Philips Pasta and Noodle Maker Plus - HR2375/06

The Philips Avance Collection Pasta and Noodle Maker is something you get when you and your family are really into eating pasta and you want to eat quality pasta. Someone that is knowingly making a purchase of an item that will take up storage space or counter space. At the almost $300 mark, these are all things you have to take a look at.
That being said, if you are looking for a pasta maker, this is the one you need to buy. That is a bold statement, but I mean it. Growing up, I remember my Mom making fresh pasta. She would make the dough and they she would put sheets of it she had rolled out through a manual machine that churned out fettuccini and maybe lasagna noodles. It helped make the best chicken noodle soup you can imagine, but nothing more really.
This is not the same thing. This Philips model is higher capacity than they smaller model, and depending on your family size you can make enough pasta in one run to feed a group. All you do is put the flour in the machine and turn it on. Then pour the water or water/egg mixture through the top of the machine so it slowly combines with the flour. The machine does ALL the work for you. The hard choice for you is trying to figure out what type of pasta to make!
It comes with a variety of discs that store in a small compartment at the bottom of the machine. With the included discs, you can make spaghetti, fettuccini, penne or lasagna. You can purchase additional discs to make other types of pasta, but that is what it comes with to start.
Cleaning is the cool part, because lets be honest…nobody likes to clean up a complicated machine that does not allow you to get into the nooks and crannies. Many of the parts are machine washable, and disassembly and assembly are simple and intuitive. Once you take it apart, you can hand wash everything and wipe down the machine in five minutes. You would think the small discs used to press out the pasta would be hard to get into, and they would be normally. However, they include a cleaning tool that makes it a snap.
In addition to the above items, the package includes a measuring cup that makes it easier to judge the mixture ratios. Also included is a recipe book that has some cool ideas.
This is a really cool item for someone that would use it. And the fact that we can now make healthier and gourmet quality pasta makes it all that much better. I recommend this to anyone that will use a machine like this. For my family, it earned its spot in our kitchen.

Great in form and function

The Upright Go 2 posture correction trainer is a very simple idea, and is a great balance that leverages technology to sort of help you correct yourself on the spot when prompted. Given this fact, my wife and I decided to get his device to help her with some posture issues she developed due to an injury. As I am typing now, my wife is using the device and I am going to write about my observations to date.
Out of the box, the device is surprisingly slim. Under a shirt it is not really visible unless you are looking for it. It has a storage container in which you can store extra stickers. The stickers are used to attach the device to you back, and feel similar to medical tape used for bandages. It also comes with a charging cable, additional silicone stickers, alcohol cleaning patches, and an instruction booklet.
The device is simple and is built so it is ergonomic and conforms to the raised area of your spine. It apparently has multiple sensors and again it is not extremely noticeable when you are using it. The only time you can really see it is if my wife wears something smaller than a t-shirt. Specifically, if she wears workout gear like a tank top or or something that is open or hangs lower in the back. When she is wearing something like that you can see it as it is placed pretty high up on the back.
So the idea behind this is, when your posture goes forward too far you get a gentle vibration to notify you to correct yourself. That is it, just that simple.
The cool part is that it integrates with the app on your phone, and I realized recently that you can use it and get notifications through your Apple Watch. That is super awesome. Since my wife sets here watch to silent (Vibration only) it gives her a double vibration (back and wrist) which is increasingly effective.
So, in order for this to work, you have to have a certain level of dedication to achieve your goal. This will help you get there, and I feel it is an effective helper and tool. We have not tried it during exercise, when you sweat a lot. I feel that would be a great test of the silicone adhesive. Maybe someone else can comment on the effectiveness of that aspect of its use.
All in all, the idea of this product is really cool. To build upon that, the function is equal to the idea of it. In other words, this is a great product in form and function. I highly recommend this to anyone that has the dedication to actually make the change in their posture. I don’t now how long it will take you to get to your goal, but I legitimately think this would be a great help.

