Horror master Wes Craven directs Eddie Murphy in Vampire In Brooklyn, which comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer. This is a fine release from Paramount that boasts excellent sound and picture quality.

Okay take away the fact this movie was to be made from Brooklyn, but filmed on Hollywood lot. Okay you even take away the fact this movie shouldn't have been anyway, but it was and its not all that bad. Hey be happy its a step up from Blacula.

Comedy legend Eddie Murphy marks his humorous territory among the ranks of talking animal movies in this hilarious adaptation of Hugh Loftin's classic children's stories from CBS/Fox Video. Letterboxed at 1.85:1 and presented in English Dolby Digital 5.1, the disc also contains optional English and French Dolby Digital Surround in addition to English and Spanish subtitles. With a talented supporting cast that includes Chris Rock, Norm MacDonald, Garry Shandling, and Ellen DeGeneres, this tail of a doctor's special gift for communicating with wildlife is sure to entertain the whole pack. Extra features include an original theatrical trailer.

Wisecracking Detroit cop Axel Foley begins his adventures in the action/comedy hit Beverly Hills Cop. Paramount has done a nice job of cleaning up this 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen print. While some grain and imperfections abound, overall this is a good-looking transfer with minimal edge enhancement and bright-looking colors. The audio is presented in a newly mixed Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack in English, as well as Dolby 2.0 in English and French. The new 5.1 soundtrack is passable, though it's mainly composer Harold Faultermeyer's techno-pop score that is filtered through the front and rear speakers. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are distortion free and very clear. Also included on this disc are subtitles in English. This is a "special collector's edition" of Beverly Hills Cop, and as such includes some interesting special features. To start with, there is a commentary track by director Martin Brest that is both informative and insightful (with only a few gaps of dead silence during the feature). "Beverly Hills Cop: The Phenomenon Begins" is a somewhat self-serving documentary that includes interviews with Martin Brest, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, writer Daniel Petrie Jr., and actors Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Ronny Cox, and in a limited fashion, Eddie Murphy. This retrospective is interesting, though many of the participants tend to dote on star Eddie Murphy a bit too much. "A Glimpse Into the Casting Process" is a short piece of how the film was cast, and "The Music of Beverly Hills Cop" takes a look at what it took to get both the music score and famous rock songs into the movie. Finally, there is a location map with production information by designer Angelo Graham, a limited still gallery with stills and photos from the movie, and a theatrical trailer for the film. This may not be the definitive DVD of Beverly Hills Cop, but it should please fans in general.

In his first starring role, Eddie Murphy does a great job as a wise-cracking cop that is trying to solve his best friend's murder. Classic comedy that started off other roles for a funny black cop, and a saga that is threatening to come back.

Greatness

Don't miss the first ten minutes or you are gonna miss one of the most explosive scene in the movie. From beginning to the end, it is great with some of the best hand-to-hand combat action, passionate romance, and great battle scenes as good as Ben Hur, Gladiator, and Braveheart combine

Death Proof is a funny-horror movie, that takes Kurt Russell back to his roots of being action junkee. If you saw this movie as a double-feature, than you know this is better of two. Non-stop craziness, and ending that will have you crying-laughing for more.

Director Rawson Marshall Thurber was not only lucky enough to get first-rate comic talents Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn to star in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, he also managed to get them to take part in the commentary track recorded for the film's initial DVD release. The three are very entertaining mixing explanations of how they honed the film to be as funny as possible with humorous asides about Fox's rules on what can be said during a DVD commentary. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Deleted scenes with optional director commentary, a blooper reel, and a featurette on how to play dodgeball are all available for viewing. The best extra, however, might be the ability to read the screenplay, which offers a valuable lesson to up and coming comic filmmakers that if it is funny on the page it is far more likely to be funny on screen.

Forget what you heard, this is a funny movie. From beginning to end, non-stop laughter about a couple of gym members joinning a dodgeball tournament to win the grand prize and save their gym.

When America's number-one NASCAR speed-demon is issued a direct challenge from a gay, French Formula One racer with a hunger for the top spot and a mean talent for tight-cornering, the race is on to become the number one-man in all of NASCAR in a full-throttle comedy starring Will Ferrell and directed by Anchorman cohort Adam McKay. Ricky Bobby (Ferrell) is a national hero with a "smokin' hot" trophy wife, pair of abusively precocious sons, and an endless line of endorsement deals filling his mansion with toys and his driveway with sports cars and Hummers. His racing partner and lifelong friend, Cal Naughton, Jr. (John C. Reilly), never fails to provide him with a hand on the racetrack, frequently performing their trademark "slingshot" maneuver to shoot Ricky into first place, leaving Cal in second. While the public loves these buddies (popularly known by the meaningless childhood nicknames they find so exceedingly cool: "Shake and Bake"), a wedge comes between the two, as Ricky Bobby's longstanding winning-streak is broken by flamboyant French Formula One driver Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen), robbing Ricky of everything in an instant as the trauma leaves him unable to drive. Ricky's wife takes his fortunes while Cal takes his wife, and now he's back with his mother (Jane Lynch) and long-estranged father (Gary Cole). Things look bad for Ricky, but his father was once a racecar driver himself, and now with the help of a training montage, a live cougar, and the courage to drive without his gleaming-white Wonder Bread endorsement, Ricky might be ready to face the track again. Sony Pictures' unrated, widescreen DVD release includes many scenes not originally seen in the theatrical version interspersed into the film.

A Will Story

A funny movie that sometimes goes a little bit overboard on the humor, but if you liked Anchorman, than this is the norm. Will Ferrell is doing the same thing Adam Sandler did in the late 90s, after leaving SNL and making funny cult-like movies. So enjoy, and say your prayers to little sweet Baby Jesus

A love story about two complete strangers, who are from two different classes, meet to fall in love until the biggest ship built by man goes down to an icy grave. This movies sucks, three hours of watching these two fall in love, and than to see how people treat each other when a tragedy hits. Ok yes this movie is the number one grossing picture in movie history, but that's not because it was a great, but because young girls was going back to see Leo (the movie-to-DVD return wasn't as quick as it is now).

Wanna be Gangster, and Not An Actor

Two hours of a movie that could have been summed up in a two minute video. Curtis needs to stick to rappin', but lately he hasn't been doing a good job at that either. Well have fun at the energy drink thing, because as a rapper and actor its gonna take up alot of energy...I know that was corny

I like Tyrese, but how many thuggish movies are you gonna do until you realize that you are not a thug. Waist Deep is another reason why some singers should just stay at what they do best, sing on the soundtrack. A surprise was The Game. He was great as gangster, but fell off as an actor.
