It's unusual for me to REALLY like a CD from the first listen. I like to rock out, but I also like more mellow, mid-tempo music. Was very impressed by this first musical outing!

What's great about it: lots of acoustic
What's not so great: could have included more tracks
I really enjoyed this movie, more than I had any tarantino film in a long time. Of course there was gratuitous blood and language—it's tarantino—but the acting, storyline, and humor were great! Taking place circa 1860, the use of music from different times during scenes when these types of music didn't exist was hilarious, and gave me some of my most memorable scenes: riding across a field to '70's pop music, the use of hip-hop music. Good stuff!
Fairly good movie (no 'Lord Of The Rings', but hey). Acting is very good (mjf is funny and competent as usual), with really good special affects (especially for a pre-2000 movie—Peter Jackson started showing what he could do cinematically even on a mid-sized budget...

What's great about it: familiar skillet sound with just enuf differences to not be the same old thing
What's not so great: sometimes the yelling is a bit much
I was a little kid when abba hit the scene, so I only remember bits & pieces, but I rediscovered them in the mid-to-late '80s, and have loved them ever since. Add amanda seyfred singing their songs & a very vivid blu-ray picture (I've seen the dvd, and was impressed how much better this was: the water/ beaches looked better, the night scenes were clearer—the colors were generally more vivid.) Not my favorite movie musical where the actors actually sang (that was Across The Universe [beatles]), but this would be up there on my list!

What's great about it: songs great, picture great—AND AMANDA SEYFRED SINGING
What's not so great: am not a big fan of meryl streep or pierce brosnan
Really 41/2 stars. I've never been much of a FOB fan—just liked their singles like 'Dance, dance', songs fairly different from most their other pop/punk fueled stuff that all blended together. I can easily say (IMHO) that this is their best album by far. The majority of this album is more adventurous like their past occasionally different/great singles.

What's great about it: catchy and still musically solid (as opposed to past simplistic fluff)
What's not so great: too many collaborations with other artists (but I guess that's the thing these days)
This release contains every episode from the fifth season of HBO's True Blood, a run of shows that introduced a handful of new characters such as Authority Chancellor Nora and a werewolf named J.D. and developed the continuing political struggle between the Vampire Authority and a group who call themselves vampire fundamentalists.
Yes, I'm a guy. I wasn't very enthusiastic about seeing this (there were other movies much higher on my 'to watch' list, but it was great! Not just another chick flick. Especially if you're completely sick of glee-type music everywhere. This was dealing with a capella groups (even the instrumentation was done by vocals only). A fairly funny movie with good acting from leads & rest of the ensemble cast. This video (both BD and DVD have one of the best extras I've ever seen on a disc: a music video stitched together with home videos (a la youtube) that people from all over sent in to the filmmakers who then edited together the submissions along with parts sung by the cast to make a completed song. Great! Also, if you look close during the pool scene, one of the categories on the wheel is 'songs glee hasn't ruined yet' or something like that. Hilarious! Didn't give much of a synopsis here, but there's plenty of those on the internet (amazon, imdb.com)—I just wanted to hit the couple things that have made me like this movie more and more each time I watch it+

Can be a little hard to follow at times & seems to raise questions that aren't answered. But being such a big Donnie Darko fan (by same director), I was able to follow fairly well, and understood most of the imagery this director (Richard Kelley) seems to gravitate towards. Overall, good flick but skimpy extras on DVD.
What's great about it: suspenseful, full of tense urgency
