Go Back In Time ....

I have always been a fan of Garrison Keiller and Lake Woebegone Days. I was introduced to that media back in the 1980s on Saturday Night Live where Mr. Keillers popularity grew beyond a cult like status when he would appear and read passages from his iconic novel..
There is something warm yet forlorn about Lake Woebegone, and The Prairie Home Companion. On one hand its funny as hell, mixing old school entertainment with the edge of the 2000's. On the other, it is speaks of a time that is long gone, maybe never to return again.
The cast is stellar. Even Lindsay Lohan delivers, and holds her own, with the likes of this all star cast.
The story although predicable, is enjoyable for all ages. Take a chance. Turn down the lights to a candle like flicker, pop some popcorn, get comfortable with someone you love, allow yourself to get lost in the story and message. You will enjoy this fine family fare.
What's great about it: Fun entertainment, with a hint of nostolgia
What's not so great: not in Bluray

Too Many Caviats

This is my first iPhone and after seeing a demonstration of an iPhone sitting in a bowl of water for 15 minutes coming out fully functional and DRY I decided to spend the money.
A bonus is that I wouldn't need to purchase an expensive ZAGG screen and body protector, a $30 savings! Lifeproof admonishes new users to NOT use a screen protector for the reasons listed on their website www.lifeproof.com/support. On their website you will have the opportunity to upgrade your warranty to 1 year for FREE by taking a simple quiz on the product.
The good thing is that while fishing the other day my phone must have fallen out of my tackle box because I saw it laying at the waters edge covered in mud and most definitely submerged. NO DAMAGE! The phone was bone dry and fully functional. NICE!
The NOT SO GOOD THING is that you are not warned that your standard charging/data cable will not work with the case, and you must purchase an adapter, or remove the case (not recommended) every time you want to charge or sync your phone.
At the price charged they could have been more forthcoming or even better, provided the adapter FREE OF CHARGE. Accessories are over priced, so do some shopping for the best deals ...

STOP MUMBLING!

Stop Mumbling. I heard that a lot when I tested this unit. It set up like a dream. In less than 5 minutes I was up and mumbling away on my cell. The unit is attractive, and offers plenty of goodies, including a way to locate your car once you download the free app, but pretty is as pretty does .....
The sound quality is better through the Moto speaker than through your car stereo, even if its a BOSE system like mine. Understanding callers isn't the issue. What is at issue is that every call I made, whether it was to a land line, VOP, or to another cell, I was told that I sounded garbled or the I sounded as though I were mumbling.
Great Idea, terrible product. Sorry guys, this one is a MISS.
What's great about it: Easy Setup .... Lots of Web Widgets
What's not so great: Not very clear at all.

Even Gets Neck Hair ...

I have used my old Braun 5 series for about 10 years and it finally gave up the ghost, so I decided to bite the bullet and see if this shaver is as good as the hype or not.
I am a picky buyer and if I spend a lot of money on a product I demand a high quality product that does an excellent job. That being said, I had no doubt that this Braun would work very well on my face, but what about those pesky wild neck hairs that my old Braun never did catch up to. I would have to use a cheapie razor to get a clean neck.
Well I was pleasantly surprised. I thought my old Braun was comfortable but this is the most comfortable shave I have ever had. I let my beard grow for 3 days before the maiden voyage of my new BRAUN. Pretty thick beard .... NO PROBLEM. Pesky neck hairs .... Lo and behold, I discovered that if you hold the shaver upside down .... NO PROBLEM.
Give the new Braun a try. I don't think that you will be disappointed. Braun gives you 60 days to decide, so what have you got to lose?
What's great about it: Very comfortable shave. Great on neck hair.
What's not so great: Still a little pricey. But it IS a Braun.

Has it really been 15 years since the 10 year anniversary DVD at the Royal Albert Hall?
First the good stuff ....
500 voice choir! Amazing voices, wonderfully orchestrated and for the most part brilliantly and faithfully portrayed by the cast, with a few exceptions.
Lea Salonga will forever be Eponine, but this time she plays Fantine. She's played both roles and does a superb job. Miss Saigon's voice truly is a gift. Valjean is amazing, I like him in this production as much as I liked Colm Wilkinson in the 10 year anniversary show. Cosette, is as beautiful as her voice in this production. The innkeeper and his wife (same wife different innkeeper) bring down the house every number.
Now the not so good ...
I am sorry but although this Javert has the look and wonderful acting ability I found his voice lacking compared to the 10 year, although Javert's Suicide is wonderfully sung. CLOSE, but not quite. Sorry.
Now for Marius, um NO WAY, NO HOW, I don't care if he is a Jonas brother. Cosette, Valjean and Eponine had to hold their voices in check because this Marius's untrained voice was not up the the quality of the cast. He had the same sick look on his face throughout the show and I found that annoying.

