Nice little speaker

This Insignia Google Assistant speaker really surprised me. I wasn't expecting much out of it but, the sound quality is actually pretty good. Don't expect Hi-Fi quality sound but, for a low cost speaker I really think they did well, I would definitely put it on par with the rest of the other Google Assistant speakers out there in the same price range.
The Google Assistant features work just like they do on any other Google Assistant speaker. If you are familiar at all with that you'll be able to pick this right up. If you haven't used Google Assistant before, it's easy to use and extremely useful.
The Bluetooth also works well, just like any other Bluetooth speaker, if you'd rather pass music from your phone rather than casting using Chromecast.
What I really think differentiates this speaker is the little things that make it perfect for a bedside table. The built-in clock is bright and easy to read. It's compact enough to stay out of the way, and there's also even a USB port for charging your phone! It may not be much but, not having to reach behind the bed to unplug my charger is awesome.
Overall great product, if you're in the market for one of these kinds of speakers, I think this is a great option.

The Philips Hue White Ambiance is the first smart light bulb I've ever owned or used. For the most part I've been very impressed with the functionality of this bulb and the features that Philips has packed into these bulbs. I've always thought the idea of being able to control my light via Google Home or my Smartphone was really cool but, never really thought I'd need or really use all of the colors that come with the traditional Hue bulb. And on top of that the price tag has always deterred me from purchasing. While these bulbs are still on the more expensive side, as far as light bulbs go, I think they really offer so cool features for the price.
My Smartphone: I currently use the Samsung Smart things as my smart home hub and control most everything through voice with my Google home. I wanted something that could interact with both of these to be able to use voice control and run routines that I have set with Smart Things. The Philips hue works very well with both of these products. My biggest complaint is the need for a second Philips hue hub on top of my Smart Things hub. I understand that Philips offers a lot of functionality with their hub but, I feel like being able to use these bulbs without a second hub could be done and would reduce the amount of clutter and boxes I have in my cabinet.
Setup: setup was fairly straightforward, a few taps and I was ready to go. Connecting to my Smart Things hub and Google Home was no more difficult that a few clicks. Overall the setup process was painless.
Using the bulbs: I was extremely surprised at all of the different colors and scenes that the hue app offers. I had expected to be able to set the bulbs to a few colors (soft white, bright white, daylight, etc.) However the hue app let's you fine tune the color to any color temperature in between. I think this is really cool and not really sure why you would need any additional colors.
Few complaints: My biggest complaint is what happens when the light switch gets turned off. I know there really isn't a good solution to this and is more inherent in smart bulbs as a whole but, when the lights get turned off the colors don't come back to the last settings and instead revert to a default set color. What is really annoying is that it seems that two of my older hue bulbs default to a different color. Since all four bulbs are in the same fan, when the switch gets flipped I'm left with different color bulbs in my fan. My next complaint is the when the bulbs just don't work. Granted this happens very infrequently but, I will have an occasion where bulbs will start changing different colors and nothing matches up. It usually resolves itself if I just change the color of the bulb but, still somewhat irritating.
Overall I think this is a great product. If you've ever thought having different color temperature light bulbs at different times would be useful, I think these are the way to go.

Low Impact Virus Software

This software has worked very well. Installed on my Yoga 720 and never noticed it again. This is exactly what you want in virus protection software.
This product was a breeze to install and get running on my machine. No weird hiccups or reinstalls. I just went through the process and o was ready to go.
I never noticed any real system slow downs after installing. It didn't seem to hog resources, even when performing it's scans.
Everyone really needs good virus protection, especially when using the web and I think Bitdefender does a good job keeping me safe and doesn't boy down the system like other products tend to do.

