Nonstop Action and bloody gore!
on November 12, 2008

300 is easily one of those movies that you can watch more than once and still be happy with it. There are so many awesome battle scenes and the contradictions between what a good dictator king can do versus a political assembly that can get corrupted very easily. I rarely own movies and if I do, sometimes I regret because I dont' watch them anymore and they just sit there-this is one of those movies that I dont' regret purchasing. I actually got the bluray version of this movie so it looks even crisper and nicer but they didn't have that here to review and I thought this movie was definitely worth the time to write a good review. Would I reccomend this movie? Without a doubt yes.
What's great about it: Plot, hot actresses, sword theme
What's not so great: Nothing!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great story, bad ending
on November 11, 2008

Overall, this movie was pretty good-I don't think it's one of those movies you would want to buy and watch over and over again but it's definitely worth watching at least once. Without ruining anything, I wish the ending was better with Will Smith having flashbacks of his past but I liked how this movie portrayed a very good innocent nonpowered man vs. a superpowered man and how they can work together-especially since well, if I say it'll ruin the ending but you guys know if you watched it.
If you are looking for a major blockbuster hit like Gladiator and Batman, this isn't up there but it's still a very good movie to watch.
What's great about it: Charlize Theron and Will Smith in the movie
What's not so great: Ending
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great quality, some annoying tidbits though
on November 7, 2008

Overall I would say that this printer is pretty good but as with all HP printers, their software is often irritating. I would have given this a 5 or 4, but because of the irritating software I want to give it a 3.5 but don't think you can so 4 it is because of the great quality it does with picture printouts.
PROS:
-Great quality print jobs
-Great picture printing
-Wireless scan (can scan document and send it wirelessly to your PC)
CONS:
-The software on these printers lag PCs pretty bad when they startup. This is primarily because they automatically check for updates and run in the background, taking up a lot of swap file space.
-When I have a document in black ink only, if I don't click print only in grayscale and hit print, it uses both the dark dark red and black ink mixed together. I didn't notice this at first but after printing just documents in black ink, I noticed that my dark red ink was empty too even though I didn't use it.
-Sometimes I forget to say print in grayscale only and when I'm out of dark red ink, a popup says do I want to print black only on my PC. I press yes, but I also have to run to the printer and hit ok print black only to confirm.
What's great about it: Great quality printouts, fast, wireless capability, doesn't need direct PC connection
What's not so great: Printing Issues, SWAP file lags PC startup
I would recommend this to a friend!

Interesting storyline, somewhat repetitive moves
on November 5, 2008

If you liked the previous DMCs, you'll definitely like this one. Using high definition capabilities of the PS3/Xbox 360, this game is definitely a game worth purchasing just for the visuals as well as the moves you can do in the visuals.
Pros:
-Smooth transitions between levels
-Challenging gameplay
-Moves you do are awesome, goes as far as your imagination for the combos but the moves are fixed
-Boss battles are all different and innovative
-Can play as Dante
-Great visuals and cinematics
-Special attacks
Cons:
-Since the moves are fixed but you can combo them together, it gets repetitive eventually.
-Majority of the locked challenges are button mashing or speed based-wish they had more than just that.
-Love story could have been elaborated more rather than just chase chase chase.
What's great about it: Moves look really cool, interesting storyline
What's not so great: can get repetitive

Exciting, fast paced and realistic!

Pros:
-This game is extremely realistic, makes you feel like you are there.
-The concept of leveling up your character is awesome, unlocking weapons etc.
-Controller on PS3 is designed VERY well for shooter games. Normally I prefer shooter games on PC but this game is one of the few exceptions.
Cons:
-Updating the game is a pain. You have to get it through a patch with a game.com type of website and most of them make you sign up a subscription or pay for a monthly fee to download the patch. If you aren't subscribed or pay a due, you have to wait forever just to get the download.
What's great about it: Realism, graphics, gameplay, level ups
What's not so great: Patch updates

Surprisingly fun and delightful for young and old

When I first heard the concept of this game, I thought this would be a really bad video game. However, after playing it online and solo, I found myself laughing to the point of tears. You can make a "godzilla" chase you and your friend while you make a run to the finish line but the hilarious thing is, you can push your friend off the cliff while you are running to the finish line.
The game is as much as your creativity can go, and that's what makes it fun. Playing your own ideas and that of your fellow PSN people is simply awesome. Now if they can make sackboy shoot watergun or something it would be hilarious, not sure if you can or not but we'll see!
I would totally recommend this to others because it taps the mind of people playing it. It also brings a lot of laughter (I still laugh at the way he jumps, try running and jumping nonstop while controlling his arms to do stupid stuff lol).
What's great about it: Unique, hilariously funny, cute, replay value
What's not so great: Unsure what else it can do but hopefully more
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sturdy and convenient!

