Really a 2 and a half.
Got this tv for $799 on Black Friday because I wanted to upgrade from my 9 year old 50 inch 720p plasma. So that is what I'm comparing it to. First off, if you calibrate it correctly it has an impressive picture. Bright whites (so much it almost hurts the eyes if you're not used to it) and deep blacks (as deep as my old plasma to my eye) and the colors are incredible. It's the Trumotion and refresh rate that disappointed me. At first, I didn't believe it was truly 120Hz until I contacted LG and they confirmed it. If this is what 120 refresh rate and 480 MCI gets you then my old plasma beats it hands down. The motion blur is horrible. When someone moves even a hand the image blurs and looks like garbage. And when the camera moves with the people it looks like an episode of COPS. Bouncing so much it distracts you. I'm one of the few who like the "soap opera effect" but this is terrible. So I turned off the Trumotion to go back to 60Hz and movements and action became smooth again but lost a considerable amount of definition and sharpness to the picture. So upgrading for picture quality is out the window. As for sound, my old plasma had two front facing 7w speakers and this tv has two downward facing 10w speakers. My old tv's sound needed no tweaking and sounded great out of the box. This one's sounds muffled in comparison but that's expected since I didn't mount it. It has louder, crisper sound and deeper bass than my old tv but only in Music mode. All others sound unbalanced. I still wish manufacturers would bring back forward facing speakers. I want decent sound without having to buy a separate sound bar. But for what it is it's adequate.
Extra bits:
It does have 3 HDMI ports instead of two.
And no it's not a smart tv. But as with all smart tv's you're better off buying a Roku and not even using the manufacturers apps. Trust me it's so much better.
All in all, you get what you pay for. $799 for a name brand 65 inch tv is a decent deal. But don't expect the best. I still find it hard to believe this is 120Hz.
I do suggest getting a plasma before they're gone. LG and Samsung make them for under $1000. I think that's what I'll do if I get up the energy to haul this behemoth in.
This three disc set from the quirky series Warehouse 13 includes all 12 episodes from the show's first season, following the employees of the titular top secret storage facility, where artifacts from every fantastic and other worldly occurrence in the US is kept secret from the population at large.
The best episodes of Buffy and Angel were written by Joss Whedon. The worst episodes were written by Jane Espenson. She created this show. This show revolves around two Secret Service agents who stumble upon a supernatural artifact while protecting The President. They handle the situation so well that they are recruited to deal with them as a job. I love the premise and the actors are wonderful but the writing in this show is horrible. It takes Jane Espenson's style, which is her bad and lesser interpretation of Joss Whedon's style and makes an entire show of bad jokes and dialogue of 15 year old's. The storyline is rather one dimensional where if you miss four or five episodes in the season who haven't really missed anything important to the story itself. It's one redeeming quality is that once you start watching it you do finish the episode. It does entertain you for the 45 minutes you are sitting there. This is a show most will say is pretty good but I doubt anyone will call brilliant. Not terrible but not amazing.
This set contains the final thirteen episodes of the sci-fi series Fringe, a run of shows set in 2036 when The Observers have taken control of the planet.
This is the final season of Fringe. Gone is the storyline of the parallel worlds that probably got this show canceled. This is a wrapup to The Observers story. It takes place in the future with the team waking up from amber by Olivia and Peter's daughter to a world ruled by The Observers, future humans who polluted their world and own people with science to an extent that they go back to find a new home in the past. This season was one of the best with an epic finale that finishes the story perfectly. Must see!
This set serves up every episode from the sophomore season of the CBS sci-fi/drama series Person of Interest about a squad of people who attempt to stop crimes before they happen.
The first season was good but the second season was great. This season starts after the audience's realization that The Machine isn't just a computer program but a sentient being. Last season was more of series of missions to help others with this season mixes more of the story of The Machine itself and why Finch created it to think and feel as well as the governments hold on it. We are introduced to two new characters, Root and Shaw. Root is a brilliant hacker, as brilliant as Finch, but with a twist. She's a complete psychopath. Her objective is to free The Machine and worship it as her god. And she will kill anyone who gets in her way. Shaw is another CIA assassin like Reese who is betrayed by her agency when she asks too many questions about her assignments and too close to their secrets. She is inherently good like Reese but a sociopath; lacking any feeling or empathy. The writing is great this year with a more complicated story line than last. There is still plenty of action but with a few more twits and turns. If you are a fan of Burn Notice give this a try. It's a darker show but better written. Enjoy.

