I found out about this band on their black cab session (side note: if you haven't heard of, or watched a black cab session... you are really in for a treat when you finally check them out.) Anyway, I've enjoyed just about every artist that has ever played on their videos, but something about Chairlift got me more excited then the others. I picked up the album almost immediately after watching it, and the past few days have been entirely fueled by "Something". I definitely recommend this to friends, family, loved ones, and pets... spread the love for this great musical piece.
If you have any inkling to see Adele live, watch this DVD. It will invoke chills as you crank your home stereo to unheard of decibels and adjust your high definition quality television. It will absolutely, positively BLOW YOUR MIND. Adele is truly an inspiration and wonder. Every time I watch her sing, it is proof that some people are born to something with their life... hers of course is singing. Standing ovation, 5 stars, two thumbs up, and everything in between... this video will leave you breathless. Enjoy!
Hot Chelle Rae is the band you put on when you are home alone and want to secretly sing as loud as you can and dance around in your bedroom. Unstoppable catchiness... a perpetual playlist of polished pop gems. So go ahead, bring out the inner singer and dancer in yourself and give this album a go.
*please don't blame me for the songs that you will not be able to get out of your head. :)
Meet Donald Glover: The all encompassing wonder child (man) of every talent we all wish we had. The hilarious and spot-on actor, the hysterical comedian/comic, and the vivacious lyricist/rhythmic rapper with unstoppable flow. This album is another milestone for him, but I imagine it's more like another feather in his bursting cap... just another thing he accomplished passionately but with ease. Anyway, I really look up to this guy.. and cannot stop listening to this album! Keep em' coming, Glover, don't ever stop the amazingness!
As a long time musician myself, I can honestly say that these young cellists are some of the most talented I have ever seen. Their knowledge and love of popular culture shines through their classical training... and they have created a refreshingly breath-taking new sound with historic influence. I'm a big fan of classical pieces... to be able to pop this cd in my car just after listening to the likes of bach or brahms and have it flow seamlessly is a great feeling. I can't wait to hear much more from these two artists in the future.
What's great about it: Talent, classical influence
This album is such an amazing treat. Amongst all the competition, they continue to have their own unique style of songwriting mixed with unique singing that really makes them stand out. If you haven't heard them yet, it's about time you do. Scroll up and buy the album... you'll love it guaranteed! :)
This album is the ultimate package of stripped down folk rock. With hints of Ray LaMontagne, Wilderness of Manitoba, and Mumford, they blend up a collection of songs that resonate with visuals of railroads, countrysides, boots, hats, and acoustic guitars all wrapped in a sepia hue. This CD will warm you up on cold nights... keep you company on lonely nights.. and sing to you on your long drive home. This album is going to make it very hard to play any other cd's in my stereo for the next few months :)
What's great about it: lyrical content, warmth, style
I love it already. Only a day with it in hand.. and I'm a huge fan. I've only had brandon boyd's solo stuff to hold me over for the past 5 years... and now that incubus finally released their new record... i can honestly say that it's PERFECT! Yes, they have grown and matured as a band... so it sounds a bit different than their previous stuff.. but nonetheless it is AWESOME!
I love what I've heard so far off this album!! He's so talented and definitely one of my guilty pleasures! I suggest watching his new music video for "tomorrow" if you haven't yet, it's awesome! (watch on VEVO... HD baby!)
I was one of the lucky few who got to see this video when it was first premiered in select theaters. I was hesitant to attend because I had no idea what to expect and didn't want my love for FOO to be lessened... but it was INCREDIBLE! It made me love them even more... a hundred times more! I'm comfortable saying that even people who aren't fans of their music will still love this video... it's humorous, emotional, captivating, and uplifting... and best of all it's a true story! It really allows you to have an intimate connection with Foo... I feel like I grew up with them now! I suggest checking it out.. now!
What's great about it: Emotional, Captivating, Inspriing, Uplifting
Funeral Party is more than just an edgy rock band out right now... they are paving a path for a whole new series of bands to follow! This album is a huge push forward for more aggressive music... and is on the rise to becoming a milestone for popular rock!
