One of the best and most influential standup comics of all time, Richard Pryor is captured on-stage in front of a live audience in two concert films featured in this DVD twin-pack. Richard Pryor: Stand Up Double Feature features the films Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip and Richard Pryor: Here and Now. Both films have been transferred to disc letterboxed format at the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and have been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. (Richard Pryor: Here and Now also includes a pan-and-scan transfer in the full-frame ratio of 1.33:1.) The audio for both films has been mastered in Dolby Digital Mono; Live on the Sunset Strip includes optional subtitles in English and Spanish, while Here and Now features optional subtitles in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai. Live on the Sunset Strip includes notes on the film's production and the original theatrical trailer as a bonus; no bonus materials are included on Here and Now.

I use to own these concerts on VHS way back when...Even after all that time, these shows hold their own. He was the best! We (the fans) knew it too! Get this and prepare to laugh!

Well, I liked it! Samuel L. Jackson rocked this movie! Directions for this movie are as follows :1.Take kiddies to Grandma's. 2.Pop popcorn, get soda. 3.Turn on T.V. and Surround sound. 4.Clear your mind. 5.SCREAM!!! Do these things and you will love this flick. I like the fact that no one is safe and that Sam says his famous line too!

This DVD documents one of the concerts on Black Sabbath's highly successful 1999 reunion tour that featured the original lineup of the band. The image on the disc is a standard full-frame 1.33:1 affair. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and PCM Stereo. English subtitles are accessible. Extra features include tour photos and a biography. The 13 songs performed during the show do a good job of showing why this band is often considered one of the first metal acts. Fans will not be disappointed by the music or by the behind-the-scenes look at the band.

For this little bit of dough, you can get a concert with this much caliber? To see THE GODFATHERS OF METAL!!!Give up any preconceptions (Did I just use a college word?) about Sabbath cause these guys are firing on all cylinders! Why am I screaming?!! Well, I don't believe you'll find a smoother jam. It's a feeling , an emotion that you're gonna get when you see the band that burned the path for all to follow. You will not dream of a better concert. But, if you do, you better wake up and appologize! Get this newbies and learn what true class and integrity is all about!

Can this be it? Just when things start to fall into place...This will get sad, cause this show was very easy to get hooked on. Best Buy sells the double feature movie of The Pretender though...

As a child, Jarod (Michael T. Weiss) had a gift for assuming the personalities of others, which was cruelly exploited when he was kidnapped by a secret government organization. Now a grown man, Jarod attempts to find the family from whom he was stolen while coming to the aid of people in danger in this collection of episodes from the television series The Pretender. The Pretender: Season 1 features all 22 installments of the show's inaugural 1996-1997 season. Titles include "Pilot," "Every Picture Tells a Story," "Flyer," "Curious Jarod," "The Paper Clock," "To Serve and Protect," "A Virus Among Us," "Not Even a Mouse," "Mirage," "Better Part of Valor," "Bomb Squad," "Prison Story," "Bazooka Jarod," "Ranger Jarod," "Jaroldo," "Under the Reds," "Keys," "Unhappy Landings," "Jarod's Honor," "Baby Love," "The Dragon House, Part 1," and "The Dragon House, Part 2."

Not Enough Seasons!!!

This show could have gone on forever. I never got tired of the main characters or the main plot of the show. The only thing to hate about this show was that it had ended!Get this first season! You will get hooked! Lucky for you, the other seasons are out. I had to wait four years!!! You will love the paybacks Jerod hands out to the scum bags he seeks out. Give it a try...And you can blame me when you have to buy the rest of the series! I will wear it proudly!

This critically acclaimed documentary on the long, emotionally rocky career of punk rock pioneers the Ramones arrives on DVD in a strong, straightforward presentation. End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Given the vintage of much of the archive material (and the manner in which it was shot), the image quality is quite uneven, though the occasional glitches tend to add to the impact of the band's story rather than taking away from it. The audio is presented in two formats, Dolby Digital Stereo and Dolby Digital Surround 5.1, and the quality of the sound mix is impressive, giving the performances a tough, full-bodied sound that's even more impressive when you crank it up. The interviews and performances are in English, with no subtitles or multiple language options. Bonus materials include the film's original trailer, interview outtakes from many of the participants, and a deleted bit in which it's revealed that Clem Burke, the drummer for Blondie, did a handful of gigs with the band as "Elvis Ramone." Ultimately, the film is the real draw of the DVD release rather than the presentation, but the disc is good enough to satisfy fans who wants to hear the inside story of this great band -- and hear them rock.

A Sobering Look

For a true fan of music, you get curious about how a band gets put together. What sustains it? With this dvd you get alot of answers. Some times you find yourself wanting to look away. Being a huge RAMONES fan while watching this, I ached for the guys. As all good stories go, there's this side and that side of it. The producers interview past members of the band as well as pulling together interviews of late members. This is an incredible story. This is worth seeing.

Marky Ramone, drummer for punk rock icons the Ramones, helped produce and compile this video documentary, which offers a scattershot backstage history of the band, assembled largely from Marky's own archive of High-8 video footage he shot while touring with the group. Ramones: Raw has been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo; the image quality of the material varies quite a bit, but given the rarity of most of the footage, most fans aren't likely to complain. The bulk of the material is in English (some tour footage from Europe and Japan features fans speaking in their native tongues with the guys in the band, who generally appear friendly but incomprehensible in these moments), with no multiple language options included. Topping the list of bonus items is an alternate commentary track in which director John Cafiero is joined by Marky and Johnny Ramone, whose thoughts are enlightening but hardly revelatory most of the time. Also included are several television appearances (including the Ramones likeably surreal guest spot on Space Ghost Coast to Coast), a stack of outtakes (most of which were obviously not included for a reason -- they aren't exactly fascinating), and best of all an Italian television special which features a 27-minute live set by the band from 1980. While several songs from this program are used in the main feature, it's great having the show complete and in sequence, and the footage looks and sounds great. As history, Ramones: Raw isn't much to write home about, but it's a fun collection of home movies for fans, and that Italian footage of the band at their peak alone would justify the purchase of this disc for hardcore devotees.

The treasures contained in this dvd are amazing! I saw the Ramones way back when with the original members. Little did I know, that my favorite Punk Gods would die off so quickly. You want to see who The S. Pistols, The Clash and many other bands got influenced by? One answer-The RAMONES! Want to dig deeper? Purchase this and purchase "End of the Century The Story of the Ramones". This is True PUNK ROCK!

D'Addario Light XL Electric Guitar Strings D'Addar
By Reki34 from Chugiak,AK
Have to say from my stance these are thee best strings I have ever used. Many of issues with other strings (mostly the 9 ) breaking and these D'Addario's can take alot and not break. That and they last noticeably longer then other brands. Once my stock pile of Ernies runs out D'Addario will be thee only brand I run. Buy them, you will deff notice a difference!
Cheers
