Brace yourself for a new set of tricks, tracks and ways to race. The included Wii Wheel transforms your Wii Remote into a steering wheel that feels great in your hands, while the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller supply a classic control style for veterans of this racing series. Either way, you'll be able to perform impressive speed-boosting tricks, such as jumps, flips and wheelies. You can zip through brand-new tracks and arenas, and also tour classic courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Mario Kart DS. There are even options for trying all-new motorbikes that have their own special tricks and techniques. The action gets fast, furious and funny when you race in Mario Kart Wii.

BEST GAME EVER!

A new spin on an old favorite! I freaked out when I saw the commercial, and when I saw that the Wii was in stock at Best Buy yesterday, I bought it. That's right, I got the Wii specifically for this game. And so far, it's been worth it! My friends and I are already addicted, and it's definately a game that we'll be enjoying for a long time! People seem to have mixed feelings about the wheel controller, but I love it. I think it really adds something to the game-play, making it more interactive (the entire point of the Wii system). In addition, the game has added more features, such as new tracks, new car types, and different "tricks" on the tracks. Fantastic! I cannot stress enough how much FUN this game is. Get it! And get the extra wheels (I got two extras so my roommates could enjoy it with me). It's definately a great game for EVERYONE!

Offers A New (And Terrible) View of the Story

I love Johnny Depp. I love Tim Burton. But I absolutely HATE this movie. I wanted to give it a chance, even though I felt it was unnecessary ("Willy Wonka" is a classic). But it was just TOO weird. The feel of it wasn't right. Where Gene Wilder was offbeat and funny, Johnny Depp was just...creepy. The back-story about Willy Wonka's dad was so not needed. The kids did a good job, but the fact that Veruca Salt didn't sing the "I Want the World" song takes this movie down more points for me (my favorite scene in the original). And the only GOOD points of this movie can be found in the original. All in all, new technology does NOT make a better film. See the original. Forget this one.
By the way, the Oompa Lumpas are not nearly as cool as they were in the original. They're kinda stupid in this one, actually.

Smart, Sweet, Funny

This movie is spectacular. The ENTIRE cast is hilarious! I love that so many of the Freaks and Geeks cast was in this. Everybody did such a great job, especially Seth Rogan, who has quickly become my favorite comedic actor. The jokes never stop coming, and you will be laughing pretty much the entire time. The ending is very sweet...I actually CRIED. This movie has everything. The "hilarious movie with sweet ending" premise is very much like "40-Year-Old Virgin." Jude Apatow has done it again!
What's great about it: The spectacular cast, the storyline, the adorable ending, the gags
What's not so great: Making fun of Steely Dan? Not cool!

Marking the directorial debut of Adam McKay, former head writer for Saturday Night Live and founder of the Upright Citizen's Brigade, Anchorman is set during the 1970s and stars Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, San Diego's top-rated news anchorman. While Burgundy is outwardly willing to adjust to the idea of females in the workplace -- even outside of secretarial positions -- he certainly doesn't want his own job challenged. Keeping that in mind, it's no wonder that the arrival of Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), an aspiring newswoman, is, in Ron's eyes, not the studio's most welcome addition. After Veronica pays her dues covering so-called female-oriented fluff pieces (think cat fashion shows and cooking segments), the ambitious Veronica sets her eyes on the news desk; more specifically, on Ron's seat behind it. Not unpredictably, Ron doesn't take the threat lightly, and it isn't long before the rival newscasters are engaged in a very personal battle of the sexes. Anchorman was co-written by Ferrell, and features supporting performances from David Koechner, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, Tara Subkoff, and Maya Rudolph.

Unbelievable

This is probably one of the funniest movies I have EVER seen. It is just ridiculous. The best is the fight scene between all the anchors of the different stations, featuring Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson, as well as others. Awesome movie, I loved it from the moment I saw it...man, has it really been FOUR YEARS already??? Just as good as ever! Steve Carrell is genius, and Will Ferrell is wonderful (too bad all his major movies since then have been based on this same formula).

ALMOST Perfect

This was a great movie ALMOST all the way through. I enjoyed it up until the end...it was too cheesy and romantic. Other than that, it was fantastic. I would actually give it 4.5 stars if it gave me the option of giving half-stars as well.
What's great about it: The acting, jokes, music used, storyline
What's not so great: The ENDING

SPECTACULAR!

