NOT RAID!!! MIONET!!! AVOID!!!

The previous reviewer must have bought the "other" My Book World Edition that had two 500 GB drives. This one DOES NOT. It has a single 1TB WD drive installed. The software is required to be installed on EVERY machine you wish to access this device from. The software is VERY flakey. (Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes disconnects during file transfers, etc..)
Seriously, ... I would avoid this drive like the plague. (I purchased it, spend hours dealing with it, and took it back. Too much hastle..
Best route to go that I've found. (Have one..) Is the D-Link DNS-323 and two 500GB WD drives. (Have set to RAID1) All of which you can get from Best Buy for about the same price on sale, as this single drive. Not positive if the 1TB WD's will work in the DNS-323, or would suggest that.
This drive only gets one star, because you can't give it zero... Would I recommend it to a friend??? I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy.. (Well, ... Maybe...) :)
What's great about it: 1TB, relatively fast.
What's not so great: Software required on each PC, only 1 disk(NO RAID)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You could have checked the specs/package contents.

You should have known this ahead of time. Most hard drives retail or otherwise, do not come with SATA cables. Most decent motherboards come with them........

This internal hard drive offers an ample 2TB storage capacity, making it ideal for servers, video surveillance and other demanding write-intensive applications. The IntelliSeek and RAFF technologies reduce power usage and protect the drive from vibrations.

Extremely noisy
By RayBan007 from New York, NY
The WD internal hard drive is perhaps one of the noisiest commercially available drives on the market. I never realized how silent my Mac's native Matsui internal drive was until replacing it with this loud monstrosity.

Not your fault, but being loud should be expected.
April 19, 2013
1. Matsui doesn't make hard drives. Not sure who gave you that info, but your Mac more than likely has a Seagate or Western Digital Caviar drive. (Probably Seagate, though.)
2. This drive is a RE4 (Raid Edition) "ENTERPRISE" drive. They are not designed for home use, and when compared to the noise comming from the cooling fans in most of our servers, these drives are "quiet." They just aren't quiet enough to be in a home computer environment. From quietest to loudest you have the WD AV-GP, Caviar Blue, Caviar Green, WD Black and then the RE4's.
3. There is nothing about installing a hard drive that is worth $100. It is one of the easiest parts you can install in your computer. With the invent of "youtube" and other sources, you can easily find step by step instructions or videos on how to install your hard drive. Once you've done it once, ... you'll never waste $100 on installation again...

Probably just a BIOS setting.
June 26, 2014
You may have simply need to make changes in your BIOS. You probably should have spoken with an I.T. professional. (Not a kid working in an electronics store.. An actual pro..) I probably could have helped you solve this over the phone.....................
P.S. Compatibility issues really aren't something to wrong a bad review over... It's not the products fault that your computer wouldn't accept it, ... or that you didn't know how to set it up...

Could have been a great mouse
By Regelos
After a bunch of research I settled on this mouse since I want to buy something local and easy. I loved the mouse for about the first few days I used it and I encountered a charge problem. This mouse will only charge itself 10% of the time and on multiple computers will only do it after a restart, and even then inconsistently. I contacted support(within 4 days of purchasing) and I was told to go buy a new rechargeable battery, which just offended me because for 150 bucks on a mouse they should send me the part that was broken for free. After buying a new rechargeable battery it didn't fix the problem and since support takes multiple days to respond (I'm up to weeks now on my last response.) No go I've now decided to eat the 150 bucks and just replace it.
I will not buy another razer product again there support borders on rude and are completely non-helpful.

Wondering if we have same problem

Bought two of these and have the same problem with one of them. Not charging. Did yours flash all three charge lights the first time around? What did it do the after replacing the battery?

