My son and I watched this movie together. We have seen every Ape movie in the franchise prior to this one. About 20 minutes in we both looked at each other and said, "is this it?". Then the story fully reveals itself and gets really good, I mean really good. After this revelation, it makes sense what was happening in the beginning. Excellent movie indeed. 4K presentation is just perfect.

I am really enjoying this 4K BD player from Samsung. They have addressed all the issues from their first 4K player. The picture this player produces on a 4K TV is simply outstanding. It's barely watchable. The story line is thin, the acting is even thinner. What the heck is wrong with Nicolas Cage. I could tell his heart just wasn't in this one. He clearly did this one for the paycheck. The special effects were just horrible. I realize this is a budget film, or at least that's the way it appeared to me, but c'mon man. There were better special effects in movies from 15 years ago. The extreme lack of quality special effects just ruined it for me. This along with the acting..........blah!!