The staging ...
No more turntable, now scenery flies into place. Very nice except for it takes away from the after the battle scene. This time Gavoche dies off stage, and this kid was so good and likable he deserved a better end. 3 hours of wonderful entertainment and worth the price.....

This Product SUCKS ....

I had originally purchased the DYSON DC 25 Ball for animals, and it was maneuverable but after 6 months I started to notice a significant drop off in cleaning power. I followed DYSON's customer service suggestions, but it just wasn't as good as it was when brand new.
I happened to see that there was a DC 28 for sale as an open box, and to my surprise I was allowed to swap one for the other, even Steven.
The first thing I noticed was the DC 28 is built more like a commercial vacuum. Quality parts throughout. The selector buttons were a much appreciated upgrade, but DYSON says that the beater bar is virtually self adjusting. I tested that theory, and well, I am happy to have the convenience of the selector buttons.
The next thing that I noticed was the POWER. This thing is a beast. I researched and found that the ball does not guarantee a full 12 amps suction, but between 9.5 and 11 amps. The extra power was appreciated and noticeable. This vacuum picked up the carpet nap, which was was was missing with the DC 25. I don't know about anyone else, but when I vacuum my carpets I like that plush feeling under my feet.
The wand extends to a full 17 feet! and man does that come in handy. Also the power cord is 35 feet as opposed to 21 feet in the DC25.
Keep in mind that this machine is a little heavy and not as maneuverable as the 'Ball", but for me the benefits outweigh the convenience of the DC 25.
I had vacuumed my living room before bringing my old DC25 in to be repaired. I mean who knew how long it would be before I got it back, right? For the fun of it I vacuumed my living room when I got home and I was SHOCKED to see the amount of dirt that the DC25 left behind, thus reinforcing my decision to upgrade to the DC28.
I am pleased with the quality and the job the DC28 does, and I think that you will be too.
What's great about it: Commerical quality beater bar
What's not so great: A little heavy.

For Those Who Want A Little More Control ....

After being totally disappointed with the SONY 370 (slow, slow, slow, and couldn't hold a charge in a Nuclear power plant) I did my homework and decided that this little Nikon would be perfect for every day shooting.
I have a D-90, but there are times when you really don't feel like lugging around all that gear, so this is now my take it and go camera.
I admit that I was a little put off that this camera operates on AA batteries, and that the ones given weren't even rechargable. Plan ahead to either buy more Lithium or a good set of rechargables and charger.
Okay now for the good part. I think this little brother to the D90 does a pretty good job. The functions offer different modes for shooting, but it would have been nice if there were a Manual mode too. But that isn't why I bought this camera, I wanted something that was easy, offerered good quality and a fair price. The ON SALE price was the deciding factor.
Its a little larger than one that will fit in your pocket, but the grip is comfortable and a nice NIKON neck strap is included. The video looked surprsingly good on my Samsung LED tv, so all in all, at the sale price this was a good bargin.
One last tip though, do yourself a favor and be sure to purchase a good quality CLASS 10 memory card. I believe that a better card would eliminate some of what others took issue with. At least for me, I noticed a diffeence in shutter and card writing speed.
What's great about it: Feels good in your hand.
What's not so great: Not so sure about AA batteries, and no recharger ...

Feel the NEED FOR SPEED?

My HP 9500 series came with an INTEL Quad Core processor and 6 Gig of ram, so I wondered if the 2 additional gig would make much of a difference in the overall scheme of things.
OH YES IT DID!. Although Vista x64 ran very well with 6 gig, the additional 2 gig (bringing my ram to 8 gig) was the turbo boost my system needed. Simple to install, and at a very reasonable price, I can't think of a single reason why someone would not perform this simple upgrade.
My only criticism is that I wish the sticks had a heat shield already installed but they are cheap enough and although some may say that they are unnecessary, personally I like the peace of mind.
GOOD PRODUCT at a GREAT PRICE!
Don't think about it; JUST DO IT!
Why waste your time searching online vendors looking for a deal, when this is the BEST DEAL IN TOWN~!~

Old School Feel and LIGHT, GLORIOUS LIGHT!

