Great Film!

I might be one of the few that actually liked this film, I thought it was pretty smart, yes the plot might've been lacking a bit, but overall I think it accomplished what it was set out to do. For all those that expected it to answer a lot of the questions in regards to the Xeno's, there's still plenty of story left to tell, overall I think this film personally told the tale it needed to tell in the best way it could tell it. I recommend it, but go in with an open mind.

Great Sequel, Action Packed!
on December 18, 2014

If you're searching for a high speed, low drag super action thriller, search no more because "Aliens" is the film you're looking for! Even if you've not seen the first movie, "Alien" you'll still be able to enjoy this film to the fullest. That was of course by the design of the producers and this films superb director, James Cameron. Few sequels ever out do or exceed the accomplishments of their predecessors but "Aliens" can certainly be counted among those select few! With an exceptional script and an extremely talented cast, James Cameron crafted one of the best films to have ever graced the silver screen and the home theater screen.

E.T. With a Twist!

Alien" is one of the most intense Sci-Fi thrillers to have ever graced the silver screen or the home theater in any format! It is the film's intensity that provides such an incredible draw to this extraordinary film. If you're looking for a lot of action, this film is not really what you're looking for; "Aliens" is where the intensity and action comes into play in the line of Alien movies; the whole theme behind "Alien" is to scare to pants off of you with extremely intense scenes and if you've never seen this movie before, it may very well do just that! Never before in the history of this genre had there been a film of this magnitude and few have matched it in it's intensity since.
Now, with this latest release, fans of "Alien" are treated to the best release of this film yet. The very first thing you'll notice when you put this DVD into your player is that you have the option of playing either the 1979 Theatrical Release or a 2003 Director's Cut. The 2003 Director's Cut is preceded by an interesting introduction by Ridley Scott himself. This cut is put together seamlessly and the additions to the film add just that much more flavor to the film,

The third and final film in the Wachowski brothers' epic science fiction trilogy The Matrix picks up where the second film, The Matrix Reloaded, left off. As the film begins, Neo attempts to navigate through a space somewhere between the machine world and the real world, Trinity and Morpheus pay a visit to The Merovingian, the citizens of Zion prepare for imminent war with the sentinels, and Agent Smith continues to gain power. As Matrix fans have come to expect, the closing chapter is presented in a superb DVD package. The two-disc set features top-notch visual and audio quality alongside a seemingly endless wealth of bonuses. The first disc bears a full-screen transfer of the feature presentation with the soundtrack available in both Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and Dolby Digital Stereo. A French-dubbed Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track is also included, along with subtitles in English, French, and Spanish. Standing out from the Matrix DVDs that preceded it, disc one of Revolutions is the first to feature trailers from all three trilogy entries and The Animatrix animation series. Over on the second disc, viewers are treated to several behind-the-scenes featurettes. "Revolutions Recalibrated" takes a general look at the making of the film, while "CG Revolution" specifically examines the dazzling visual effects, and "Super Burly Brawl" offers the ins and outs of the climactic final fight between Neo and Agent Smith. Meanwhile, there are four more short making-of segments in the Operator feature. Beyond that, there is an exceptionally concise text-and image-based history of the Matrix called "Before the Revolution," a look at the upcoming online Matrix game, a gallery with storyboards and conceptual images, and several DVD-ROM features. A widescreen version with the same features was also released.

Not the Greatest Ending, but It'll Suffice!
on December 17, 2014

The plot is difficult to detail without spoilers since many of the most shocking revelations come at the beginning, before the high-stakes battle scenes begin. Let it suffice to say that Neo has become something more than we thought, and as a result, he is much more of a threat to the nefarious virus Agent Smith. When the Oracle indicates (or does she?) that Neo is Zion's only hope, he and Trinity break off from the others who are hunkering down for an all-out assault of Zion. This is the strongest indicator that the third of the trilogy has stepped away from philosophical sci-fi and into pure action, as Neo and Trinity disappear from the screen for long stretches. Their onscreen time is limited, as is their plot; this will disappoint many diehard fans. Still, the action sequences are breathless (although eventually overdone) and the special effects are first-rate. The resolution of the trilogy is both surprising and inevitable, the hallmark of a well-prepared story. If you've been paying attention, it will make complete sense.