A true portable work horse

The Shark Pet Pro is amazing. I have had a few cordless stick style vacuums, to include other major brands that seem to be about $100 more. We generally use a corded Shark vacuum for the deep cleaning on the carpet in the house. It does a great job, and I really like Shark product line.
Right out of the box, I used in on a newer area rug, which is wool. To me, in the house this is the real test for the vacuum. When you look at the rollers in the bottom of this floor attachment, you can see there are no actual brushes. They are more like rubberized squeegees that REALLY pull things off the surface you are cleaning. This makes it so much easier to clean and I have not had any issues with hair winding around the roller. It also has a light on the front of it, which I don’t see on most of the other brands. This allows you to see the surface you are cleaning in greater detail, specifically all the small particles you wouldn’t normally see.
The vacuum comes with the unit itself, an elongated tube for the floor attachment, the floor attachment itself, and the narrowed tip attachment for those in-between areas that are hard to get into.
They claim the battery will run for 40 minutes, but that is in the “standard” mode only. I think with the first run we got about 25 minutes out of it tops. That was running through the higher options partially.
As a handheld vacuum, it is large. But this is not a dust buster, it actually cleans and pulls the dirt and grime out of your carpet. I tried it in the car and it was very effective. I think it would be even better on pet hair if you take your four legged friend in the car with you.
Emptying the vacuum is simple and it does not clog up like some of the other brands.
This is a real work horse and I think Shark is producing some great products. This is our second Shark and to me honest I think it works just as well if not better than our full sized upright vacuum. I really love its versatility and power and I highly recommend it.

Speck Makes an Awesome Case

I generally only use Speck cases. Prior to getting this case, I had the OD green grip case and I loved it. I had it on my last two iphones and I like the way it feels, looks and most importantly protects. So, the Presidio Pro Case was something I looked at before. I never went for it, and that was primarily because it looked too thick. I love the matte finish, so that is why I went for it now.
All Speck products are great for drops. I can more than attest to that. I don’t plan on dropping my phone in this case, but I know that if it happens it will be fine.
What I like the most is the finish on the case. If you set it down on an angled surface it grips. It goes easily in and out of your pocket unlike many rubberized cases. It really just feels nice and secure in your hand.
The one minor issue I had with it was that when you first use the start using the case it picks up fingerprints like crazy. If you have any oil on your hands (or if you have kids of any age) the case looks greasy and used. But, after about a week it basically got enough wear that it looked even again. I love the way it looks and it is no thicker than any of the other Speck cases I’ve owned.
If you are looking for a case that protects, don’t waste your time or money on anything else. I won’t buy anything else.

So, I have dash cams in both my cars. I feel these days it is not a requirement, but it definitely is something that will help you (if you are in the right) at the scene of an accident. I drive a mini cooper and get cut off all the time. One time it was so bad, I almost wrecked. That was the final straw and I bought an entry level dash cam, not this one. The Nextbase 422GW is what I have now upgraded to.
The first thing you will see right out of the box is how well built it is. Its like a small digital camera with a touch screen. There is a SUPER strong magnetic connection on the front of the camera that I will discuss later. Everything is pretty obvious as far as its given purpose, right out of the box.
I ran the wire from the windshield to the lighter connection with few complications. That will of course depend on your car set up. One thing I liked was the fact that they provided a tool in order to get the wiring under the trim on your car. I feel I know what I am doing, but to be honest it made the job twice as fast.
So after the install (I tried a few locations, as I wanted to make sure I had the best view) I figured I had the best spot for the install. I put it on the passenger side just to the right of the rear view mirror. I am able to reach it well, and it is not a distraction for me. I also turned on the screen saver mode, so it will appear to be off as I am driving.
The touch screen is large for what it is. Its not an iPhone sized screen, but then again you don’t want an iPhone sized screen blocking your view of the road! The screen is responsive and the controls are fairly intuitive. I think the software is good, but not great. I realize this can all be fixed with an update, so its no big deal. There is an App for my iPhone, and the integration between the two is hit or miss. I would love it to work better than it does, but again I feel with the constant upgrades for hardware and software for the iPhone, this would be a challenge for any company to do.
There is a feature I like that is called SOS. When you get in a crash, it links with your phone and calls emergency services. We have onstar in my other car, so we are covered for my wife. But, I love the idea that I now have something in my car. It does say the connection is failing quite often, which I am not fond of.
Also, I am not getting a charge in the device when it is connected. The second I remove it from the power source it dies within 5 minutes. Hence the four star rating. It works well otherwise, but I don’t like the fact I cannot do updates and adjust the settings unless its connected to a power source.
The picture and recording capabilities is fantastic. It is HD for sure, and the angle of the lens is sort of like a fish-eye without the distortion. That part is extremely impressive.