I have always used MS keyboards and mice. Force of habit I suppose, but lately MS quality seems to last only as long as its every shortening warranty period. REMEMBER when MS keys and mice carried LIFETIME warranties? Then 5 year warranties? Now 2 years or less. There's a reason for that guys .....
Anyway, the time had come where I could no longer tolerate missing the first letter typed so I put the MS 5000 Laser where it belonged, the dumpster, and bought this unit. I replaced my mouse with the Logitech MX Revolution. Definitely a good combination!
i wanted an an illuminated keyboard. I do a lot of my paper writing at night and the warm (adjustable level) glow of the keys was appreciated. I love the old school tactile feel of the keys as opposed to the squishy feel that seems to be more popular these days, and I am old school enough to appreciate a sleek FLAT keyboard without any of the fancy rises and waves of newer ergonomic keys.
If any of you are old enough to remember the first IBM keyboards, and miss that kind of response and feel then this will trip you down memory lane nicely.
Best Buy offers this unit on sale at least once a month, so unless you have an immediate need, wait for it, and save a few bucks.
Just be advised Forumteers, that this is a CORDED keyboard but the USB length is still ample enough to allow me to move the keys onto my lap when typing when the mood fits me. It's not what one could consider a GAMING KEYBOARD, but for those of us who just need a workhorse with a stylish twist, this may be the light at the end of the keyboarding tunnel.
What's great about it: tacticle feel and of course illuminated keys
What's not so great: Wait, I'm still trying to think of something ....

This cover did not work!!! My son dropped his iPhone in the pool and it is ruined!!! I contacted the company and the only thing they will do id replace the cover!!! So he is going to have to pay 500 dollars to replace his iPhone. Maybe this product works most of the time and he just had a defective one but don't pay 80 bucks for something that may not even work and for sure you should not trust that it will!!!!

I understand your frustration and anger and, forgive me for asking but did you do the one hour submersion test before applying the Lifeproof cover? I didn't think I was going to test mine, assuming that if it is factory fresh it has to be perfect, but I am very glad that I did.
After about 10 minutes I checked my brand new virgin case and lo and behold I noticed a water spot. I pulled it out of my glass checked it, and it was sealed properly, so I called the company who promptly overnight delivered a fresh one, which worked perfectly.
Testing is the key, and once again I am so sorry for your situation. In this economy having to replace an expensive iPhone is an unwelcome expense, but on the bright side there are authorized dealers who can and will repair water damaged phones for a modest price.

I have been a Samsung user for the last 10 years or so, but after a bad experience where the set had to be repaired 3x in the same calendar year, it was time to explore other options.
I was very impressed in the store at the clarity and detail of this model, however when it was delivered I have to say my enthusiasm waned considerably. I had been used to using certain settings on the menu and sub menus but the picture left me flat.
However with a little experimenting and keeping an open mind, I found picture settings that are nothing less than stunning.
**A HINT** in the ADVANCED MENU, lower the GREEN level 2 clicks, in the darker register for a truly neutral picture. Otherwise everything in the darker registers has a slight, but annoying green pall to it.
The UPCONVERSION of the SONY compared to Samsung is night and day, with the Sony taking even the mediocre signal of Brighthouse and enhancing it beyond what the Samsung in the same price range can offer.
All in all I am content, the integration of my Yamaha / Samsung 4K home theater was a dream to set up and the quality is excellent. I was going to use the Sony 4K Blueray but honestly Samsung still has some features I like so why not have the best of both worlds?
All in all I think my entertainment dollar stretched well with this Sony 4K 3D TV.

We bought this as a replacement for a very expensive model that had quit working and unknown to us had a feature that we were able to connect our Wii to instead of having to connect it directly to the TV. Unfortunately this product was not set up for that and we had to connect the Wii directly into the TV which left me with a cord hanging down my wall while all the others were concealed behind the wall. Had I known I would have opted for a more advanced receiver. other than that we are happy with it.
