Good Product-average results

I had some difficulty getting this initially installed. It took a little while for the AVG help to respond. When they did I realized the AVG Ultimate is setup for specific devices. Double check it covers the devices you want.
Android
Mac
Windows
The AVG rep suggested I install it on my windows pc first, then try other tablets etc. after. The install worked fine on my windows pc. I set it up and was able to connect with the activation code provided. It ran through the initial scan and informed me of all the errors I may want to fix to secure my computer/network and speed up my computer. I performed the clean up and turned on the VPN monitor (included).
I did not notice a major speed increase if any after running the cleanup.
I tried to install it on my Android tablet/ 2 in 1 but only could access some of the programs. The Play Store does not have all the programs/apps available to the PC version for this Ultimate coverage. I have not tested out the security app yet on my Chrome Slate and the TuneUp app is not available.
I was unable to install it on my iPhone or iPad
This seems to be geared for Windows PCs and Laptops.

Works Well,Easy Setup,Feels weird

This mouse is not mini, but on the small side (flatter but about the overall shape/size as a typical mouse)
It is easy to plug and play: I tested the wireless plug first and it worked right away and well. I tested the Bluetooth second, and it was also quick and easy.
The response is very good, click/scroll/movement.
It is all self-contained with a magnetic removable top to access the battery and INTERNALLY STORED WIRELESS PLUG -YEAH!. I like this as it makes it easier to use mobile.
My only complaint is it doesn't feel right. I am used to the feel of a typical mouse or wireless mouse, and this flatter/pitch forward model feels odd in my hand. I may get used to it over time but not initially.
I like all the setup and functions/portability of this mouse and do recommend it.
I would recommend you try it out to make sure the feel is right for you, otherwise you won't be happy.

Ok Pot, Avg Flavor, DW Safe, CONDENSATION!
on October 15, 2019

This is a pretty standard coffee maker. Easy to setup and get started. Makes 12 cups. Uses a basket filter (not cone) and includes a reusable basket. All but the plug in base is dishwasher safe. Flavor is not as good as the Cuisinart I've had for 15+ years. The carafe lid and reservoir lid have a lot of condensation and drip all over when you open them.
I really like the dishwasher safe but don't know how often I will use it. The reservoir, top, water filter holder, coffee filter baskets, carafe and lid can all detach and go in the dishwasher. Only the remaining base w/ plug cannot.
I like the cone filters better, this is only basket. And the flavor is just okay (maybe it will improve w/ use)
It has programable functions for set ahead making.
After use (overnight etc.) When I open the lid to fill w/ water, all the condensation drips down the side on my counter. The same thing happens with the carafe.
My wife's comment was 'this is not burn your face off hot coffee'. Which must be a requirement. Hot enough for average drinker but not if you want the super-hot.
This is an okay - average coffee maker. I just don't care for the condensation dripping.

Heaphones Sound OK, Controls tricky
on October 1, 2019

These Over ear headphones are easy to setup out of the box.
They look good.
They fit pretty well and are adjustable to fit different sizes (my head is on the smaller size and some don't fit well, this one does)
They are Bluetooth/wireless and include a headphone cable (I did not test the cable yet, only wireless)
They also include the USB charging cable (no wall block).
The sound is good on the medium to high, just ok on the low. The headphones moderately block outside noise (I was in a quiet environment not a loud gym or outside). The higher the volume you play the less outside noise you will hear.
The outside sound option does not sound good. It sounds tinny and unnatural.
There is an active adjustment strap. I believe to tighten the fit for active use. I didn't notice a big difference but did not use them to workout.
They are supposed to be sweat resistant so using them to workout or do outside work should be a good fit.
The controls are tough for me to master.
There are two buttons on the headphone (power/pair, and outside sound on/off) The rest of the controls are touch on the right earphone. Tap play/pause/call answer, slide volume up/down, slide track skip/back. These are touch only, no buttons and use an up/down/right/left arrow pattern. If you don't hit/slide them in the right direction they don't work properly. I am not a designer, but if there was a built in/raised line you could feel with your finger it would help you trace the direction and get the function right. (Maybe a future model).
I cannot verify the range for the wireless, I only used them w/ about 10 feet or so.
In all they are a good set of headphones, not great.
They look cool, sound good, and I would recommend them