It also has Alexa on it, which is something awesome if you are into that. I am back and forth on the idea of having that in the car, but I know people that love it. So it is there for you and it works well. It reacts to your voice well and it’s a really cool feature.

The TERK black/white amplified antenna is a really cool addition for anyone wanting to cut the cord. In my house, I stopped cable about three years ago and never looked back. We stream everything, but what I was missing was the local stations. And that was only during football season to be honest! So, this allows me to have the local stations I wanted so I can catch the games I want this season. I couple that with a streaming service.
The installation of this thing is simple. There is an App, and it will tell you the direction you need to point the antenna so you can maximize your channels. It actually works too. If you don’t feel like getting that advanced, you can plug in the antenna and once it shows green you are getting the best reception. By showing green, I mean the power meter on the amplified display show green, vice the opposite end of the spectrum red.
Once you find the direction the antenna works best, then you install it on the wall or window. It comes with 3M double sided stickers, and they work pretty well so far. I will see how they work over time, as sticker sometimes come loose as things heat up a little. So far so good!
What I really like is the fact that the antenna is two sided. One side is black, and the other is white. So, I placed the black side down and the white blends into the background as it is close to the same color as my wall.
Overall, I am Impressed with the antenna and the price is reasonable for what you will get. Honesty, there are a lot of people trying to cut the cord so to speak with internet TV as a viable option. This adds to that and allows you to get just that much more. And for free. All and all, I would definitely get it again, and my actually do it for a different TV in my house. I highly recommend it, and you will not be sorry. The price is right, and the results are far beyond my expectations.

So, when one sees a “Gaming Laptop” you automatically think PC gaming, and that is what it is marketed as. But for me, I looked at the components. Specifically, the fact that it has SSD vice HHD. This makes it much faster and allows the computer to multitask better. If you think about it, gaming computers typically are faster and the graphics tend to be better. With the supped-up hardware and software, why would you not want to have something like that for school or work?
The computer is sleek and attractive. The red/black combo looks really cool and it is fairly large. Typically with a larger laptop, they add the 10-key pad on the side. That is what they did with this as well. The keys are responsive and comfortable, and the keyboard has back lighting (red to match the overall theme). The 17 inch display is very large and the resolution is magnificent.
Like everything else right now, it comes with windows 10. There is a 500 GB SSD, coupled with 8 GB of RAM. It says you can expand the RAM to 32 GB. It has the i5 9300H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. There is no DVD/CD drive which is the way things are going now. It is really not needed anyway.
I can quote all the stats, but the reality is the value for your dollar is great with this laptop. It will work great for school, and if you don’t like this size it comes in smaller sizes. The battery lasts for a super long time and it responds instantly.

My only complaint is that the speakers could be louder. I plan on adding some, but as a stand alone station I would have liked it to have stronger speakers. Again, this is a small point and when you look at all you are getting in the total package it is a very impressive computer.
I recommend this computer to anyone that wants a good laptop. Whether it is for school, work or gaming, you will be happy with this Acer laptop.

If you are reading this, you know Bose is the standard. Their speakers are unmatched and if you are trying something else you always come back to them. They are just plain superior. They are small, but the sound they produce is like system of speakers.
I have tried a variety of wireless speakers, from a variety of companies. All are reputable companies and to be honest they all sounded pretty decent. Of course, you have to remember that you get what you pay for. If you buy a $20-50 speaker, you get a something that is not going to sound any better than your iPhone. Maybe worse in fact.
The Bose Home Speaker 300 is by far the best wireless Bluetooth speaker I have ever owned. I personally have it in my man cave, and I opted for it vice an entire system. But this thing is totally unique in many ways. First off, you can use it with Amazon Alexa or your Google Assistant. So you tell the speaker what you want, and it does it. Whether you want to play your favorite music playlist from Amazon, or if you want to know the weather outside. It is similar to a Echo device, but again we are talking about a Bose product. Plus, it has multiple microphones so it hears you better.
There is an app for your phone, where you can adjust everything. You can tailor the sound to your favorite type of music to enhance your experience.
Your playing options are vast. I mentioned you can play music via Amazon, but you can also go on Spotify or Apple Music if you so choose through your phone. Personally, I mainly use the auxiliary option and play my music from my iPhone through the speaker. Of course, that way is via Bluetooth and there is no crackle or breaks in the sound at all. Every impressive.
So the most important thing is of course the sound right? FLAWLESS. I am not a professional audiophile that can hear the difference at a high level. But I can definitely tell the difference in quality speakers. The bass is deep, and the highs are crisp. It is like hearing your music for the first time again. And the speaker fills the room with sound, in all directions. And I am saying a large room. And there is no distortion at high volumes.

