Different! Great story, miss story-based games

If you are used to mindless FPS running around and shooting and don't have patience to listen and interact with objects to solve a mystery, this game might annoy you and you might think it's a waste of time because you have to explore quite a bit. I for one though, am tired of mindless running around and shooting FPS games because I play too much of it. This was a great change. This game reminds me of the choose your own adventure books where you turn to different pages to see what happens next with your story. The bad part of this just like those books is you always want to keep a finger or bookmark in case you want to change your story and before you know it you lose track of your story-every small action determines what type of ending you'll get. And that's what makes this game awesome-you determine the ending. The other bad thing is when you replay, you're like man I have to see this again. But hey, if you are like me who played Chrono Trigger 234234234234x with Start Game +, you won't mind. Lots of people nowadays don't like to see the same story plot over and over again but seriously, if it's a good movie/game, why not? Determines on person though. I'll more likely than not play this game through multiple times like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 3 (FF6 in Japan).
What's great about it: Story driven game, brilliant plot and a ton of adrenaline like scenes that you have to ask yourself, what would I do?
What's not so great: Makes you want to reply some scenarios once you get to know the characters to see if you can fix their story line
I would recommend this to a friend!

Finally an extremely challenging game

This game had nothing advertised well but when my friends told me of it and I played it, I was like whoa it's been a long time since I've been challenged in any video game and have to actually focus every single fight. Normally I just sit back and relax till I get to the boss then I focus but with this, you really need to focus 24/7.
That being said, don't think this game is cheap like oh look, mob pokes you and you die because he somehow held your weapon so you can't do anything and stab you cheap. No, it's cheap because it really really punishes you for the mistakes that YOU make.
Between Uncharted 2 and this game, I found myself wanting to beat Uncharted 2 as fast as I can so I could return back to this game. I ended up just playing Uncharted a few hours (great game btw) and going back to this game because it was more challenging and my determination to beat this thing got the best of me.
WARNING: If you are not used to a hard, challenging game, I would not get this game. This game hands NOTHING to you at all, it makes you work to beat it. The bosses are like Shadow of the Colossus, HUGE.
What's great about it: This is one of those games you will want to throw a brick out your window with frustration but never want to stop playin
What's not so great: N/A

Adrenaline pumping wow!

First, I have to comment on the guy below me: You know are you an Xbox 360 fanboy when...you have to lower the overall rating on a PS3 game and spend your time to say it instead of reviewing the game characteristics and most importantly, PLAY THE GAME BEFORE YOU COMMENT k thanks.
I played this game for a few hours now (I know, I should play more before I comment but I hate people who comment before they know so I had to post this) and I had to take a break cause I'm hungry but while checking new deals on premier silver, I noticed the stars low and decided to check it out and comment on the xbox fanboy.
That being said, this game is nuts. The entire time I've played it's visually breathtaking, beautifully crafted, and feels a little like grand theft auto in a more sci-fi way. The gameplay keeps your blood pumping as you run all over the place, and what you can do is makes you look good on TV. My cousin thought I was watching a movie when I was playing earlier until I got killed (wasn't paying attention lol). The controls take awhile to get used to but the way they made it and after getting used to it, you'll know why they defaulted it that way (easier to manage). You can be good or bad if you want which is pretty cool, and the major bonus: There is actually a story plot! Too many games nowadays (I think best put from one of the interviews with Heavy Rain creator) are "toys." You play them and don't remember anything from it and are "oh i beat it, that's it i'm done." This game so far doesn't seem to be a 1 time game play because you just wnat to know what's going on with the plot. Metal Gear did a great job of story plot, a little too much but this does a great way to balance. Anyways, if you want a story plot movie type of game with cool moves that you can watch yourself do on TV, get this game.
What's great about it: Keeps your blood flowing, action, coolness factor
What's not so great: couldn't find a single thing

Best music simulation game

Pros:
-New type of notes (you now have to hold a note while playing other notes and occasionally strumming to play the note you are holding to keep it playing-even neater if you can use the whammy bar while you do it).
-Graphic detail and background better than Rock Band series.
-New type of drum set
-I lied, actually the songs by Tool are pretty hard on expert but repetitive so easier to learn how to play. I actually got frustrated when I died near the end after playing the song for 234234234 minutes.
Cons:
-Prior GH series feel more difficult
-Activating star power seems harder (there's a button that makes it easier but I'm talking about lifting the guitar up)
-Some of the songs are pretty bad.
Overall, I think GH always beats Rock Band.
What's great about it: New type of notes
What's not so great: Easier than the prior guitar hero series