Shouldn't connect mouse/keyboard to USB3.0 anyway.
December 3, 2014
Just an FYI - USB 3.0 chipsets are not universally supported and usually don't have legacy kb/mouse support in bios either. On top of that, ... neither the mouse or keyboard send huge amounts of data in short spans, so you shouldn't have any need for them to be on USB3.0 anyway..

when will best buy be selling the new apple tv

Two things :

1. Questions posted here are actually answered by other consumers, not Best Buy employees, so until Best Buy states they are selling it, we will have no more information than you do....

2. Eww... Apple??

TV over fireplace

How far from the fireplace opening should I hang a flatscreen TV. How do I hide the electric and cable if it is brick front? How do I find resources to do the wiring and hang the TV?
Contrary to popular belief, "Over the fireplace" is actually one of the WORST places to put a flat screen television. (Regardless of how far above the fireplace you put it. (For the following reasons : )

1. Heat rises.. FAST. It doesn't matter how high you put it, because much of the heat from a fireplce goes straight up, right outside the fireplace. If you must mount it above, keep in mind that the larger the mantle (the deeper,) the better it will be for your television.

2. Proper ergonomics put a television directy in front of you, so that your eyes are in line with the center of the screen. The higher you put it, the more likely you will be to put additional strain on your neck and eyes. (By having to look up, all the time.)

3. Wiring for a television over a fireplace can be very difficult/time consuming/expensive, because typically, the fireplace itself is surrounded by brick, and then a mortered wall. Wiring this is probably best left to the pro's.

bought a "Silo" brand t.v. cannot use cable's remote to turn on?

I can't really tell if that is officially a question or not.

The cable's remote should have codes for "most" TV's. If yours is not included in the list, you can do one of two things. 1. If the TV is manufactured by another company and just has the Silo name on it, you may be able to use the codes for the brand it was manufactured by. OR 2. You could try every code in the book, until you find one that works.

Bluray DVD to connect to Netflix.

I bought an Insignia Bluray DVD WIFI to connect to Netflix. Can I receive Closed Caption?
Without the model number of the player, I would be unable to find that out for you. Information on that will be in the owners manual. If you do not have an owners manual, I suppose you could re-post the question and perhaps someone (like myself) would be happy to look it up for you,

OR

You could go to the website and find the owners manual yourself and look it up...

how can I get rid of rental DVRs/monthly fees? TiVo?

Looking to say goodbye to cable fees. Would like a DVR, but not the monthly expense of renting from the cable company. Google TV requires DISH to have DVR capabilities--so that's just swapping bills. Are there options to buying TiVo (other brands, receivers, etc.)? And..do these interface with HD, or is another piece of equipment necessary?
With exception to "Over The Air" television, you'll still have to pay for cable/satellite or comparible service to use a DVR. Without service, certain TIVO devices do have the ability to record "Over The Air."

do you have a layway plan

As far as I am aware, Best Buy does NOT do lay-away. (I haven't checked in a good long time, but I used to work there, and they did not offer anything of the sort..)

Cable Box location

What is needed to locate Comcast HD cable box in another room ? RF device AND specific remote ??
Thanks,
Mike
Normally, if you are using a cable box that has multi-tv out, it only supports HD in the room the device is in. This is because you cannot use HDMI cables for long lengths without signal degradation. Any secondary TV support would be in SD (Standard Definition.)

I am not aware of ANY devices that will do HD video transfer over RF.

do we carry multi region lcd tv?

You would need to specify a manufacturer and model for the TV you are interested in, in order for anyone to look up the specific models specifications and find out what regions it supports..

Does your TV works in Ghana?

We will like to know whether the LCD TV will work in Ghana. Ghana uses DVB-T.
This question would need to be more specific. Whoever was going to answer this would need to know the manufacturer and model of the TV so that we could look up the specifications of the specific model you are interested it, to see if it supports DVB-T...

Or, you could look it up by going to the manufacturers website and looking at the owners manual for the television you are interested in..

where did the info on the new sharp lc40le810un go? was still there last night!

It's likely that if it is a new model, they were unable to secure stock, and removed it from their site until they do. (Because it typically annoys customers when they try to purchase something online and it takes weeks to receive...)
