Evil reigns in the Stephen King-based film Apt Pupil. The movie is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and features a very solid transfer from Columbia. Aside a small amount of edge enhancement in the image, this picture includes solid colors and dark black levels. The sound mix is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and sports a vast array of directional effects and Surround sounds (especially when composer John Ottman's music score kicks in). Overall, the mix is free and clear of any excessive hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English subtitles. The only extra features available on this disc are a fluffy "Making Of" featurette with some behind-the-scenes footage and interviews by the cast, as well as a theatrical trailer for the film.

Apt Pupil is a movie about a boy that has a undying interest in Second World war, in particular the Holocaust. He tracks down an old German Soldier and uses him to learn everything he wants to know about the Holocaust and what it was like to live threw it. This is an exiting and interesting movie that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Based on a play by Neil Simon, this comedy concerns Barney Cashman (Alan Arkin), the owner of successful seafood restaurant who is stuck in the depths of a mid-life crisis. Barney's marriage is no longer providing him with a sense of romantic adventure, and when he discovers his mother's apartment is empty one day a week, he decides that a series of extra-marital affairs is just what he needs. However, Barney's career as a spoiler of women quickly proves to be laughably unsuccessful; he's able to lure three different women to his make-shift love nest -- Elaine (Sally Kellerman), Bobbi (Paula Prentiss), and Janette (Renee Taylor) -- but try as he might, he can't convince any of them to sleep with him, and in the end, Barney has to settle for seducing his wife. Last of the Red Hot Lovers was the fourth of five Neil Simon adaptations that director Gene Saks would bring to the screen; Saks also directed a number of Simon's successes on Broadway.

Television director Paul Leaf made his feature debut with this independent comedy about the intertwining sex lives of several adults on vacation. God, Sex & Apple Pie finds a stockbroker, a TV reporter, a model, and their six friends heading off for some rest and relaxation, but getting much more than they bargained for. Love, lesbians and dating are explored in the independent hit Kissing Jessica Stein. Fox has done a very fine job at making sure this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer is clear and very presentable. The colors and black levels are all solid and well saturated with flesh tones appearing accurately. Aside of a small amount of edge enhancement in a few minor scenes, this transfer of Kissing Jessica Stein appears to be in great shape. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English. Since this is a romantic comedy, it's not surprising to find a lack of bombastic surround sounds in the mix. While this track may not be overly busy, it does include some subtle directional effects whenever the music score of some ambient noise crop up. All aspects of the mix are free and clear of any excessive hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English and Spanish subtitles, as well as a Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround soundtrack in Spanish. Kissing Jessica Stein sports a few well produced supplements, starting with two commentary tracks: one by director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld and cinematographer Lawrence Sher, and a second by costars, co-writers, and co-producers Jennifer Westfeldt and Heather Juergensen. Both of these tracks feature a multitude of production information, though the second track by the women offers more insight and warmth than the generally dry director's track. Ten deleted scenes (presented in non-anamorphic widescreen) allow the viewer to see what was cut from the final film. While these scenes aren't all that exciting, it is fun to watch the cast crack-up and flub their lines. Finally there is a short featurette blandly titled "The Making of Kissing Jessica Stein" which is just a fluffy promotion for the film, and a full screen theatrical trailer.

Kissing Jessica Stein is one of my Favorite movies because it opened my eyes to ways of living that i had never experienced. Jessica Stein is a young Woman looking for a life partner and finds love in the back of a news paper in the classified ads. Meeting Helen is a life Changing event for Jessica and I enjoyed the Fresh humor and Flavor that this movie provides to the ever changing society of today.

Tom Cruise stars in All the Right Moves, a movie about teens, football, and Lea Thompson looking cute. Fox has done a passable job on this 1.85:1 widescreen transfer. While the image often looks bright and clear, there are also many moments where dirt, grain, and scratches show up in the transfer. The audio is presented in a newly remixed Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, as well as Dolby 2.0 Mono in English and French. This 5.1 soundtrack sounds good, though the poor source elements make sure that this will be a very limited mix. A few directional effects are utilized, though the bulk of this soundtrack is filtered through the front and center speakers. Also included on this disc are English and Spanish subtitles. Fans looking for in-depth insight into All the Right Moves will be very disappointed; this DVD version only includes an anamorphic theatrical trailer for the film, as well as a few other Fox film trailers.

Drive Me Crazy on DVD offers a crisp anamorphic widescreen format (1.85:1 ratio) and Dolby Digital or Surround Sound options. The extra features on this release include five different TV promos, as well as a few web links, and the theatrical trailer. The highlight of the DVD presentation is watching Britney Spears' tummy-wagging performance of the title song "Drive Me Crazy (The Stop Remix)," featuring the movie's stars, Melissa Joan Hart (of TV's Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and Adrian Grenier in a spirited music video. Unfortunately, the Jars of Clay's sleepy performance of "Unforgetful You" doesn't make much of an impression. Too bad the producers didn't include different artists from the soundtrack, such as the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" or Barenaked Ladies' "It's All Been Done." Nonetheless, 20th Century Fox covers the basic extras in this DVD presentation.

Roger Avary's adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' The Rules of Attraction comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by many of the actors and crew members, an episode of Anatomy of a Scene from Sundance, and a preview of Avary's next film Glitterati (also an Ellis adaptation). This is a solid release from Lion's Gate that will satisfy those who found much to admire in Avary's hyperstylized film.

The Ashton Kutcher/Tara Reid vehicle My Boss's Daughter came to DVD in two different forms. Although an unrated cut was made available, this disc contains the R-rated edition that was seen in theaters. The film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a making-of featurette and a blooper reel. This Disney/Buena Vista title delivers solid sound and picture quality.

Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam war opus Full Metal Jacket is available as part of the Stanley Kubrick collection from Warner Bros. Featuring a digital master from restored elements and a soundtrack newly remastered in Dolby Digitial 5.1, this title looks and sounds great. The only qualm, and it is a rather major one, is the format of the film itself. It is unfortunately presented in full screen, not the original widescreen format many DVD lovers have become accustomed to. As for bonus materials, the title is on the skimpy side, offering only the original theatrical trailer, scene access, and language choices in English and French. Subtitles are also available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Full metal Jacket is A Vietnam war classic. It shows the Training and the Things the soldiers had to under go. I would not recommend this movie for anyone below the age of 12, because some parts are extremely bloody. But i really enjoyed watching this movie, I would recommend this movie to everyone that likes to watch war films.