I've used the Arlo Pro 1 for about a year now and was very excited when the new version came out with 1080p video and I can say the Arlo Pro 2 is definitely an improvement over the already great Arlo Pro 1.
The video itself looks great. The cameras support 1080p video that looks considerably better than the 720p feed from the previous version. There cameras still feature a great wide angle lens and night vision that make for great video quality and coverage say and night.
The cameras also include a few new tricks like continuous monitoring if they are plugged in. This makes it so that you can get the free seconds before a trigger actually occurs. This is a really cool feature that could definitely come in handy.
The base station itself still features what I believe is all the same features as last model. The Siren is load and will for sure scare someone off.
The Arlo and works great, it is easy to use to check live feed and supports many features like schedules, Geo fencing, and even features Smart Things integration. With the free version you can save up to 7 days of video. Which from my understanding, is more than most competitors. There is also a paid subscription that allows you to record up to 30 days of video.
The one draw back to the cameras is the number you can have on one system, 5. If you need more for a larger house you would need to pay an extra subscription cost. This hasn't been a problem for me sincerely 4 is plenty for my house.
Overall, I'd say these are the most full featured and easy to use smart cameras on the market. They definitely offer more on the free plan than any other competitor.

This PC blows every PC I've owned out of the water. The performance is outstanding. There's nothing I've thrown at this computer that it couldn't handle. I'm able to play every game I have on high settings. I've seen almost no hiccups at all.
AMD's Ryzen chips are absolutely stellar. The Ryzen 5 is supposed to be on part with an i5 but, to me I think it preforms way better.
One of the most impressive things about this machine is the boot time. The solid state drive makes this PC boot in seconds. Way faster than any machine I've ever had.
If you are looking for a solid gaming rig that doesn't cost $3000, this is the PC to get. The Ryzen chip is miles beyond anything AMD has ever made, the GPU will be able to handle anything you throw at it, and the solid state makes boot times and general use extremely fast. Would highly recommend.

Great WiFi Thermostat

I've been really pleased with how well this thermostat had worked. I'm coming from an old programmable thermostat so, having the ability to change the temperature from where ever I am is great.
Set up: it is fairly easy, just connect a few wires and the thermostat walls you through a pretty straight forward setup process. Nothin was overly difficult. I would recommend, if you're installing yourself, to figure out beforehand exactly what kind of heading and cooling system you have.
Functionality: the thermostat really does do a lot. You can do everything you need, change temp, set schedule, etc. Right on the thermostat or do the same thing from the app from anywhere. I've even connected mine too my smart things hub to automate the temp settings when I leave and run my routines. The Honeywell app could use some cosmetic updates but, it functions well and is very easy to navigate.
Overall a great product and a good edition to a smart home, especially if you have Smart Things.

Google Assistant with some power

The Sony Google Assistant sweaker is a powerful little speaker with all the functionality of Google Assistant.
The sound is great, it gets loud without distorting and has a very clean powerful sound. It will connect with any music service that supports Google home. But, know that there is no aux cord connection. This is a streaming first device.
The clock on the front works well. It's a little difficult to read from far away but, it's nice to have on a bedside table.
The controls are the biggest downside to this device. Sony has implemented various gesture controls to play, pause skip, and change volume instead of physical or touch buttons. It's a gimmicky idea that does not work well in practice. It takes way to much practice to figure out and is no where as easy as normal buttons. I've found myself using only the voice control for controls l. This works great most of the time, unless you have the volume turned up over about 60%. In this case the microphone can't hear my voice and I have to fight with the gesture controls.
Overall, very nice Google Assistant speaker with great sound. If you're in the market for a Google Assistant speaker, this should be a real consideration.

