The sixth season of Burn Notice follows Michael Westen as he travels the streets of Miami in pursuit of an enemy from his past: Anson Fullerton. In addition, Michael must free Fiona from prison - even if it means taking on the Mob.

Same type of plots, just more tedious
on June 16, 2013

I think this was the worst season for the Burn Notice series. The complexity of each episode gradually became more unbelievable than the last, even for super-spy Michael. For example, it was amazing how fast the characters recovered from cracked ribs, burns, split lips, black eyes, etc., and even when they lose everything, by the beginning of the next episode they manage to come into possession of a whole arsenal of automatic weapons and explosives again. Also, this season the CIA has morphed into an agency that has the authority to arrest people and commandeer local police departments, sort of like a super-FBI that acts like the KGB. The ending of the series was particularily disappointing since it was more non-sensical rather than tragic or happy. I guess the writers were either unable to conceive of a way to bring the story to a logical conclusion, or else, they were angling to set up an ending that might be the starting point for a movie.
Regardless of my dissatisfaction with season 6, I recommend Burn Notice aficionados to watch it so they can have closure on the series...such as it is.
What's great about it: The usual interesting narrative
What's not so great: Episodes became more tedious and unbelievable

Incredibly Depressing

I don't think I have ever seen a more depressing movie. The protoganist (Viggo Mortensen) is solely concerned with protecting his son, and doesn't do a thing to help any of the numerous other people he finds in danger. It's also frustrating because the cause of the worldwide disaster is never mentioned. It's been about two years since I watched this movie and I'm still disturbed by its barbarity and fatalistic imagery. I wish I had never watched it.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Worldwide catastrophe not even marginally explained

This release contains the final thirteen episodes of NBC's multiple Emmy-winning sitcom 30 Rock, starring Tina Fey as the head writer of a sketch comedy show who must oversee crazy actors and a headstrong boss while contending with an often troubled love life.

Very good comedic writing. Some stereotypical NYC characters are more irritating than funny.

I bought the complete four series package and it was priced very reasonably for the value. I really enjoyed the continuity of being able to watch all the episodes without an interruption between series.

Recaptures some of the fun from earlier seasons

Big improvement over season 9. Some very humorous interaction between Frasier and Lilith characters, plus they have a lot more scenes. Otherwise, the usual antics of the gang at Cheers.
What's great about it: Faiser and Lilith characters given more scenes
What's not so great: Sometimes too much slapstick and not enough comedy

Not the best season for "Cheers"
on March 23, 2013

The "Cheers" storyline is startilng to become tedious in this season. It's just not as funny as the previous seasons, plus some of the episodes are too predictable and ridiculous. After watching the final episode, I think the cast were as happy as I was that the season had finally ended.
What's great about it: Same cast.
What's not so great: Some of the plots were predictable and tiresome.

Great movie!

I'm a big fan of the Battlestar Galactica storyline and it was a big surprise to see this movie on the store shelf. It has first-rate special effects that surpasses the television series and the acting was just as good. The plot was captivating and mysterious, and the ending was totally unexpected. I'm so glad I found this movie and I hope they produce more to fill-out the storyline between the first and second wars with the Cylons.
What's great about it: Excellent special effects, fills-in background on first war with Cylons.
What's not so great: It came to an end. It should be a movie series.

Does great job of building up insight into character of young protoganists. Heroic debut of the "Master Chief." Exemplifies importance of standing-up to great evil!
What's great about it: Showcases personal sacrifice and courage under adversity
What's not so great: Not getting to see it in a theator

Great continuation of the Starship Troopers genre

I enjoyed the plot development of the war with the "bugs." It was very nice to see the original main characters have survived, and that they're now seasoned veterans. I thought the virtual nudity detracted from the story and I would have preferred that it had not been necessary for me to be on my guard to fast forward through it.
What's great about it: Great plot and pretty good twists in the story
What's not so great: The virtual nudity and lasciviousness was unnecessary

Andy gets more than he expected when he takes over as manager of Dunder Mifflin in the eighth season of the Primetime Emmy® Award-winning series The Office. As he struggles to win the respect of his employees, he must also face the machinations of new CEO Robert California (James Spader), while Dwight is busy making his own power play in Florida. Jim and Pam find their relationship tested when Pam goes on maternity leave, and Erin continues to harbor feelings for Andy. Elsewhere, Darryl looks for love, and Angela's relationship with the Senator grows more serious.

Still funny, but not real funny

I'm glad I bought season 8, but in some of the first episodes the cast seem a little unsure of themselves without Steve Carrell. However, they hit their stride again at about episode 4.
What's great about it: Dwight is still in his outrageously superb form
What's not so great: Andy seems to be emulating Michael at times