Pen works well, don't use much

Copied from my slate review
I like this tablet, keyboard case, and the pen/stylus is ok.
They were all easy to setup, however the tablet(slate) arrived with a dead battery, so when I initially tried to start it up/plug it in and it did not work I thought I had a dud. It started up after about 5-15 minutes plugged in.
They are plug and play out of the box, slate, keyboard case, only the pen you have to unscrew and install the provided AAAA battery (yes that's 4A to fit in the pen, although it's not that slim and will make replacing it more difficult than a 3A (but I am guessing it will last a very long time)
The Slate is setup with a mix between a PC style desktop (when attached to keyboard) and a tablet style OS when not, or if you flip the case back to back w/ keyboard down. It's smart enough to turn off the keyboard in this position so the keys won't accidentally press on you lap or anything. I am not a big fan of this OS setup, I prefer either the IOS or WIndows 10. Some functions like closing apps and toggling are difficult and the operation varied if the slate is open laptop style or flipped tablet style.
The slate is easy enough to disconnect from the keyboard case, just pull apart the heavy duty magnetic connection. The case top is magnetic also to stay snug to the slate back flat or flip to a triangle shape stand to hold it up like a laptop. It also will hold the pen stylus to the back magnetic side This laptop style is fine if you are working on a table or desk, but a little flimsy on your lap or anywhere else and may tip over.
The battery life is pretty good once I gave it a full charge. I have run it about 3-4+ hrs a day on and off/start & stop and I still have 19% left or 2 HR by their calc.
It's a blend between web based and app based apps. Some just open a Google Chrome (standard browser) window and some run their own app.
The pen is a nice addition but may not be worth the extra money. It works well but not sure how useful it will be. I used it for a couple drawing games and for notes, and I think I would rather type. (if I did not have the keyboard case, the pen would be more useful for notes, etc)
Most of the apps are standard Google, sheets, docs, all running through google drive.
I streamed a couple movies and the play is very good, no loading issues, vudo is standard, but others are easy to add. You may need to play with the screen settings if video is what you want, the glossy screen makes the picture seem dark.
All in all I like this device. It seems and looks really cool. The main thing is the back and forth on the tablet/laptop mode and how to control/close/toggle apps, and the flimsy feel of the case if not on a table. When closed however the case covers/protects the Slate well. & the pen is just ok but would be very useful if you use it in tablet only w/o the keyboard.

Mouse works great, many options
on August 1, 2019
Posted by: hokie00
from MD
This mouse works great, fits hand well (on the average to large size), easy to setup and has a lot of setup options available.
Out of the box, the initial install was easy - it comes with a USB cord to link up initially and charge (no AAA batteries) and a wireless USB dongle for regular use (dongle stores in the USB cord, not the mouse itself). This install/setup only took a couple minutes.
The setup options were plentiful
You can adjust the color scheme/pattern of the mouse top lights (there are 2, roller ball, and main logo). They will rotate through preset 6 or 7 primary colors together or independent. They can 'breathe' or pulse colors
There are many optional functions you can setup on the 3 Aux buttons you can setup for mouse controls of keyboard keys/game functions (as a default they are back/forth on web browser pages I noticed)
The response is good and can easily be sped up/slowed down to your preference.
It can be controlled through your normal Windows mouse controls or the Logitech control panel (more options this way)
There is also a magnetic weight you can place in the base if it's too light.
I would definitely recommend this mouse.
I use it primarily for general Windows/Office work not gaming, but works equally well for either.

OK Laptop, not a gaming laptop
on July 15, 2019
Posted by: hokie00
from MD
This Dell laptop works well and was easy to get started. However, it's not that fast and graphics not that great to call it a 'gaming laptop'. I ran an online system test with UserBenchmark and here is the summary:
Gaming 13%
Desktop 53%
Workstation 36%
Generally it's a good laptop for general computing needs (office style programs, web browsing, video watching, email etc.). It's not so great for speed an graphics.
I played a couple games (shooter and racing) to do a quick test and it was average at best on game loading and graphics speed/choppiness in general.
The battery seems okay but I have not done a full rundown to see how long it lasts. I did play on/off for 4+ Hours and it did not need a charge yet.
It came with Windows 10 and Cortana did all the initial setup stuff (which takes about 10-20 minutes)
It started right up.
One good thing is the laptop bootup is quick so you won't be waiting on startup. It also has plenty of RAM and memory for whatever you want to run, hard drive & SSD.

Nice size/portable, not a lot of power
on July 1, 2019
Posted by: hokie00
from MD
I like the portability/size and ability to get to spills/etc. Not great for sucking up on carpet like a regular plug-in vacuum.
One note, out of the box the battery did not have a full charge. When the battery gets low, the vacuum will shut off. I thought something was wrong with it. Once charged it works fine.
The vacuum is about 1' square, 2' long. About the size of a medium toolbox.
Not a lot of setup. take the battery out of the main vacuum bin and plug it in to charge w/ the included charger. It comes with the connected hose and two attachments (skinny wand and flat vacuum head) It does a good job sucking up dust/small debris off the hard floor. Not so good with dust/stuff off a rug or carpet (stick with your regular plug in vac). I did not test it out with liquids yet, but would expect the same results - good on hard floor, not so good on carpet.
There are no wheels like the typical ShopVac so you will have to carry it, but it's not too heavy, just a battery and motor (around 5-10 lb I would guess)
I would recommend it for light duty/emergency type cleanup, anything heavy duty you will want something bigger/more powerful.

