Great with an Aluratek Internet Radio
on November 6, 2010

Bought the speakers to use with an Aluratek AIRMM01F Wireless Internet Radio. They are a perfect match. Most Internet broadcasts are CD quality and the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker System makes the most of those high quality tunes. No extra connection cables were needed. The supplied headset plug functions perfectly with the radio. FYI, set the speaker volumes to "minimum" before turning on a connected Aluratek radio, then adjust the speaker volumes to your preference after turning on the radio. I found setting the radio volume to "10" and the speakers' volume controls to an 1/8 - 1/4 turn past minimum is perfect.
What's great about it: Outstanding sound quality
What's not so great: A jumble of connecting wires look cluttered
I would recommend this to a friend!

Enjoyable Trip to Wonderland
on June 21, 2010

The making of special features were outstanding. Quite interesting how real life actors and sets are seamlessly combined with CGI. Great surround sound and imagery were effective at transporting me into the fantasy. The only few brief detractors were panoramic scenes where the conversion from the 3D screen to 2D screen created a slight distortion.
What's great about it: Excellent imagery, soundtrack and special features
What's not so great: 3D to 2D conversion caused minor distortion to panoramas
I would recommend this to a friend!

Realistic experience of a post-apocalyptic journey
on June 17, 2010

Special features strongly impact my feelings about DVDs and Blu-ray disks. The making of featurettes about the Book of Eli were outstanding. The pre-story video about the villain's childhood was a nice touch. I found the movie soundtrack, played through my good ole 5.1 surround sound setup was perfect, as though I was there for every scene. My only negative comment was about the plot. The ending was a disappointment to me. However, the cinematography was fantastic, featuring realistic images of a post-apocalyptic landscape.
What's great about it: Outstanding special features and cinematography
What's not so great: Story ending was a fizzle

Great DVD deal

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD. The portrayal of the whimsical tale was spot on and very entertaining. The musical score was annoying to me, though.
What's great about it: Outstanding DVD extras featuring cast, book author, production crew, etc.
What's not so great: Musical score was annoying to me.

The third of George Miller's Mad Max films, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English, French, and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include production notes and theatrical trailers. This release from Warner Bros. does a superb job of presenting the film, though surely the series' devoted fans would want more bonus features.

Good DVD for $10.99
on April 23, 2010

When the movie was about to be released in 1985, I recall a televised "making of" featurette, which included on site interviews with Tina Turner, Mel Gibson, Kennedy Miller, etc. If that feature had been on the DVD I'd have rated it 5 stars. The film used to make the DVD seemed worn with spots and scratches. Guess I may have become spoiled with today's use of ultra realistic looking CGI post apocalyptic city scenes, because the ruins of Sydney really looked like an elementary school student's model project. However, for $10.99 it was a good buy.
What's great about it: Cool story and characters
What's not so great: Lacked "making of" featurette, the film used was worn, toy-like devastated Sydney scene

Excellent HD video and 5.1 Surround Sound
on October 29, 2009

The high definition video and 5.1 surround sound were excellent. The extended cut scenes added worthwhile details to the story. Great Blu-ray deal for $9.99 sale price. I rate Stargate 5 stars for engaging Sci-Fi entertainment. The DVD extras should have included the contents of the film's pre-release CD, which I still have, however, the CD will not work on a PC with a current OS. The DVD extras producer and director commentaries were interesting.
What's great about it: Excellent high definition, 5.1 surround sound and added extended cut scenes
What's not so great: Skimpy DVD extras
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great daylight video, poor night video
By Bill2009 from Clovis, CA
Daylight images are sharp and clear with lifelike color. DVR playback is smooth and continuous for a selected time period. However, nighttime video is poor. Two cameras' afterdark videos are out of focus, blurry, regardless of ambient light arrangements. Three cameras have what appear to be dust particles that cannot be wiped off the surface of their lenses, but are only visible after dark. The system is excellent for daylight applications, but unsatisfactory for after dark use. Exchanged and replaced the system, but the replacement has the same problems. Lorex tech support tried, but could not provide a fix. Thinking of returning this system for a refund.

Item returned and replaced with Defender WHD1T4B4
July 25, 2017
As a replacement, purchased Defender Wireless HD 1080p (WHD1T4B4), which is very similar, but functions flawlessly, day and night. DVRs for both systems are very similar and intuitive to use. Fortunately, Defender cameras provide excellent video in both daylight and after dark.

in bluetooth mode will this unit speak through car radio? if so will it interfere with my phone bluetooth?

Using Bluetooth, it was not compatible with my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Uconnect 8.4A media center, so it could not speak through my car's sound system.