But as a stand alone unit without the connections to those companies, this works wonderfully as a stand alone unit. I cannot say enough good things (and no, I do not work for Bose). I recommend it for anyone, and the price a great value for what you are getting as a product. Pull the trigger, you will thank me.

So the Hypernice Hypersphere Mini massager is actually pretty cool. Imagine a ball (around the size of a baseball) that vibrates as hard a large handheld massager. That is basically what you have here. There are three separate levels of vibration and each one is harder than the next. I have to say it really hits hard. To the point that if you put it on the floor it will dance around and if it was not rubberized you would think it was a jack hammer.
As I mentioned, the outside of it is rubber, and it is a soft smooth surface. This is actually pretty smart, and I say that because when you use it the ball will not slip around on you. For me, I have issues with my feet. So I can put it on the ground and roll it around where I need it to hit, and it vibrates DEEP into my foot. Better than the handheld (more expensive) massager we have at the house. My wife uses it on her back. Again, it does not slip around and you can lay on it to focus the vibration deep into those trigger areas that really hurt. It really gets things loose.
The LED lights tell you exactly how much battery you have left, as well as what setting you are on. It says the battery lasts two hours, but I have not used it to the full length of the battery yet. Th charging port is closed off with a rubber tab, so you pull that out to put the charging head in for a charge. I think this helps so sweat will not get into it. If I am wrong, then maybe it has a double function.
The charging cord that comes with it has plenty of length, and it actually has a stand for the ball so it will not roll around on the floor our counter.
Not only do I think this is good for the average person, it would be great for an athlete or even chiropractor’s practice. It feels and works like a professional grade piece of equipment, and it is small enough to take with you if you want to travel with it. I highly recommend it, and I love it.

The Belkin Boost Up Qi charger is a basic Qi charger done right. The 10W power charges your phone or mobile device quickly and reliably. I have not noticed it over heating and it has a long enough cord to place it on a higher table or countertop.
The best features for me include the rubber on the top and bottom. The rubber on top keeps your device from moving around. The rubber on the bottom stops the charger from slipping around on your table or countertop.
It will work for Apple or Samsung products. It says it works for any devices that allow for Qi charging, but those are the only two I have tried so far.
Not sure it matters to everyone, but it’s also Energy Star certified. Therefore it uses less power than other Qi chargers. I can’t see it use of too much power, but it uses even less than other comparable devices.
It’s my go to charger on my nightstand now. No need to search for a plug when I’m half asleep without my glasses on anymore. I highly recommend this product. The price is a great value for what you get in return. I’d buy it again and may do so!

If your local store has it in stock. You will be able to tell that when you go through the online check out process and select the store you want to pick up at. Better chance at a larger store, like the ones that have a huge appliance section. Otherwise, you will have to wait for it to get to the store after you order. And it that case, it would probably better to ship it to your home.

What is the process for making a latte? Is there a separate reservoir for cream or milk and if so, can powdered creamer be used since it won't spoil?
The milk frother (shown in the photo on this site) is a separate device. It is a one serving at a time sort of think. Fill it, pour it, clean it, repeat. So no worry about spoiling or powdered anything. It actually works really well. I was really surprised.

No. Look at the product page for it on the website. At the bottom it shows the dimensions of the trays it uses. Off the top of my head, I think they are 13" wide. So maybe a half dozen size pan at the most, but definitely not a dozen.

There are the original H9’s, then the H9i. Then they made another H9. This is that second H9.

Are the volume and lock buttons easy to push with the case on?
They are super easy to use. I had an otterbox before and those buttons tend to be a little stiff. These are not. They protect the buttons well without compromising ease of use. You will be happy with it.
