Nowhere near what it could have been

A Texas Chainsaw film in 3D that picks up where the original left off should be a pretty fun ride for any horror fan, but unfortunately this one fails miserably. The film has no real focus and tends to meander. It also fails to deliver any truly scary moments. The actors are so bad that you care very little about the characters. Trey Songz in particular (not surprisingly) contributes nothing. This could have been a really cool movie, but the filmmakers seemed to lack any creativity or ambition.

There's nothing I can say about SLP that hasn't been said before, but the film lives up to the hype! David O. Russell tackles the issue of mental illness with grace. The film has the best ensemble of the year, featuring great performances from Cooper, Lawrence, De Niro, Weaver, and Tucker. You will feel for the characters when they struggle and be filled with joy when they triumph. It's a gem of a film which should be in every collector's library.

Every episode in season seven will stress the hardcore Dexter fan out! This is because Dexter has never been closer to getting caught than he has been throughout this season. The acting is the best on television with Jennifer Carpenter being the standout this season. The finale is truly shocking and a great lead-in to the final season.

Movie fans have been waiting a long time for Badlands to get a decent DVD release and this Criterion collection does not disappoint. Malick's films are known for their gorgeous cinematography and this one is no exception. This Blu-ray collection is pretty much flawless and captures the lush landscapes these lovers-on-the-run come across. If you're a fan of True Romance, buy this film and it will blow you away.