Person of Interest: The Complete First Season [6 Discs] [Blu-ray]
This release contains every episode from the debut season of Hell On Wheels, a drama centering on a one-time Confederate soldier seeking revenge against the Union military figures responsible for killing his wife.
Anson Mount plays Cullen Bohanon, a former Confederate soldier who is hunting down the Union regiment who killed his wife and son. On the last leg of his revenge, he finds himself employed for the same railroad as one of his suspects. But the honest labor and relationships begin to take their toll on his plan for justice. A good man must decide whether to rectify the past or help serve the future. Great show. Expect nothing else from AMC.
The fifth season of Dexter finds our serial-killer hero (Michael C. Hall) dealing with the death of his significant other, and striking up a complicated new relationship with an unusual woman (Julia Stiles).
Dexter hunts down a band of serial rapists/killers whose leader may be too high profile to kill. Is he out of reach for Dexter? He discovers and rescues one of their surviving victims (Julia Stiles) who then begs him to train her so she can get revenge for her and the other not so lucky girls. She wants justice, too. Can he refuse? This is a good season that's made better by Jonny Lee Miller ( Elementary) as the evil and too famous Jordan Chase.
Dexter (Michael C. Hall) struggles to balance his desire to kill with his new duties as a family man and father in the fourth season of Showtime's hit series. Meanwhile, he becomes increasingly fascinated with a new serial killer in town (John Lithgow) known as "Trinity", in hopes of coming to a better understanding of his own deadly issues.
My personal favorite season. Dexter must hunt down Trinity, a serial killer who works in threes and has eluded capture for decades. When Dexter finally finds him he discovers something unusual. Trinity has a picturesque family and well-rounded life. Is this real? Can Dexter have this, too? Maybe he can actually learn something from this man before his last breath on Dexter's table. Maybe not. Wonderful season. John Lithgow is brilliant. Dick Solomon killing people. Enjoy!

What's great about it: John Lithgow as a serial killer. Enough said.
This seasons follows Dexter as he hunts The Skinner, a killer who skins his victims alive. But he gets help from Assistant D.A. who discovers his secret (Sort of). He helps to train his new friend in this ways of The Code and finds that his unique sense of justice is up to interpretation. Dexter must hunt down a monster but did he just make one of his own? Very entertaining and thrilling. Buy this season and all the rest.
This season is my personal second favorite to the fifth. It follows our antihero Dexter Morgan, the serial killer of serial killers, in a cat and mouse game where he's the mouse. The police have discovered dozens of bodies in the bay of Miami dismembered and thrown away. All of these "victims" however were known or suspected killers. The police and media dub this new vigilante serial killer The Bay Harbor Butcher. Dexter has no main serial killer to track this season because he is the main serial killer. This is the one season that takes a completely different path than the others. Something rarely done in TV and it makes for a wonderful change. Buy this season and all the rest, You will not regret it.
This release from the popular British science-fiction series Doctor Who includes all 14 episodes from the show's sixth season, following the titular, Eleventh Doctor (played by Matt Smith) as he and his companion (Karen Gillan) use the infamous Tardis to travel through time and space, often stopping aliens, evil, and general chaos from destroying the Earth.
To those who don't know, Doctor Who is a British Science Fiction series that has become one the world's most popular shows. It is one of the longest running if not the longest running scifi shows of all time. From the early 60s to late 80s and the continuation from 2005 to present. I can not stress enough that even if you are not a scifi genre fan please give this show a chance. It is just enough like the old series for the keep old fans in bliss and different from the old series to make a newer generation die-hard fans. It mixes sometimes goofy (depending on which Doctor) humor, substantial action, and intelligent story to make a truly entertaining series. Few shows can put people in awe. This show put the entire world in awe.