Great new phone-easy IOS switch
By hokie00 from MD
I really like this new Google phone
The screen size is a great jump from my iPhone 5s
The camera quality is much better and the fingerprint scanner (located on the back) works well and fast
The switchover was pretty easy from my old phone
And the new Google assistant easily competes with her apple counterpart
The screen size is large and very clear. A little too large for my back pocket. I enjoy it but will have to find a better way to carry it
The phone is very thin and light so doesn't feel bulky
There is no home button so that was an adjustment as was going back to android from iOS after a few years. But it was like riding a bike-I didn't forget
There's a cool shake function for the camera that switches from front to back as well as several other motion functions you can setup
I also prefer the android keyboards over the apple ones (numbers on all the time)
I have been having trouble finding a variety of cases for the phone so far (likely due to the recent release ). I expect more to be available soon
Overall a great phone. Nice large screen for games videos or anything. New OS is fast and works very well. Screen setup is easy to navigate and the google assistant unlock function is cool. You can unlock the phone with your saved voice saying 'OK Google'
You will be happy with this phone if you are ready for a switch or an android upgrade

New port/charging cable
October 23, 2016
This is hokie00 alter ego.
I wanted to add to my review something I had left out. Google went with a new charging plug/port for the Pixel. The port in the bottom of the phone is not micro-USB like most anroids before. It is a new port (Google-USB-C))about the same size as micro-USB or apple's lightning. It is reversible like the lightning plug so you won't have to worry about plugging it in the wrong way like the old apple plugs or USB.
The phone came with one wall charging cord and one connecting cord for USB. The wall charging cord has the same new connector - USB-C on both ends and the wall plug accepts the new connector only. The 2nd cord has the USB-C connector and a USB end. The phone also came with a USB to USB-C dongle in case you only wanted to carry one cable but wanted to be able to charge via USB or USB-C

Speaker sound OK-some quirks/defects
By hokie00 from MD
The speaker sounds good, and has a good volume range getting loud enough for outside noise.
It has a good range on Bluetooth 70 feet or more in an office around walls for controls and volume adjustment.
It is a good size, a little heavy but feels sturdy for outside/beach/park type use. It's approximately 3"x3"x9". There is a compartment on the bottom for storage/plugs, and the charger/additional plug are located on one end. The opposite end has the power/lock buttons.
Controls are as follows:
End-Power and lock out toggle (to lock controls from accidental touch)
Other end-USB plug/charger for device/phone, DC Power charger for speaker, .8mm headphone jack audio in for device/phone play
Top-Bluetooth sync, skip back, play/pause, volume up, volume down, skip forward, change input (from Bluetooth to either jack)
Bottom-inside 4.7"x2"x0.5" closable storage compartment 2nd USB charger, 2nd .8mm headphone jack audio in for play.
The speaker comes with the user manual and the DC plug for charging.
Bluetooth sync worked easily.
The lock/unlock function is a nice feature to avoid unwanted song/volume/etc. changes
Issues I had with the speaker below.
The first thing I noticed is the compartment is very small, not large enough for most phones to keep inside (4.7x2x0.5) and won't fit an iPhone 5s w/o case. Also if you use the plugs in the compartment you have to leave it open and either on it's side/upside down making access to the top controls difficult. It looks like this is to store a very small wallet/money clip or license/credit cards/cash and not a phone or ipod.
The USB plugs are out only and used to charge, not play the device. So if you want to plug in your phone to charge you will have to also use the .8mm jack or Bluetooth in order to play (jack would be a problem, Bluetooth is fine)
The 2nd USB plug inside the compartment did not work to charge my phone, I assume this is just a defect in the model I received. I was unable to test the .8mm jacks since I don't have one and one was not provided. I'll assume they work and the function toggle turned off the Bluetooth so that seems to confirm it.
The outside USB charger works to charge but is not fast either with the speaker on battery or plugged in. It is probably just a little better than holding a charge while playing music or using your phone. My Pixel XL went from 66% to 72% in about 10-15 minutes while plugged in.
The speaker has a front/back speaker but only one of mine worked. I thought initially it was a stereo issue based on the music I was playing but I tried multiple sources for audio and it still only played through the one speaker. Again I'll assume this is isolated to the unit I received and not the way it is supposed to work. (I will contact the manufacturer about this issue and see how it is supposed to function. I will add/comment to this review with any update.)
Last issue is with the DC plug and only a minor compatibility issue and a suggestion for future models. The DC plug to charge the speaker is the small round type with a pin in the middle and not compatible with many other devices. It would be helpful if this was a micro-USB or USB-C, or Apple Lightning or other frequently used adapter type. The plug was provided so there's no issue using it, but it would be helpful if it was a type of plug/cord I already own in case of loss of damage.
All in all an okay speaker for sound quality, the compartment should be larger to handle a smart phone. The multiple plugs for charge/play are a nice feature but the plugs inside the compartment seem awkward to use.

