The video quality is not worth the money you are paying for this unit.
The software is so behind the times. Map function, everything is not worth it. No audio recording.
If this was half the cost, it would be worth looking at.
Very disappointed in the unit.
Returning it after one day of use.

I have been using Thinkware for just about two years. I purchased the F550 which worked great for about a year and half? I think it overheated.
About six months ago I also purchased the x500 to put in the back of my vehicle and have had no problems with that one.
Since I have GSP, when the F550 went, I upgraded to the F750.
The first one did not work at all. Returned it 10 minutes later and got a new one.
The second F750 worked for a few hours, then started to reboot all the time. I looked online, reformatted the card, upgraded the firmware which seemed to do the trick.
Two days later was looking at some video and the map data would not load.
I contacted, or tried to contact Thinkware. No response. So after ten days and no contact with Thinkware and after the unit started to turn off, stop recording and finally rebooting on its own. I returned it for a different brand.
The x500 works great. Would love to stay with Thinkware but no customer support, not even a hello return email? No phone contact?
Try the x500. Not the F750.

I upgraded from the a6000 to the a6300.
The a6300 is a little heftier feel. I really like the Magnesium body.
Sony added the audio input, but has built in stereo which is superior to the a6000. You have visual of both audio channels on the LCD screen and the sound is what you expect coming from Sony.
There are a few differences in the menu, which I have yet to explore.
I put my F/4 15-108 Sony G-Lens on the camera and it was a very snug fit.
I started with simple photos and found almost no difference in focus between the a6000 vs 6300. They both focus very well.
The huge difference is the video.
You can shoot up to 4K:
Here are the settings:
60p 50M Super 35MM
30p 50M Super 35mm
24p 50M Super 35mm
120P 100M
120p 50M
You need a U 3 card can write at least 90MB/s in order to shoot 4K
This camera shoots 1080 amazingly good. Much, much better than a6000.
I did some test shots and wow.
As for photos, did not see a huge difference in picture quality. But for video this camera is what I needed and will be testing with a Rhodes boom microphone shortly.
Overall, if you are looking to do more video with a DSLR, then this is the camera for you. If photos are all you will be taking, take your time to upgrade. No big difference I can see in the photos, expect that maybe this camera might focus a little quicker than the a6000.
The a6300 is a little heftier feel. I really like the Magnesium body.

Bought this lens for mostly night shots and I also use it for general uses. I am shooting with the A6000 and it works very well. Night shots are crisp and clear. No distortion near edge of photos that I can see. (Note: no clear nights since I bought this, go figure. However the lens picked up stars between the cloud breaks and it was very clear, clouds, star, trees)
For the money this is an excellent lens. Hope Sony can start making f/1,2 lenses.

I will start with the positives.
Screen: Incredible screen. Crisp, bright, great color.
The computer is very lightweight and fast.
Battery life is roughly 5 hours, but if depends what you are doing with the computer. For those that are browsing the net, watching videos, word processing, or similar in nature, the battery will last at least five hours.
If you are doing video editing, which is what I do, rendering video takes its toll on the batter, cuts it down to about 4 hours or so. (Adobe Premiere and AE CS4)
The good:
Keyboard layout should be wider. It takes a little effort to get used the the narrow keyboard, but the keys are responsive and well backlite, and they feel solid.
For the most part the computer runs quietly, but the fan does come on often and it does make some noise, not much, but some.
The not-so-good:
I am not calling it bad, but irritating at first. The "intelligent" screen brightness, keeps adjusting the screen brightness on me. I have tried several things to fix this problem, but it seems that there is no "real" way to turn it off. The adjustments are subtle, but you do notice them.
The touch-pad.
There is no control over the touch-pad. No Synaptic manager. Two finger scrolling works well if your fingers are in the middle of the touch-pad and you press firmly. I have had no problem with my palm striking the touch-pad and creating problems.
Overall this is a great laptop with two minor problems that I can overlook. You might want to take a hard look at this laptop with its 5th Generation i7, 12GB ram, 4GB video card, 4K screen and for this price, its a great deal.

What I love about this speaker.
The sound from this unit is simply impressive for the cost of the unit.
You have Bluetooth and wired connections.
Charge while listening.
Works great with phone calls.
The case that comes with it.