Great Sequel, Very Underrated!
on December 17, 2014

I personally think that this is the sequel that stumps all sequels, packing a whallop and never letting you go. But this is one movie that fits each person differently. If you await the same "Bullet Time"-style action in the first one, you will be far from disappointed. If you lust for the intensely mind-warping science-fiction, there's even more in store for you. But there are people who think it's too chitty-chatty, too strenuous on their fragile, little attention spans, or too much of an effort for the Whachowskis to make a few extra bucks. Everyone will see at least one miniscule flaw, but other than that, "The Matrix Reloaded" is the biggest innovation in sci-fi action sequels since "T2".

Enter The Matrix!!!
on December 17, 2014
Posted by: Quicksilver00
In a world of the future, things are literally not what they seem, where it's Man versus Machine, Reality versus Fantasy, and few who know the truth; among those who do, is Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who has long awaited the arrival of "The One," who it has been prophesied will be the salvation of the world. Enter Neo (Keanu Reeves), a computer programmer with an innate sense of discrepancy as to the state of things around him; he has questions, most of which are still in the process of being formulated in his own mind. (What is the Matrix). Morpheus has answers. And when they meet, it's Alice down the rabbit hole, and Neo's life is changed forever. Reeves is perfectly cast as Neo, the enigmatic young man who may or may not be "The One," and it's one of the best roles of his career. He conveys a sense of removed, distracted urgency that defines his character, infusing him with both a strength and vulnerability that coalesces as the story progresses into determination and confidence. The underplayed, subtle character development (largely unacknowledged and under appreciated) is a nice piece of work by Reeves. As Morpheus, Fishburne is dynamic; he endows him with a quiet intensity that fairly roils beneath the surface, effectively restrained while leaving no doubt as to the character's power and purpose. You understand his resolution completely by his countenance alone; by the way he speaks and carries himself. It's a memorable performance by one of the truly gifted actors of our times. (What is the Matrix). Other notable performances include those by Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith), who brings a formidable, white-collar sinisterness to his character that is chilling; Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity), a strong, vital presence throughout the film; and Joe Pantoliano (Cypher), who is entirely convincing in his role of a Cyber-age Judas. Rounding out the terrific supporting cast are Gloria Foster (Oracle), Marcus Chong (Tank), Julian Arahanga (Apoc), Matt Doran (Mouse), Belinda McClory (Switch) and Ray Anthony Parker (Dozer). A visually stunning, thought provoking, captivating film, "The matrix" is a triumph of movie-making that assures the Wachowski's a permanent place in cinematic history. The special effects are cutting-edge, state-of-the-art; the choreography of the action sequences is top rate and delivered with a style and effectiveness worthy of comparison to John Woo's best; and, most importantly, the story itself is complex, intelligent, and deftly takes you into regions beyond the known. This is Science Fiction at it's best, but beyond that, it's a great movie that transcends genre or category; a landmark film that must be experienced more than once, for new meaning is gleaned with every viewing. Enhanced by a driving soundtrack that completes the package, highlighted by incredible action, outstanding performances and memorable scenes to numerous to mention, this is a movie that absolutely must not be missed.