This movie was totally amazing. Daniel Day Lewis earned his Oscar, playing the greedy, hateful Daniel Longview, a successful self-proclaimed "oil man." Even if his character is petty, you still feel for him, especially when tragedy befalls his beloved son, H.W. The ending will shock you (and maybe thrill you, depending on how you feel about Paul Dano's false prophet Eli Sunday). An amazing movie...two and a half hours goes by too quickly!

Clever, Smart, and Sweet

I went into "Juno" expecting to see a silly comedy, and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be very sweet and intellegent. The movie deals with some very deep subjects, and the title character goes through the issues as best she can, for being someone so young. It also IS very funny, especially the scene in the abortion clinic. A very clever movie, I would recommend it to ANYONE.

Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical thriller comes to the big screen in this adaptation directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall, and Alan Rickman. Embittered at having been wrongly imprisoned and determined to seek vengeance against his accusers due to the grim fate that befell his wife and daughter while he was incarcerated, ex-convict Sweeney Todd (Depp) returns to his hometown and opens a modest barber shop. The one thing different about Todd's shop, however, is that no one who walks in for a trim is ever seen again. Subsequently branded "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" by the frightened community, Todd continues with his murderous exploits with a little assistance from his amorous accomplice, Mrs. Lovett (Bonham Carter) -- whose popular meat pies secretly have a most unsavory ingredient.

A Satisfying Bloodbath

This movie is pretty close to perfect. Tim Burton really shows how dark and filthy Todd's world really is with is excellent scenery. Johnny Depp is spectacular as the title character (of course), with great singing chops as well. Helena Bonham Carter actually pulls off her role quite well (she's pretty underrated if you ask me), and Alan Rickman is delightfully frightening, par usual. Overall, an awesome movie. I loved the violence of it! Lots and lots and lots of blood...if that's not your thing, DON'T watch it. But it suits my movie tastes, so I enjoyed the whole thing immensely.
What's great about it: Acting, Singing, Plot, Direction, EVERYTHING

Meet the Henricksons. They're the typical suburban American family, occupied with hectic schedules and bills to pay, as well as trying to make sense of an increasingly complicated world. Oh, and they also happen to be polygamists. In the first season of this unconventional, critically acclaimed drama, every day is a new adventure for patriarch Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton), who lives outside Salt Lake City with his three wives -- Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), Nicki (Chloë Sevigny) and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) -- and their collective brood of seven children, including Bill and Barb's teenagers, Ben (Douglas Smith) and Sarah (Amanda Seyfried). Owner of a profitable home-improvement superstore, Bill is anxious to expand his empire (and support his growing family) by opening another Home Plus location with his business partner and fellow polygamist, Don Embry (Joel McKinnon Miller). However, an unwanted investor hoping to share in Bill's good fortune emerges: Roman Grant (Harry Dean Stanton), the scheming "Prophet" of the remote Juniper Creek polygamist compound who is also Nicki's father. There's been bad blood between Bill and Roman ever since the former was expelled from Juniper Creek as an adolescent, largely by the latter's hand. Bill also clashes with Adaleen (Mary Kay Place), one of Roman's wives, and their power-hungry son and chief enforcer, Alby (Matt Ross). But Bill is not alone in this feud, as his father Frank (Bruce Dern), mother Lois (Grace Zabriskie) and brother Joey (Shawn Doyle) still live at Juniper Creek and identify, to varying degrees of familial allegiance, with Bill's enmity for Roman. On the home front, third wife Margene risks exposing the Henricksons' illicit lifestyle by befriending a Mormon neighbor; Nicki tries to hide a shopping addiction and the tens of thousands of dollars of credit-card debt that goes with it; and Barb tiptoes into the spotlight after one of her kids nominates her for Utah's Mother of the Year award.

Totally Worth It!

I totally love this show, and the DVD set is worth the price! It's the only HBO show that I watch, so it's cheaper than getting a subscription to the network. My only complaint is that it could have been done on less discs, so that would have taken the price down (the second season, out December 11th, will cost half of what this does). Also, it lacks in special features, but I pretty much only bought it for the show, anyway. If you LOVE "Big Love" as I do, then you should definately buy this set, since HBO rarely shows the episodes when it's not in-season (why do they have to clog up the airways with repeats of all their stupid new shows?).
What's great about it: The best comtemporary show on DVD? Who can complain?
What's not so great: It could have been on less discs, reducing the price.