I bought this one day to reformat a friend's computer. After using it, I chucked my USB memory stick and began using this ever since. I love how you can install applications into the hard drive and run it on any computer, it's not just a "memory stick." I have to even admit I dropped it a few times and it still works. However, if you drop it it might come apart a little bit but you just need to push it together again. The price is a little steep to what is out there, but it makes up because it's so small and convenient to take anywhere you go. Overall, definitely worth it if you are one of those that uses DVDs or a small memory stick that can't fit all your computer data that you want to keep in case of a computer crash.
What's great about it: Sturdy, fast read, can install games into it
What's not so great: The price is a bit steep for what's out there, comes apart.

Impressive ...everything!

This game is everything a prequel to Final Fantasy VII should have been. I have to admit it has been quite some time since I've last played a Final Fantasy game over and over again just because the story plot sucked but this game has no disappointments. Squaresoft (they will always be that name to me =P) did an extremely great job in creating this game and the level of detail and acting was actually not terrible.
The only thing I didn't like about the game was that the missions kept using the same atmosphere/location so there wasn't enough change of scenery-however, given how much space an UMD disc can hold I guess this is forgiveable. The other thing I wish was that you could control the slot limit breaks rather than it being automated.
Overall, an awesome game worth buying and replaying until you get 100%. I like the New Game + feature as well (first shown from Chrono Trigger for SNES).
What's great about it: Gameplay, difficulty, graphic detail, storyplot
What's not so great: Can't control the limit breaks, missions same locations

Not the best of the GH series
on October 20, 2008
Posted by: Absolution
from San Diego
I have always had an issue of buying GH on the PS3 because of the lag delay that it has with the dongle and HDTV. I'm not sure what causes it but I've heard it's the TV (I have an Sony Bravia XBR4). The thing I love about this game is it finally adds the audio callibration setting, not just the touch which makes it more bearable to play. With game mode, this game has minimal lag (still noticeable though).
The huge thing I have against this game was that it was too easy to beat and the fact that it still uses a dongle.
In my honest opinion, this is a game you would want to rent, not purchase. After you play through it a couple times, it will just rot in your pile of "games beaten and now I don't know what to do with it besides sell it on ebay for a loss."
What's great about it: Audio Callibration was added
What's not so great: really easy to beat, Still uses a dongle

Great headset, ok game
on October 20, 2008
Posted by: Absolution
from San Diego
Overall, this game is not worth picking up unless you are looking for a headset or if you are into clan tournies-it's not a game for people who like to be the "one man army."
PROS: This game is really fun if you decide to create a clan and play against another clan because it makes you think. It is more focused on team vs. team, not 1vs1. The headset in itself is awesome. It's more clear than the one I bought from motorola and it has way better reach. For $59.99, you can look at it as the price of the bluetooth. The only bad thing I didn't like about this bluetooth headset is that you can't end a call unless you hit end on the phone.
CONS: If you are a casual gamer, then you normally want something fast paced. Unless you play infinite respawns (and even if you do), the game seems pretty slow as the maps are humongous. I'm big against playing shooter games on consoles and with the exception of MGS4, this game confirms that it sucks playing shooter games on consoles (I prefer PC so I think my opinion is biased, just feels like you have more control with a mouse).
What's great about it: Great for clan tournies, awesome headset
What's not so great: Bad for the casual gamer
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How do i get the webcam thats built into the laptop to work?

I got the laptop as a gift and i cannot figure out how to get the webcam that comes with the laptop to work.
If it's built into the laptop, go to control panel it should be in there. Some laptops keep it shut down in sleep mode and activated when a program associated with it tells it to wake up. You may have to change some of your default settings.

My games and programs (photostop,exc...) that already run on xp will work with windows 7 right?
Yes, Windows 7 was created to get rid of the compatibility issues that Vista had a problem with (it had to go to basic mode to run XP applications).

My Playstation 3 is freezing on me.

I just got my playstation 3 for x-mas and if i play more than 1 game of Madden 09 in a row it freezes at the begining of the second game in the screen where u make your play choices. Is this a problem with my system or the game?
Have you updated the console? Try another game and if it happens again chances are it's the system. If it doesn't freeze on a different game chances are it's the game but since it's new, you still have the warranty.

connecting to the internet

Can I connect to the internet on my PS3 with a usb wireless LAN adapter connected to my PC? or how else can I connect to the internet?...because I have a wireless card on my laptop that im paying monthly service for and would love to use this instead of paying more for a wireless router at my house.
I would go to sony.com and customer support for this one if you have no luck finding the answer. Sorry :( not sure how that would work unless the wireless LAN adapter can send out a signal to the PS3
