Sound Quality is Amazing for price!

I picked up these headphones for a friend's son, who was "into" a much more expensive pair. All I can say is that this really great kid told me the sound quality of his Avengers Headphones was (a direct quote), " the same" as a much more expensive pair for sale elsewhere on this web site. Take it from him, they are a great deal.

Sublime Vocal Album
on April 6, 2013

Taken on its own, this is a gorgeous more easy listening than pop, rock or R&B collection. That is not bad. I have seen Boz once, about 2 years ago, and this is a great representation of his current sound.
Now, if you are not familiar with Boz Scaggs' last few albums, be advised there is no "Lido" here, and honestly it would not fit in comfortably with this collection.
So put this CD on to "make out" and not "jump!"
What's great about it: Boz's Beautiful Vocals
What's not so great: No hit singles here

No New Territory, But still Very Good Kate Nash
on April 6, 2013

Kate Nash is a fine British lady, with an occasional potty mouth, whose music I enjoy on a Saturday afternoon with the sun shining and a cold ice tea or other beverage of choice, watching the birds flying around and enjoying the fragrant garden.
Ms. Nash's voice is always spot on, and this collection is no exception. She is so good at what she does, it seems to me it would be hard for her to style-wise shock her audience.
That's not a bad thing. If you like, a hair off the beaten path, enjoyable (and very adult)pop rock, give Kate Nash's CD a spin.
What's great about it: Kate Nash Music is Adorable and a Blast
What's not so great: Little if any broken ground.

Amazing sound from its era
on April 6, 2013

In short: amazing quality sound, terrific production values, a triumphant sound recording. You'd swear it was recorded during this decade. Jimi in a manner of speaking is back with what really is a new album.
Those that grew up with the noodling of Mr. Van Halen owe it to themselves to hear this particular rendering of the Hendrix axe. In fact as overly aggressive as Hendrix can sound, depending on the song of course, this album has more noodles than a Chinese restaurant, but like the restaurant.....they belong there and are delicious to hear.
Being a fan of all things Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, note there is one tune with Stills on Bass guitar. You can find Hendrix playing lead guitar on Stills first solo album "Stephen Stills" and on a jam that appears on Stills box set "Carry On," if you want more Hendrix/Stills experience.
I can't imagine any more Hendrix that is truly new and sounds this great, but one can wish for the best.
Any rock guitar fan, owes to her/him self to give this disc a spin.
What's great about it: Pristine sound, rare collaboration with Stephen Stills on bass for 1 tune
What's not so great: You know it was slapped together, but it's hard to tell.

Everyone Knows The Story is the Only Downside
on April 6, 2013

Every American should see this film, period. It in my view (and I have read tons on the matter) is as close as you are going to get to a true history of a monumental effort and success by a large group of great Americans many of whom gave their lives to make it happen. I wish everyone on earth could see this film. The acting is riveting. The action is solidly portrayed. You will be immersed in this tale, perhaps more than most films due to the historical reality.
That having been said, if you are like me, you will walk away from having seen this movie thinking you knew the outcome. Please consider that although you knew the outcome, you had no idea of the bravery, industry and dumb luck that went into a moment of American history that should be taught around the world.
What's great about it: You Are There For History
What's not so great: You Know The Outcome

I Was There For This Show!

Without going through the laundry list of recordings I have collected over the years like this, let's just say some CDs you enjoy for the production and the shimmer; some CDs you enjoy for the songs and the content.
At best this is a fair to good technically speaking recording. It falls flat in production to anything you'd buy from the last 10 years (or more). But it is a powerful, up for the game stage performance from my personal best line up of a band with a grand tradition of great music and dynamic shows.
I am convinced as a very young teen I was at this particular show, and what I hear in my mind's ear (& see my mind's eye) was a loud lush seering guitar attack, smokey powerful vocals, and about 15K kids who ate it all up. The percussion was absolutely thundering. Sadly due to the era's recording tape and technology you cannot truly experience this with the quality of this recording. Not that it is bad, but even with the best possible upgrade to digital sound, beware.....
BOTTOM LINE: this is a 5 star show, on a 3 star recording.
What's great about it: A wonderful set of a great band at it's creative and energy peak.
What's not so great: Quality of recording (1970s technology)

I put this DVD on, and could not leave it, and then after enjoying the entire show (the Suite: Judy encore was worth the wait), I put the CDs on and listened to it AGAIN.
Don't miss this show.
What's great about it: The songs the performances the sound!
What's not so great: The "boys" are no longer in their prime, but who is?

nice compilation

You can't go wrong with this very nice group of songs from different performances; they are all special. I always (not just this time) find myself wishing there were a few songs from each artist (like on the Woodstock soundtrack), or you could get full performances of some of the more established acts. Well, that might be impossible or very very expensive and time consuming.
Buy this and enjoy it!
What's great about it: solid live music
What's not so great: just one song per artist (more or less)

Hardly Their Prime, But Excellent!!!

Having seen this version of the Crosby-Nash Band live and up close and personal, I have to say this DVD is an excellent reminder of how great a show they do, and what great songs they sing. The audio visual quality has the "being there" feel as well. If for no other reason, get this DVD to see and hear Dean Parks on guitar and slide guitar. He is the ONLY player I have heard get the late great Jerry Garcia's slide lick from the studio version of "Teach Your Children" note for note perfectly. He is amazing. Now, can Crosby STILLS and Nash, or better yet, Crosby STILLS Nash & YOUNG put out such a quality live CD or DVD? One only hopes!
What's great about it: The songs and the players.
What's not so great: It is not 1969 anymore, gasp!