What I wish they would improve.
The volume buttons are hard to see and are not back-lit so its hard to tell which button to push to increase/decrease volume. Power, Bluetooth and the phone "buttons" are well lit.
The battery, does last, for me at least, about six hours, wish it would last longer.
Although the unit is kind of heavy, the way the base is, if unit is not on flat surface, it might tip over. I do like the rubber base so it will not slide and the unit seems to be well built and durable.

I just bought this router, after using the Netgear N900 router, which lasted only 8 hours.
The setup was simple and the user interface was something I was used to, since I had been a long time Linksys user. The router was online in less than five minutes.
I am now getting 58mbs download speeds using the 5.0 GHZ bandwidth. Upload speeds of 20mbs, and the provider is Xfinity, which is very unreliable. I am paying for 20 mbs speeds.
Since using this router I have never dropped a signal. I am also using the Motorla cable modem, 4x Modem.
I can't complain about this router, it works great, the signal is super strong, and the interface is very intuitive.

the description states the unit will shut off from excessive heat. So what is excessive heat?
When the temp of the unit exceeds the normal operating temperature of the unit.
If you have the unit on all the time while you are parked, lets say, like I do, at work, the unit can get overheated because the sun is heating up the windshield and the
unit is generating heat from being used. This will cause the unit to shut down to protect itself.

is there a way to view files without the PC/MAC viewer? translate or store files in a common format like MPEG or MOV? so it can be shared with law enforcement on a thumb drive or by emailing the files?
Yes. You can take the card and place it in a reader and view it on any computer. The map data will not be available. I recently placed a video on a flash drive for someone who was in an accident. Just checked the video and just the date and time is transcoded but not speed or map data.
Thinkware only records in one format. You can change the resolution but not the format.
You can use VLC, a free open source player, to export the video to any popular format you wish to.

Is the New Sony A6300 available to test out in stores?
I work in Idaho Falls and we do not have the a6300 yet. However, I would call your local store to find out if they do have it on display. Our store is a very small store.

Best gaming laptop under $1000?
That is a question you will have different answers from each person.
As of last week there are three that we had in the store for about a grand.
The one I am using: Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series, running 5th gen i7, 12 gb ram (upgradeable to 16gb) with 4gb video card and a 4K screen. At about a grand.
HP has a great laptop, 17 inch, I believe, 12gb ram, 2gb I believe the video card is a Nvidia GTX 760. About a grand.
Asus makes a great one around that price as well.
These are computers in store not online. Online you have more choices.

I am interested in the HP dv6-2066dx. However, it is not available online nor in any store in my area. Is there anyway I can order one?
You can go into Best Buy and talk to a computer rep. Ask them to see if they can OMS the product for you. I will say that if that product is not on the site and not in the store, it most likely is deleted from our inventory and no longer available.

Why is the Samsung r780 laptop no longer on the website?
The Samsung r780 was only available online, and it alternated between being available and sold out. Now it is off the site completely. Will it be back on once it's available, or will Best Buy stop selling it all together?
I work for Best Buy in the computer section. Last year Best Buy stopped selling Samsung computers. As for the reason why, I can't nor will I speculate on why this is the case.
I have asked about it and have never been given an official answer to that question.

What is going on? Dell says the battery live is up to 8 hours. A reviewer said that he got only 2 hours. Which is the truth?

That depends upon what you are using it for. Most manufactures claim their products battery last much longer than they do. For most people during normal usage expect at least 5 hours of battery life. (Normal usage means net browsing, streaming media, word processing) For me, about four hours if I am using Adobe AE or Premiere Pro, rendering video.
Right now, just watched a 2.5 hour movie from Netflix and doing research, and I am 50% and I have been off the plug for at least 3 hours.
As for fan noise, yes, you can hear the fan and depends upon what you do with the laptop. The noise is not so bad it becomes a distraction, but you will hear it. The laptop does not appear to run hot either, its one of the cooler running laptops I have owned.

how is the sound quality and fan ventilation?
a review said the ventilation was bad and i have had problems with sound quality and volume on laptops before.
The sound on this is very impressive. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound from playing DVD or Bluray much better than I had thought it was. Sound from streaming videos depends upon the sound quality of the stream, but so far no issues.