Excellent Way to Close the Series, Happy Ending!
on December 17, 2014

Frank Martin (Jason Statham) is back and this time he is forced to transport Valentina (Natalya Rudakova), an objectionable young woman, across Europe by a group of villains who have fitted Frank and Valentina with explosive bracelets. If either of them move more than 75 feet away from Frank's car, their bracelet will explode.
Given all of the other reviews that I have read of "The Transporter 3", I went in to this film expecting to be disappointed and was pleasantly surprised when I wasn't. Although the script is not quite as good as Luc Besson's previous film, "Taken", this is more than made up for by the awesome stunts and martial arts sequences (choreographed by Cory Yuen, who was responsible for the action sequences in the previous two films). Two action sequences in particular, one involving Statham effectively performing a striptease while fighting half a dozen villains, and the grand finale on the train, are alone worth the price of admission.
One of the main criticisms that had been leveled at this film is that the heroine is distractingly ugly and annoying. Although Rudakova and Statham seem to have absolutely no chemistry between them at all and I did wonder why Frank Martin was even remotely interested in Valentina, she wasn't so annoying as to ruin the film for me. Valentina is meant to be objectionable, and keeping that in mind, I actually thought Rudakova did a good job of playing her. As for her looks, I didn't think she was bad looking, just different, and I actually thought it was nice to see someone who didn't look the same as every other Hollywood heroine.
As for Jason Statham, I am still not certain as to whether he can act or not, but who really cares. Statham became famous because of his personality and his martial arts skills and both are again on display.

Excellent Follow-Up to The Original!

In this sequel to The Transporter Jason Stratham is in Miami working as a chauffer/bodyguard for a wealthy family who springs into action when the young son of his client is kidnapped. The movie is full of high action car chases and stunts. Set in the beautiful Miami, Florida area, so again if you don't enjoy high action movies, just sit back and enjoy the view.
Highly recommended for fans of Jason Statham , James Bond movies, and high action movies, especially car chases.

An Intense Thrill Ride!
on December 17, 2014

Transporter is a high action movies involving an ex-Special forces soldier who earns his living transporting "packages" for various clients, mostly shady. In this movie, the transporter ( Jason Stratham )violates his own rules ( he's real big on rules ) and looks inside the package, doesn't like what he sees and doesn't complete the delivery. Bad idea, now the client is after him, along with the police. The movie is set in the French countryside so if you don't enjoy the thrill-a-minute action, just enjoy the view.
Highly recommended for fans of Jason Stratham , James Bond movies, and high action movies, especially car chases.

Thrilling, Intense, Edge of Your Seat! Must Watch!

World War Z is Brad Pitt's zombie epic about the spread of a virus that turns people into the undead, but instead of walking they sprint and create chaos with every step. Pitt plays Gerry Lane, a former UN investigator who is called into action by an old friend when the human race is on the brink of extinction. While he risks his life to look for a cure, his family (with his wife Karin played by the incredible Mireille Enos) is on a US Navy Carrier out at sea. Nations fall, people turn on each other, and it seems all is lost. But, this is not the case as Gerry begins piecing together clues and starts a search that will change everything, leading to the "war."
WWZ is a truly impressive movie, especially considering it's a PG-13 zombie movie. While I do like the gore in a zombie film, this movie proved you don't need it. The zombies were frightening, the realistic science was there, warfare is taken into account, and overall it just felt like what would really happen if the zombie apocalypse happened. Marc Forster's directing was superb, showcasing both the epic scale of a global panic and war, while showing us the smaller battles and struggles that are happening everywhere else. This movie has the perfect transition, going from the massive blockbuster to a classic zombie movie setting. When it comes to acting, it was great. There were only two moments where the dialogue didn't quite match (when Gerry talks to Warmbrunn about the wall in Jerusalem), and even though there won't be any Awards the acting was still great. The visuals were happily polished, being more realistic, especially having both CG and practical zombies, with amazing make-up. You can see my review of the musical score on the soundtrack's page (by Marco Beltrami). But then there is the cinematography. Words cannot describe how impressive it was to see all the locations and sites, especially Jerusalem. Plus, this is only the start. WWZ kick-starts what should and can be a trilogy, just showing us the outbreak, spread and beginning struggles with the undead. There is so much more to come. World War Z is not for everyone, but anyone who appreciates well-made action movies, a thrilling epic, or some good freak-out moments, this is your treat.