OK Speaker Update
May 19, 2017
I offered above an amendment after issues I experienced after initial test.
Some items I was incorrect about in my review, others were not explained in the user manual (small paper copy included or full online version)
I was corrected in that the speaker only includes one speaker and not two (one on each side like I thought). The metal grill w/ LIFEPROOF on it is the speaker, the back side w/ nothing on it is just for show (no speaker).
I have also discovered an additional quirk that I thought was a defect. The full online manual explains that only one USB charger will work at a time. I initially thought the drybox USB did not work. In order to get the drybox USB to work you must toggle through to that audio source. So if you are playing through the drybox audio in cable you can charge using that USB. If you are playing through Bluetooth or the outside audio in cable you can charge using the outside USB. I had to find this by experiment. Because there is no readout (to keep the speaker waterproof I presume) there is difficulty telling which source your are on (other than when it's Bluetooth, the BT indicator is lit, and when it's one of the two cable audio in the BT is not lit.
As a result of this I also tested out both cable audio in jacks and they work fine. The drybox cable jack has little clearance so a thinner audio cable is recommended or just use the outside audio in.
As an additional note, the speaker is not waterproof when the Drybox is open (i.e. w/ cables sticking out) so you would probably not want to use it anyway unless you wanted to have two different device cables plugged in at once (which it can handle but only plays one at a time-source toggle)
The Bluetooth call/answer/hangup function works well on the speaker also. Simply press Play to answer & hold Play to hangup.
All in all a good speaker. (Better than I initially thought the first time testing it). The only changes I would like are to have two speakers (one each side) a larger Drybox (go up the the AQ11 when it's available) and a little better clearance on the audio in jack in Drybox for regular size cables.
I'd change this to a 3 Star instead if I could after the retest.

Experience immersive entertainment options with this Sony 4K Blu-ray player. Its Ultra HD resolution provides exceptionally detailed screen images with increased brightness and more realistic color, and its support of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X provides cinema-quality sound. This Sony 4K Blu-ray player supports high-resolution audio formats for more accurate music reproduction.

Can you put a HD cord in this 4K player? Because I don’t own an 4K tv!!

The output to tv is HDMI. If you have an HDTV it will be fine. 4K TV is not required.
But you will only get as good a picture as your tv will support.

If you do not have an HDMI input for your TV it will not work for you.

PC compatible?

I have not tried them on the PC, but all my other Xbox headsets have worked on the PC. I would assume these do also.
The PC seems to be the most forgiving/accommodating. It's Xbox and PS4 that seem to be picky

Enjoy crisp, colorful picture quality with this Full HD HP monitor. The ultrathin bezel on the 27-inch screen provides an expansive viewing area so you can stay productive, and its AMD FreeSync technology reduces input lag and screen tearing. This HP monitor has two HDMI ports for connecting gaming consoles and other devices.

Can this be turned vertically in its stand?

No, it's made to set horizontal, but it will rock back and forth for view angle adjustment.

How is the input lag on this monitor? I did a bit of googling and I was unable to find this stat.

I did not notice a lag between my laptop and the monitor.

Is there a removeable screen protector on the monitor from the manufacturer? It appears to have a removeable film, but I'm worried it's supposed to be there and if I remove it then the monitor will be messed up.

No, not that I received.

Not sure your exact location, but there are several Best Buy stores in Montana. They usually ship free if you have over $35 or 50 spent if there is no store close enough to you.

These Skullcandy Method headphones come with round earpiece covers that fit into the ear to block out external sound.

Did anyone had a problem connecting it to their phone? I tried in two different phones and I couldn’t.

I had no problem connecting to my Pixel XL.
I did not try any others.

What type of phone are you trying and is it blue tooth enabled?

I purchased the Ultimate Lightening McQueen Mobile App Control Car. When I tried to download the mobile app, I was asked for my credit card verification but there is no price listed anywhere. Does anyone know what it costs?

The app should be free.