Worst Smart home product I've used

There's not much to recommend from this product. The overall experience and advertising of this product definitely puts this smart garage opener at the bottom of my list. The MyQ markets itself as a smart hub but other than garage doors and a plug in switch. If you're looking for a smart home hub, there are far better options for the same price or lower that also offer much more functionality.
Set up: in short, it was hard, confusing, and not well organized. You start the set up through the app and then are redirected to the internet, then there's a long confusing process to connect the hub to your phone through the wifi settings and input a serial number. I'm a person that is pretty good at figuring out technology and I had a hard time seeing this up. Almost no thought was put into the set up of this product and someone not as familiar with technology would have a very difficult time.
The app: it's ok, not much functionality other than opening and closing the door, setting alerts, and schedules which seem pretty useless for closing a garage door.
Comparability: this was the part that truly not recommend this product. The hub is marketed as compatible with wink, Xfinity home, Google Assistant, and IFTT, which would really make it pretty useful. There's one catch. To use Google Assistant or IFTT you have to pay a monthly subscription fee. The fee is not a lot but, for a product that costs $100, there is no reason integration with these two services should have a fee associated. The marketing in this pushing the integration but, then sneaks the subscription wording in at the end. It's misleading and poor marketing. If you want something to link your garage door to your smart home or want to be able to open your garage from your phone, there are much better options for the same or cheaper price.

Beautiful Laptoo

I can't say I've had a laptop that I like more than this one. It is incredibly light and works like a charm for what I use it for. I usually use laptops for browsing the web, spreadsheets, YouTube, and Netflix. So I can't really tell you how well it works for things like Photoshop or premiere. But, during my use it was smooth and handled whatever I threw at it.
Display: I got the 1080p version and the screen looks great. I'm very used to average looking laptop displays and this one is a huge step up. The colors look great, it's very bright, and very clear.
Tablet mode: I think windows has improved a lot with the way it handles convertible laptops. I get a notification every time a fold the laptop into tablet mode. Windows will then expand everything to work well with touch. The tablet works well but, there isn't a whole lot of touch apps that I could find. I could see this being very useful for taking hand written notes (laptop also comes with a very good pen). The hinge works great and hold the screen very firm. You get almost no wiggle when you press the screen when. It's not completely folded flat.
Pen: the pen works very well. It writes well and the response is great. It has three buttons. Two will do different things depending on the app. The other on top will open a dashboard with several writing apps (notepad, onenote, paint). Its a pretty cool shortcut that works well. The pen is powered by one aaa and two watch batteries. This is probably my biggest complaint as I'm not sure why they need multiple kinds of batteries. The pen also come with a holder that clips into the full-size usb port. I don't think this was thought out very well. It takes up the only full size is port and gets in the way of the power button.
Ports: don't buy this laptop if you want ports. It has three. One full-size usb port and two usb c, one of which is take by the power code when charging. I get that the laptop is super light and it's hard to get ports but, usb c still seems kinda useless until more accessories support it.
Overall: great portable laptop for light use and taking notes. Screen is great, pen works very well. But, usb c really holds the laptop back until more accessories come out.

Great headphones with a weird quirk.

Sound - these are definitely Bose quality sound. The music is crisp and clear and is on par with every other Bose headphones I've owned.
Battery- I haven't run into any issues with battery. They advertise 5 hours per charge and 10 hours in the case. I'd say that is accurate.
Fit - the fit is a little weird. While the truly worked for us really cool, I do feel like these are constantly going to fall out of my ear. Not to mention it does look like to bolts sticking out of your head. I haven't had them actually fall out yet but, they just don't feel as secure as other headphones.
Connectivity - the connectivity for these have been hot or miss. I got them connected to my phone first time but, I never could get them to stay connected to my computer at all. I like that you can cycle through devices with the button on the side. I did have a few issues with the headphones starting connected to each other. They would usually get back in sync within a few seconds but, it did happen more than once.
Calls- this is my biggest complaint about these. When you connect to a call, the left earbud goes completely silent. Do if you usually take calls with your left ear and want these for that reason, these won't work.
Overall great for music and the truly wireless feel is great. If your willing to look a little weird with large earbuds in your head and can deal with the occasional disconnection, these could work for you.

how do i use a flashdrive
Just plug it into the USB port, then go to "file explorer". In the left hand column of icons you should see your flashdrive. It will be near the "c:" drive on the list. Just drag and drop files to that icon to add things to the flash drive.