Amazing movie for it's time

I agree with the prior post that Travolta and Cage are one of the best nemesis ever. This is one of those movies that you can watch over and over again, and then you'll get bored but you'll never regret having this movie in your collection because you will want to watch this again in the future. Of course, you can wait and rent but why risk renting a scratched nonworking disc when you can keep the disc in good shape and watch it at your convenience?
I don't normally say buy movies (as there are a few worth purchasing imo), but this one is definitely one of those I would personally purchase.
Adrenaline packed, the story and action sequences keep you on your feet.
What's great about it: Action packed, story driven

Great addition to music game genre

Pros:
-Awesome selection of songs
-Auto callibrates based on TV
-Large variety of songs
Cons:
-Some of the songs are from previous
-hit box is very small and feels a little weird
-only 4 drum pads (although I heard you can have more if you buy the right accessories)
Overall, great game. The only complaint I have with this game is it's not aesthetically made as the guitar series are and that the play is still the same whereas Guitar Hero made a few changes (like you hold down a few notes at a time while playing different notes at the same time).
What's great about it: Great music selection, autocallibration
What's not so great: the notes are smaller and graphics not as great as Guitar hero series

Great game despite disappointments

Overall, I liked this game because it kept me on my toes and at the edge of my seat in the campaign mode. I was, however, VERY disappointed to find out that my friend could not play the single player campaign with me because they took that out of this sequel. Still, the game was exciting and scary and made me not want to stop.
The co-op play is insanely cool-it plays just like you would in CoD4-you get level ups! Also, you can play as a soldier, medic, or special ops team in cooperative mode which is awesome. Competitive is even better-it's hilarious to hear people scream on the headset when you hide and pop out as a yucky monster haha.
This is definitely one of the games I would prefer to own over rent.
What's great about it: Story Plot, new foes, Co-op online play
What's not so great: Campaign is only single player

Cute funny movie, great for children

This movie was pretty good but I wouldn't rate it at the top of it's kind. Still, the turtle's direct humor was a great change from cartoon movies where he's "honest" and that in itself was hilarious. The Panda bear Po was also a great character with good traits (even though people made fun of him he never stopped trying). It sends a good message out to kids while at the same time showing how being honest can be funny at times even when some people don't realize it, a new type of humor in a movie not often done well.
Overall, I would rate this movie as something you would probably like to watch a few times.
What's great about it: Good for children, funny turtle

Great movie! Great plot!
on November 14, 2008
Posted by: Absolution

This movie was amazing. The plot was very engaging and compared to the first movie with Jack Nicholson and introducing Batman, this one was a way better plot to introduce how he became the Batman. The way this movie portrayed him growing into the dark knight and how he disappears randomly when talking to Gordon matches DC Comics right on.
It is rare for me to own a DVD of a movie and keep it, but this one is definitely a keeper. Since the bluray came out, it has definitely been added to my Christmas list for 2008, even though I have the DVD bluray better! =)
What's great about it: Movie cinematics, plot, concept from comic
What's not so great: Needed more fight scenes

Awesome movie!

Overall, I thought this movie was pretty good. It's different than other movies so it kept me on the edge of my seat all throughout the movie. I like how they pictured elves to look like what they should and still have the slow aging background of that race. I have a real soft spot when there are elves in movies though so my opinion might be a little biased.
The one thing I didn't really like was the caretaker guy was annoying and it was hard to tell if it was bad acting or if he really acted and spoke that way, which makes it really good acting in my books. This movie might be a good purchase as I could see myself watching this movie again in the near future.
What's great about it: Cute Elves, action sequences, different than other movies
What's not so great: Ending

How do i get the webcam thats built into the laptop to work?

I got the laptop as a gift and i cannot figure out how to get the webcam that comes with the laptop to work.
If it's built into the laptop, go to control panel it should be in there. Some laptops keep it shut down in sleep mode and activated when a program associated with it tells it to wake up. You may have to change some of your default settings.

Will windows 7 work with everything that already works with windows 7?

My games and programs (photostop,exc...) that already run on xp will work with windows 7 right?
Yes, Windows 7 was created to get rid of the compatibility issues that Vista had a problem with (it had to go to basic mode to run XP applications).

My Playstation 3 is freezing on me.

I just got my playstation 3 for x-mas and if i play more than 1 game of Madden 09 in a row it freezes at the begining of the second game in the screen where u make your play choices. Is this a problem with my system or the game?
Have you updated the console? Try another game and if it happens again chances are it's the system. If it doesn't freeze on a different game chances are it's the game but since it's new, you still have the warranty.

connecting to the internet

Can I connect to the internet on my PS3 with a usb wireless LAN adapter connected to my PC? or how else can I connect to the internet?...because I have a wireless card on my laptop that im paying monthly service for and would love to use this instead of paying more for a wireless router at my house.
I would go to sony.com and customer support for this one if you have no luck finding the answer. Sorry :( not sure how that would work unless the wireless LAN adapter can send out a signal to the PS3
