I researched all of these claims through Warner Bro's and they say it is true, and they say it costs a lot to market old movies, but the question I have to ask, is why recall the original that has already ben marketed, and release on DVD-R? Poor quality, over priced...
This is not an original, it's another WB Made on Demand DVD-R copy... This does not reflect on the company selling this product, it is solely upon Warner Bro's. Which it is their decision to put out this poor over priced bad quality out.
This is WB Archive Collection, it is not an original movie, it is a made on Demand DVD-R copy, and most of these don't play too well. WB is notorious for recalling the originals and putting out a dvd-R Copy which makes them more money and they don't have to pay for marketing on these. I think it is a horrible thing WB would do this to the loyal customers who love these movies... I would rate this movie 3 to 4 stars otherwise
Anything with Archive Collection rather it is DVD or Blu Ray, you are getting an on demand DVD -R copy not an original... Now we can't call it bootleg, because the company that put it out decided to ell us a made on demand copy of the original instead of selling us the original. It is very high priced for a copy... And most copies Warner Bro's puts out don't play properly... Just warning you of what you ill be purchasing. Great Movie! I'd give it 4 or 5 stars otherwise.
This intense release from the landmark series Star Trek: The Next Generation offers a two part story, seamlessly edited into one feature length release, following Picard as he and his crew investigate a defecting ambassador, who turns out to be none other than Spock.

Very poorly cropped Digital Transfer

The picture had black bars around the entire picture so it looked like a mini movie screen from youtube on this BluRay transfer. I think the reasoning is... It claims to be 1080p. They shrunk the picture to make it look better that it is, rather than darkening the image and paying money to clean up the mirky quality that it still has. This is the worst transfer by far, I have ever seen. The show itself, the episodes itself I would give it 5 stars, but this junk is not appreciated by me one bit. I am glad the back of the BluRay does not claim that it is from the original format, because it is not. It is a shrunken version of the original format. The reasoning isn't to make it widescreen, it's still Pan and scan just like the show was originally filmed in the 80's. But the difference is it is much smaller instead of cleaning the picture... Shrinking it does not help that much... It is still mirky, and poor quality... This should have been released on DVD only... Until Paramount CBS or whatever you call yourselves... Does a better transfer. Very highly disappointed.
