This is an OVA movie to the anime series Death Note. It summarizes the entire series but from the point of view of Ryuk, Kira's Shinigami. It's a wonderful idea for a movie since he is mostly on the sidelines through the show with nothing but a witty line, evil smile, and menacing laugh that tells you he had it all planned from the beginning. Like others have said, this series and by extention OVA rewrote anime to most people. It isn't immature or shallow. It is incredibly intelligent, complex, and thrilling. If you own or just love Death Note, this is a no-brainer.

Death Note from a different view.... again.

This is an OVA movie to the anime series Death Note. It summarizes the entire series but from the point of view of L's, the main antagonist or protagonist depending on who's side you're on, successors. They took over the investigation after his death by Kira. It's a unique take on a now classic show that is a must have for any fan of this genre. It is incredibly intelligent and complex that keeps you glued to the couch as you watch. If you own or just love Death Note, this is a no-brainer.

I caught this show in the middle of the fourth season after it became syndicated on TBS. I never really give sitcoms a chance. They're usually filled with bad jokes, horrible acting, and tacky story lines. But this show surprised me. It is still more or less a typical sitcom but the acting is excellent (Jim Parsons has won many Emmys for his role of Sheldon) and the jokes speak to me personally being an uber-nerd as I am. Most people who have never watched Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, etc. won't get a majority of them and I love that. If you find a true fan of this show then you know you've found a closet nerd as well. Enjoy.
