge/Undertaker match...you don't have to watch pro wrestling for a long time to know who never loses at Wrestlemania.
Some matches that I could've done without include...
the BunnyMania match with the WWE divas (a complete throw in that takes away from the PPV)
Floyd Mayweather vs the Big Show (I feel bad for Paul Wight having to job to all these celebrity figures in the "grandest stage of them all"-remember when he had to sumo wrestle Akibono???) Also another waste of a match.
Also the ECW Championship between Chavo and Kane...wasn't really a match. Hopefully they show the battle royal leading up the the event.
What's great about it: Hi Definition
What's not so great: Promotional matches

Not your typical film, but in a good way.

Compared to a lot of movies out there, Juno does bring something different to the table. The movie addresses issues regarding teen pregnancy and a lot of what people in that situation go through. I think this film portrays a lot of those instances where someone deals with changes resulting from being pregnant without taking away from the reality that the person is still young. It's a really good movie and I highly recommend it.
What's great about it: A witty movie that tells a good story.
